If anyone's got the CI (Crime Investigation) channel, there's a thing called Prenup To Murder on right now on CI +1 about Arturo Gatti's death. It's a two parter and this is part one. It's repeated at 2am. Looks good, I'd seen the 48 Hours piece on Gatti but didn't know about this one.

On the day that Carl Frampton's Boxnation debut fight this weekend has been cancelled. Eddie Hearn has got Scott Quigg a world title fight against undefeated Cuban, Yoandris Salinas and its on home turf. Salinas doesn't look like he's had any strong tests, so Quigg has a good chance of adding another world champion to Matchroom's roster.

Chisora/Scott is on this weekend. Chisora looks like he's in the best shape he's been for a while and I think Scott's lack of power will be advantageous on the part of Chisora who's chin-strong anyway. Chisora will have to walk Scott down and use his size to plough on through. If he gets sloppy and takes rounds off like he's prone to, Scott will use his footwork and jab to confuse and deter Chisora. Scott will have to look aggressive, otherwise the judges will automatically give the rounds to Chisora.

the way Boxnation have been bigging up Malick Scott this week it seems like he's the best heavyweight no one's ever heard of. I'm looking forward to it, Chisora motivated is always good value, and if Scott's anything as good as he says he is it's gonna be a great scrap.

Great news about Quigg getting a title shot too, the fight will be in the UK too.

...and fuck, i missed that Gatti stuff wand. if you see a repeat pop up let us know.

It's repeated on Sat night/Sun morning at midnight as well, Ebb.

I was wrong about it being a two parter. There is two parts but part two is about a different case entirely. Still, the Gatti one was good stuff. Not a load of new ground covered if you've already seen the 48 Hour Mystery show but worth watching. It's newer as well. At the end it said that the case was re-opened and that in March this year, the judge again ruled it a suicide.

I'm no conspiracy theorist but I have to say there's something not quite right about the whole thing. There was a forensic guy on there (he was on 48 Hours as well) and from what he was saying, the version told by Gatti's wife doesn't add up. They said where his body was found doesn't tally with if he'd hung himself, his head was almost wedged under a kitchen worktop. Also, I don't think this bit was revealed on 48 Hours, but his chain he always wore around his neck had been removed and put back on and his wife was apparently boiling it in hot water at some point. And there were foot prints on his body as if he'd been stamped on. All this combined with the fact Gatti's will was drawn up about a month before he died. Fishy.

It's all very odd. Gatti's brother believes the wife is innocent but a family member on this show (nephew or cousin, I forget) wasn't buying her story. We'll never know for sure I guess.

Nice little clip of hatton and malliagi shooting the breeze after hattons comeback press conference, Love Paulie, top chap.

Malik on pts tonight.

I like Pauli myself, will give that a watch thanks for posting.

Del Boy all the way tonight for me, always found him a lovable rouge.

Oh dear, yet another Frank Warren show that is a wet fart. Just as Scott/Chisora gets going, Scott gets knocked down but isn't hurt. He waits and waits, then as the ref gets to 9 he gets up and then the ref counts him out, even though he made the count. Didn't lift up his gloves, check his eyes, etc. Cue Boxnation fawning over Chisora as to how great he was, despite being behind on the scorecards.

Billy Joe Saunders looked good again but lacks the power to put away his opponents. As the competition gets even better, he's going to continue to struggle. He's still moderately young but his trainers seem to think his punching power will improve with age. Unless he moves up in weight, that isn't going to happen.

Poor referees decision with the count but as they said lastnight, theres a reason why they say take an 8 count and not a 9 count. Malik was stupid doing what he done, maybe he wanted out of there, i dunno. I think saunders is very very good, looking forward to his next fight, that should be good.

They were saying lastnight that Bulligioni sold over 600 tickets, i would be interested to see how many was there, he shoukd have been main eventing if that was the case.

they always talk about Bulligioni's ticket selling abilities, it's pretty impressive if it's true.

Chisora/Scott was pretty good, i think Scott turned up as advertised, clearly skilled but lacking any real concernable power, there were times when he was giving Chisora a bit of a boxing lesson but Chisora was having success pinning Scott up against the ropes.

I actually think Scott might have been looking for a way out, Chisora was digging home body shots and maybe Scott felt he was tiring (despite being up on the cards), it's hard to say but you can't really blame the referee for the finish, if you aint on your feet by the count of 10 you're finished and Scott stood up as the referee said 'ten', the ref couldn't have been clearer in his instruction. If it was a genuine mistake by Scott to get up that late he's gonna be gutted, because he seemed ready to stand pretty much straight after he took a knee. Scott's cornerman screaming 'he was up at fucking eight' might feel a tit when he rewatched the tape though.

Saunders/Sullivan was a bit of a damp squib in that the fight pretty much laid out it's course early and never once seemed to go off course. Still, it was all but a warm up for Saunders fight with John Ryder in a couple of months so in that respect it served it's purpose.

I'm near finishing reading the Life and Crimes of Don King book by Jack Newfield. I started it ages ago, stopped for ages, picked up again a few days ago and I've flown through the last three quarters. It's a great read. Like anyone even vaguely familiar with Don King, I knew he was dodgy as fuck. "A slimy, reptilian motherfucker' as Mike Tyson once described him, but when you sit down and read through all the scams and outright crimes he's committed over decades, in detail, it's crazy. Even more surprising is his Houdini-like ability to wangle his way around the law time and time again.

It's all in here - the stories of him killing two men, going from jail to promoting the monster Ali-Foreman 'Rumble In The Jungle' fight in the space of a couple of years, his treatment of the likes of Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes, Tim Witherspoon, Mike Tyson, the list goes on. All who he used and stole large sums of money from. Paying off cops, judges, bribing boxing commissions and judges, bribing jurors to get lighter sentences, all manor of dodginess surrounding his various income. The way he swooped in to take control of Tyson after Jim Jacobs died, already making his move at the funeral, next to the casket! Not to mention his mob ties, there's even accounts of him dealing with Mafia don John Gotti. Fascinating character, clearly a total scumbag yet strangely likeable and charismatic.

Seriously, if you can find a copy going for a decent price, get this book.

i remember reading something or being told from someone who had read it, don king was basically untouchable as any problems he had the mafia took care of due to the large amounts of money the gangsters made from king due to events being held in their casinos and hotels
