  • 2 weeks later...

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all had a good festive period. I came back home on Saturday night to find that both the nine keys on my laptop had stopped working. That didn't stop me from adding the results – aside from the two games lost to the weather and the Old Trafford stalemate which somehow slipped my mind – to the opening post at the time, but updating the table tonight took even longer than anticipated. Treble rounds already involve a lot of concentration at the best of time, so do let me know soon if you think I've got your score incorrect.

With a maximum possible score of 84 points, an average of nearly 20 is about what you'd expect. It probably would've crept up there without late picks or omitted guesses. At the end of it all however, MVP RULZ still has a commanding lead and the gap at the other end is virtually unchanged. Struggling SNRN10 is punished for splitting his predictions across multiple posts by being the only participant without an exact score this time out. Joint top scorers Two-Face and Stinky both rocket into the top 5 with their hauls of 30 points apiece.

We don't have time to go through all 28 outcomes individually, but Vegeta deserves a special mention for not betting on a home win in the Leicester-Bournemouth fixture. On Boxing Day, the Doncaster and Lincoln City matches were practically duds, alongside results at Leeds and Chesterfield. Nobody at all foresaw the Gunners' thrashing at St Mary's. Away wins by a 2-1 margin for Spurs and Newport proved fruitful, as did the Scottish top-flight derbies. The Rangers match and French Cup ties were useful for one-pointers.

Right, this has turned into a late write-up as I've been typing, so the next round's card will be up very promptly.
