Fog Dude
The results went into the opening post earlier tonight, and the updated table has just appeared here. The average score was over 9 points even though two people didn't pick on time, but that's far from unusual for international round. Briefcase was too much of a coward to bet on Wales to win, but his guess of a draw still didn't pay off as the Welsh went down to a 2-0 defeat in Bosnia (but qualified anyway). Of the other 17 participants who didn't post late, a majority - just - of 9 rightly disagreed with him to claim their bonus points. Eight players made it into double figures, including MVP RULZ, who extends his lead to 29 points. TildeGuy was the best performer with 16 points, but hbk4life was right behind him on 15 and deserves a special mention for getting the Scotland scoreline spot on. Glenryck Pilchards was lowest scorer on a mere 4 and thus sinks back to the foot of the standings, a point behind Zebra Kid Mark. All the European results were essentially easy to foresee, other than the occasional bit of misplaced optimism regarding both Irish teams. Away victories for the Iberian sides in Eastern Europe proved most fruitful in terms of three-pointers. An win on the road for Mexico and a draw in Salford turned out tougher to get beforehand. That'll do for the moment, I reckon. I'll explain why I wanted to get this done now instead of tomorrow shortly in a new thread.
Briefcase
That was a tricky one to call with Wales. I was leaning on them losing but thought they would get the draw. Such is football sometimes.
