why not just do Cyborg/Anderson and have the winner face Germaine for the title? is there really a clamouring to have the 145lb title occupied? Just establish a number 1 contender the have her fight for the belt.

Because De Randamie doesn't want any of Cyborg. At all. There isn't much point doing Cyborg vs Anderson as a #1 contenders match when De Randamie might refuse to fight the winner anyway, further setting the title back. Last I heard De Randamie was already on about going back down to 135. So they've got to roll on with the division. And Cyborg vs Anderson is more of a legit 145lb title fight anyway. Holm vs De Randamie was two 135ers coming up to plug a hole in the PPV calendar. Cyborg and Anderson should've always been the fight IMO to crown the first UFC women's featherweight champ.*

* Not that I think there was any real point bringing that belt in anyway as there's no depth to the division whatsoever. But it's here now so they've got to just try to make the best of it.

If anyone's been wondering what Anderson Silva's been up to, search 'Ultimate Beastmaster' on Netflix.

Its presented by Sylvester Stallone (sort of) and it's like Ninja Warrior on fucking super-duber-uber steroids. Anderson is part of the Brazilian commentary team, and he looks like he's having the time of his life.

The English language commentator is Terry Crews...

...the whole thing is batshit crazy.

Tim Hague has apparently been declared brain dead, after having emergency brain surgery following being KO'ed in a boxing match last night.

He'd been knocked down twice before the KO and was so disorientated he attempted a double leg takedown.

Only 34, such a tragedy.

It's things like this that make you wonder about the state of fighters like Bigfoot Silva, guys who have been knocked out a lot, and how much they're potentially dicing with death by continuing to fighter after having been knocked out so much. There's only so much trauma the brain can take.

Yeah, it's on YouTube.

Its a bit of a scandal really, he was knocked down 7 times in 2 rounds and never looked remotely competitive.

The difference in power and body composition was shocking. It looked like an out of shape pissed bloke getting knocked around by a bouncer.
