Paid Members WWFChilli Posted February 3, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted February 3, 2012 Some brilliant Andre (and Hogan featuring heavily) photo's I've been looking at, most of them very rare, worth sharing on here. Â Â Â Just after Vince Sr. died. Â Â Â Â Â TOILET BREAK! Â Giant Baba in the WWF in 1990. Â Â Andre does his 'Columbo' impression while The Hulkster and 'The Lariat' Ned Flanders rock the karaoke stand. Â Popping out for the morning papers... Â Â Â With a young Stephanie McMahon at the Wrestlemania I post-show. Can't imagine that's his first pint of wine either. Â THE LADS~ at Hulk and Linda's wedding. Something doesnt add up there: Â Obviously what doesn't add up is that while Arnie made it to Governor, Andre never got the French presidency. A true shame. Something doesnt add up there: Â Andre's body is 2" in front of Wilt, and that's a clear 1" of difference visible in height, so 3" seems about right. As it stands Andre is slightly closer with his head at the same eye line as Wilt's - he is not taller than him. He is more than likely the same height  Looking at Andre's above pics over the years, you can see how his height diminished over time as his spine compacted. He may well have been billed at 7'4" but there are times when it is clear to see he wasn't. When up against Hogan at WM3 is a prime example. He is only max 4-5 inches taller than him when standing toe to toe and there is no way Hogan is approaching 7'
The King Of Swing
No idea how true it is but more then once in was printed in PS that Andre was well under 7"3 I can't remember the exact height but it was somewhere between 6"8 and 6"10. Paid Members PunkStep Posted February 3, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted February 3, 2012 Oh I'm pretty sure he's not anywhere near his billed height, as is the case with almost every pro wrestler that has ever lived. I think he's at the 7' mark or thereabouts. Maybe an inch under.

All the perpendicular to the ground angle will do is change the vanishing point to a lower position in the distance - closer objects will appear larger at the top of the photograph, eg. Andre would appear taller/ closer at the point of his head, rather than at his feet, and vice versa the higher you go

But in this photo we're talking about him taking 1 step back; a few inches.  If Andre steps backwards 1 step, he's moving "up" the photo, and thereby getting taller. It's all about the perspective of this photo. If he keeps walking backwards, yes, he gets smaller as he goes into the distance; but we're talking inches here - and the incline in the photo is more than the step back he needs to take to be in line with the other guy.
