simonworden
I would expect some of the Rock AM announced bands to be on for Download as well. Â Also worth noting that Download put a FB status up regarding the announcement of the bands on Monday with the final words being Bring the Noise.... Â I'm hoping this is a clue as to Anthrax being one of the sub headliners. Perhaps before Metallica?
Paid Members Dead Mike Posted January 13, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 13, 2012 or finally the Donington debut of Public Enemy?
KingOfMetal
I wouldn't have Anthrax in that spot on the main stage. Don't get me wrong, good band but there's a reason why they went on first as part of The Big 4. If it was me booking, Id have them headline the 2nd stage on Friday night
Paid Members Dead Mike Posted January 13, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 13, 2012 Anthrax are nowhere near big enough to headline 2nd at Download. They play Academy venues at best, recent 2nd stage headliners have either been 'legends' like Alice Cooper or arena bands 30STM, Prodigy, Motely Crue (played arenas on their own in 08 before DL in 09), BFMV. IMO Anthrax could sub-2nd or play 4th (3rd at a push) on main.
Harvey Dent
I reckon Anthrax could be a good shout for Download, not that high up though. Maybe 4th from Top main? I'll probably be grabbing a weekend arena ticket now as I'll be living not too far away by then. Â I am booking up for Rock am Ring tonight though which I cannot wait for. Always wanted to go and last years planned excursion was severely fucked in the ass when they announced Coldplay and Kings of Fucking Leon as headliners. Harvey Dent
Well, in the time it took for my fucking friends to get back to me today, I've just gone to book my Rock am Ring tickets and it's fucking sold out literally this afternoon. Not fucking happy.
bigfoote
Just announced for Download: Soundgarden, Biffy Clyro, Chase + Status, Youmeatsix, and Tenacious D.
KingOfMetal
beat me to it. Lousy logging in  Chuffed for Soungarden though
Harvey Dent
I seriously had to google Chase and Status, friday main stage is dance/techno/whatever day I guess. Soundgarden and Tenacious D are great, but Download has a knack of stupid placings on the bill so they'll probably clash. I like Biffy Clyro but I've seen them a lot so I'm not bothered. The Curious Orange
Next announcement is to be made around midnight apparently  If you go to the Soundgarden facebook page, they've uploaded the latest poster a little early that has the other names on it. Harvey Dent
For those too lazy to click... Â Â Tenacious D clashing with Metallica seriously sucks. I would've thought it'd be better to have Biffy headline second and have the D under Metallica. I'll go Saturday and Sunday and not bother with friday. Twatters
I was told by a friend that Metallica asked for Biffy to be playing before them.
Paid Members PunkStep Posted January 16, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 16, 2012 I really like Chase & Status, but are they not a little out of place on that festival? Â Come on Dent, aren't you going to chuck Global Gathering into your original post? I'll do the digging around for all the details if you want. It is a pretty big festival, just exclusive to dance music.
