Paid Members Dearly Devoted Dexter Posted January 27, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 27, 2011 Good to see Quack get a nod for his booking, from what I've seen Chikara in 2010 has been very well put together.
Loligan Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I hate Dave Meltzer and everything associated with the Wrestling observer. Why is it even called that any more? Ever listen to his radio shows? He talks about wrestling with such distain in his voice before quickly changing to talk about MMA. You can tell he's way more into that than pro wrestling these days. It's almost like he mocks pro wrestling. His news is mostly guff anyway. Rant over.
Happ Hazzard Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 Should he pretend that MMA is not far better than pro wrestling at the moment?
The Cum Doctor Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 WRESTLING Observer. Â WRESTLING Observer. Â WRESTLING Observer. Â Just felt I had to repeat that incase people thought it was the Wrestling/MMA Observer after reading that.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted January 27, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 27, 2011 BEST WEEKLY TV SHOWÂ 1. RING OF HONOR (249)2,129 More people voted for this than actually watched it, by the looks of things. About three people and a hamster get HDNet. And, how does Cary Silkin come third in the promoters poll, when the bloke is currently on his arse and had to get rid of his booking head? Not having a go at ROH, but Jesus!
Moderators PowerButchi Posted January 27, 2011 Moderators Posted January 27, 2011 MOST DISGUSTING PROMOTIONAL TACTICÂ 1. STAND UP FOR WWE CAMPAIGN168 Â 2. Rob Terry chair shot75 Â 3. Tommy Dreamer bloodbath in front of his young daughters57 Â I fucking knew that would happen. The Generico/Steen chairshot never happened, yeah?
bwo Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 BEST MAJOR WRESTLING SHOWÂ 1. UFC 116 7/3 LAS VEGAS (153)1,312 Â Erm What?
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted January 27, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 27, 2011 These must be in some sort of bubble where they think wrestling and MMA is the same thing. Never got the connection myself. Apart from the shirtless men and entrance music, and the fact its on PPV, is there any similarities? Did the Observer ever cover boxing? Thats a PPV company, thats promoted using feuds and interviews, that has entrance music and big muscles and dodgy promoters. Where's the join between the two?
The Cum Doctor Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 MOST DISGUSTING PROMOTIONAL TACTICÂ 1. Â Must have been the no-sell that bent people out of shape. I don't see what the issue was, but since more people thought the Dreamer stuff was in better taste, I'll just assume that the voters are inbreds.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted January 27, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 27, 2011 Isnt his daughter a trained child actress, who's smart to the business and who knows Raven on a personal level? The match itself and the outfit Tommy Dreamer wore against AJ Styles were more offensive than that.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted January 27, 2011 Moderators Posted January 27, 2011 His Phoenix singlet? That should have fucking romped that particular award.
Reznor Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 The highfyer one is a bit shit - don't they cover Mexico? I could probably list off a dozen or so better picks off the top of my head. Â Categories that include both wrestling and fighting are also a bit mad.
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted January 27, 2011 Paid Members Posted January 27, 2011 These must be in some sort of bubble where they think wrestling and MMA is the same thing. Never got the connection myself. I can't think of anything beyond the business strategy, the promotional tactics, the mini Vince McMahon, the entrances, the promos and most of the moves. In the case of Pride, even the ring. Â MMA is clearly an amalgamation of Pro-wrestling and a bit of boxing.
