Regarding the new UFC game, has it been confirmed that you'll be able to defend championships in exhibition mode, a bit like the WWE games?

Makes a good point. In this game selecting the 5x5 minute round meant it was a title fight. But now the rules have changed after 138.

God knows what they will do. Im off to eat some Opal Fruits (cos starburst sucks)

James Thompson is fighting Bob Sapp in India as the main event of the Super Fight League 1 event on March 11th. Apparently this organisation is looking to be a pretty big deal in India, being run by Raj Kundra, Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt & Ken Pavia.

Also on the card is Xavier Foupa Pokam and UK based fighter Lakwinder Sekhon.

Haha Thompson vs Sapp. I wondered when that fight would end up happening.

Anyone seen Bas Rutten's comments on Overeem and his fight with Dos Santos?

"I think Alistair, everything he does is one single shot because he knows he's got that glass jaw as well. He's been knocked out quite a few times in the past, even by Chuck Liddell as well. Every time when he punches, one hand is up. He throws single shots; he doesn't throw combinations. You saw that when he fought [Fabricio] Werdum. Werdum was actually tagging him more than he did to Werdum. I think that Junior dos Santos, with his combinations, his reach, I think he's going to tag him and he's going to throw combos and I think that yeah, he's going to take this fight."

I dunno if this is all still from hard feelings over the Golden Glory situtation. I know Bas didn't like the way Reem handled that. But I think he has a point on some of this. I've never been convinced of Overeem's chin, and although his striking his top drawer he's pretty slow and does have a very 'one shot' approach like Bas says. That one shot is usually devestating but if he wins he's not gonna steamroll Dos Santos like he did Brock.

I think everyone's thinking Reem's K-1 level so he'll walk through JDS but I don't think it's that simple. JDS has a solid chin, faster hands and better combos imo. Overeem's a better kicker but I'm predicting and hoping for a Cigano KO win and his title reign to roll on.

Rumoured card for UFC 145 on April 21st. This was originally gonna be held in Canada but was moved to Atlanta.

Main Card (PPV)

Jon Jones vs. TBA (either Rashad Evans or Dan Henderson depending on what happens with Rashad/Davis) - LHW Title

Rory MacDonald vs. Che Mills

Brendan Schaub vs. Ben Rothwell

Miguel Torres vs. Michael McDonald

Mark Hominick vs. Eddie Yagin

Prelims (Most likely be on FX or FUEL and ufc.tv over here)

Maximo Blanco vs. Marcus Brimage

Travis Browne vs. Chad Griggs

Anthony Njokuani vs. John Makdessi

Mac Danzig vs. Efrain Escudero

Keith Wisniewski vs. Chris Clements

The main event will be huge whether it's Rashad or Hendo. Rest of the main card is a bit weak really imo. Torres/McDonald and Rory MacDonald's fight are main card worthy but it could do with one more addition I reckon as a co main event. Maybe Forrest Griffin because he's from Georgia. Could do Griffin vs Thiago Silva maybe if he's ready to go, or Machida?

There's no way Schaub vs Rothwell deserves a main card spot. They've both just lost plus I think that could turn out to be a shitty fight. The prelims look excellent. I'd stick Browne/Griggs or Njokuani/Makdessi on PPV over Rothwell vs Schaub.

Dana has said they have'nt worked out the full Spring schedule, so I doubt all those fights will be for UFC 145. I'm guessing they add at least one fight night in between because they only ditched the Montreal show because they could'nt get a big time main event to headline, something they would'nt need with a FX or Fuel card.

Dana comment on the situation

"I'm in the fight biz not the website biz!! Might be a big deal to other companies not mine.

Lol, I'm not fucking ebay. My website being down doesn't mean shit. I'm watchin FOOTBALL today :)

I could give a flying rats ass about UFC. Com :)"

I'd completely missed this and was unaware MAXI was now in the UFC, so I am very much looking forward to seeing his debut in the promotion. Rothwell/Schaub is probably the most unappealing fight on the whole card. Hopefully Che Mills gets another victory although part of me thinks he is being thrown to the wolves here, while I've got a hunch that this will be Michael McDonald's coming out party.

Out of the two UFC PPV's in February, UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit and UFC 144: Edgar vs. Henderson, the latter show is the one I'm most interested in. The main reason for that is because of the Edgar/Henderson main event. Ever since that fight was announced in November 2010, I've looked forward to it. I go back and forth on who I think will win, it's a tough one to call. On paper UFC 144: Edgar vs. Henderson's main card looks better than the UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit main card as well.
