My feeling is they are trying to setup Jones/Evans for the headline of UFC 150. Just to make it feel like a big deal numbered event like UFC 100 kind of way.

thought i'd add the Middleeasy Sunday Rumor List here, always makes for some interesting reading: *INCLUDES SOME STRIKEFORCE SPOILERS

After last night's Strikeforce card, someone very close to Luke Rockhold (younger brother, cousin...etc) stood outside the arena at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and repeatedly yelled 'Keith Jardine sucks!' Within seconds, an older lady approached the guy from behind and started pummeling him in the back of his head and right shoulder.

The security guards rushed to break up the unexpected altercation. Bewildered, the guy asked who started attacking him for no apparent reason. A security guard simply responds with 'That was Keith Jardine's mom.'

Lorenz Larkin vs. Ovince St. Preux is on tap for Spring 2012. You heard it first.

After BJ Penn made his statements against Cesar Gracie and Nick Diaz on Twitter, another statement was made on his Facebook that seemed to deescalate the entire beef. Within minutes, Penn got on his Facebook and essentially admitted that a PR person accessed his account, and that people need to understand that he's really angry with Cesar Gracie. On a sidenote, this past Friday I had a phone conversation that 100% confirms this is not a PR stunt. BJ Penn really has beef with Cesar Gracie.

Judging from the lack of Rockstar promotion at Strikeforce, it's safe to say the energy drink company was not renewed going into 2012. Personally, I will still 'party like a Rockstar' since their sugar-free drinks are the best in the market. It's in a white can. Try it out.

A guy heckling Strikeforce ring girl, Kelli Hutcherson, was punched in the face by a fan during last night's Strikeforce card. The puncher was thrown out of the arena. Overall, tons of random punching last night. Wild stuff.

ONE FC sees Strikeforce removing their female featherweight division as a 'great opportunity' to sign top women talent for their Asian promotion.

Don't be surprised if Gilbert Melendez vs. BJ Penn goes down in Strikeforce at some point this year.

It's heavily rumored that Josh Koscheck will move to Strikeforce after his UFC contract is up.

In a recent interview, Dana White suggested Jon Jones will face Dan Henderson in his next bout.

It appears that Ben Askren will join the ranks of Shinya Aoki and make Evolve MMA his new home this year.

Now that Sergio Pettis (Showtime's little brother) has racked up his third professional MMA win, it's rumored that Bellator looks to sign the 18-year-old prospect.

Most of the media sites are reporting King Mo is upset with Winslow's decision to not stop the fight quicker. Seems strange considering he stated in the post fight interview with Mauro that he respected the decision and would have wanted it to continue if he was in that position. Winslow is an odd looking creatu isn't she.

Didn't Koscheck say that at this point in his career he just wants "money" fights? Seems weird to move to Strikeforce for that? Sure, he'd probably win the Welterweight title, but the only decent fight for him there would be Tyron Woodley, and that wouldn't be a "money" fight would it?

Melendez vs Penn would be awesome. Especially with all this shit between BJ and Cesar Gracie going on at the minute.

Kosheck vs Daley 2? would be a shit fight like the first one but you just know people would be tuning in for that. But yeah, there's really no other obvious opponents for him. Maybe he could move up to 185 and fight Robbie Lawler, Jacare etc. In Strikeforce, there's better fights for him at 185 than at 170 imo.

Bit more on this here - 'Educating The Masses Why BJ Penn No Longer Respects Nick Diaz'http://bjpenn.com/news/2012/01/07/ufc-news...M+NEWS+BLOGS%29This article is by Scott Hernandez who manages BJ's site and his Facebook/Twitter accounts. Shed's some light on the recent comments made and the reasons why BJ is pissed off about things that happened before, during and after the fight.I'll be honest, the complaining about holding against the fence and not 'just scrapping' is total bollocks cos as I recall it was BJ who decided to grapple first and Diaz beat him on the feet aswell. But reading the article and looking at the videos in the article you can kinda see why BJ felt disrespected. The shoulder barge and getting in BJ's cornermen's face after the fight were dick moves. Really though, this kinda thing is expected of the Diaz boys. Doesn't make it right but that's them. They usually do show some respect after the fight but before and during, when they're in fight mode they hate every fucker. BJ shouldn't have expected special treatment but I can see his point. It doesn't come off so much as excuse making this time, he's admitted he was beaten but just pissed off with how things played out.

Moving the likes of Fitch, Koscheck, Forrest Griffin and Rich Franklin over to Strikeforce is beneficial to the fighters as well as Strikeforce. It is unlikely any of the above will get title shots in the future, but in Strikeforce they can thrive with fresh oppenents and title chances are far greater. They add a bit of star power as well that Strikeforce could do with. Now I know that Kischeck is the only one rumored, but the other 3 would suit being in Strikeforce as well.BJ moving over could work, but he could still have a interesting few fights in the UFC with Nate Diaz and others.

Good shouts actually. Griffin and Franklin would be good opponents for King Mo and Mousasi. Strikeforce's 205 class needs strengthening and them 2 are going nowhere in the UFC right now. They win one then lose one and never get in contention. At least in Strikeforce they'd be bringing some name value to the cards and getting good exposure still being on Showtime.I'd even throw in Brandon Vera and Luiz Cane for a move to Strikeforce and in other divisions I reckon guys like Dan Hardy, Rick Story and Tyson Griffin would benefit from moving over. Fitch too, like you said. It's clear they weren't keen on him getting a title shot and his latest loss could be the excuse to move him. He'd be more likely to get a title shot in Strikeforce.I'd love to see BJ Penn vs Nate Diaz too.

I can agree with Hardy, Story and Tyson.Vera would be a decent name to add to the resume of Mousasi or Fejao, only thing is though does beating Vera still mean anything? He is well known but has been beaten a heck of a lot, that said they did see Jardine as a worthy name for Rockhold.Mo vs Forrest or Mo vs Franklin would draw well on Showtime. Mo and Melendez are the two fighters who Strikeforce should market the most.

Good point on Vera but I think it could freshen him up. The old big fish/small pond thing and like the others he's in a weird spot in the UFC. He's only back there at all because Thiago Silva tested positive. Even if by some miracle he went on a run of wins it's unlikey he'd get a title shot at Jones after the way Jones destroyed him last time. A move to Strikeforce could light a fire under him or if not at the least put a decent name on Mo, Feijao or Mousasi's resume. Might not be a massive win anymore but he's still a name people recognize Agreed on Mo and Gilbert. If Ronda Rousey beats Miesha I'd add her to that list. Them 3 could be the faces of Strikeforce.
