jimufctna24
If his cardio holds up he could be a serious force at 185. Â Always struck me as having a ton of potential, but weight issues and his personal life seemed to hold him back.
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted January 3, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 3, 2012 Yeah I think his cardio will be better at 185. It's a more natural weight for him, he should never have been a welterweight to begin with. Fuck knows what that weight cut was taking out of him. He should be more explosive at 185 which is a scary thought. Â He could go on a run at middleweight but Belfort is a hard first fight at the weight. I think he'll try and use his wrestling. Tie him up like Randy did in their fights and see if Vitor folds mentally like he used to. If he beats Belfort he's immediately up there in the talk for a title shot. jimufctna24
I did not think he was that good a grappler until he schooled Dan Hardy. I know Hardy is no Jacare but still he mauled him. Â Belfort is a tough fight, espicially in Brazil where Belfort is the most famous/popular fighter in the country. I agree that Johnson should try and turn it into a wrestling match. Even though Johnson has knockout power I don't think he should trade punches with Belfort, Vitor can be scary with his boxing at times.
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted January 3, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 3, 2012 Yeah and Belfort has faster hands and better combinations imo. Really a striking match between them 2 could go either way but I'd lean towards Vitor slightly. Speed kills. Power is probably about even. Wrestling is the one advantage Rumble knows he has so I think he'll try and exploit it. Belfort will be tougher to outwrestle than Dan Hardy was though so I think we're in for a much better fight. Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted January 4, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 4, 2012 Anyone caught those new UFC shows on Fuel? The Roundtable show is a nice little watch. Features Mir, Bones, Chuck and Griffin hosted by Jay Glazer. Some good stuff on there. Mir getting ripped for being a Tennis fan was pretty funny. I hope they do more of these. Â Watching UFC tonight now which is an MMA Live equivalent. Ariel Helwani is doing some reporting on there so nice to see he's officially apart of the UFC now

It's kind of random and it's almost like Johnson's being thrown to the wolves at 185, but it's probably the division he should always have been at. I'll pick Belfort to win a decision but i think both guys possess the power to end the fight at any moment. If Johnson pulls it off he probably got straight into the top 5 of the division.  Cant wait for this one.
Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted January 4, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 4, 2012 Anyone think theres anything in Chael hinting at not fighting Anderson Silva but looking at 170 or 205 instead?

Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted January 4, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 4, 2012 of Kimbo's time in the UFC and general Dana White'ness. I didn't notice at the time that they hyped a Kimbo comeback for pretty much every episode after he lost to Roy.  -MiddleEasy
David
Anyone caught those new UFC shows on Fuel? A random question maybe, but do you know if they (or any other channel) will be replaying the best of PRIDE series? I've checked the usual sources but can't seem to find every episode
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted January 5, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 5, 2012 yeh it's being shown on Fuel. Â Fuel has a load of UFC programming going on including The Best of Pride. There's also a weekly news show called UFC Tonight, a Chael Sonnen hosted-show and this week they showed a round table program involving UFC Champions. That channel's gonna be awesome for fans. That's probably the reason Dana had a problem with Nelson for so long.  Regardless, Kimbo Slice remains one of the best things to happen in MMA. I ain't talking from a fight or credibility standpoint, im just talking in excitement. Right from following his street fights on Sherdog, to figthing in the EliteXC, upto the UFC thing, everytime Kimbo was involved i was f'n glued!  oh he won another boxing match at the weekend too. Right from following his street fights on Sherdog, to figthing in the EliteXC, upto the UFC thing, everytime Kimbo was involved i was f'n glued! You think so? After his stint in Strikeforce it was pretty much confirmed that the guy had nothing to offer. I remember the old comparison with Mike Tyson, which I didn't really like, as Tyson actually came out and knocked people out. Â Slice looked all menacing until someone kicked him a few times in the knee. He just looked like a drunk, stumbling hobo after that.
