Not a Tory but we’re left with this shitshow government because the opposition gaining power was unfathomable.

Corbyn should never have led Labour. The Tories will stay in power until Labour rids itself of the far left element & aligns itself much nearer the centre & re becomes the party of the working class. Unfortunately that appears to be a long way away. The state of politics in Britain & the US is the most shambolic it’s been post WW2

Not a tory BUT *barely coherent ramblings about Corbyn and Labour "RE-BECOMING" (?????) the party of the working class by being centrists*

I’m surprised it’s now the “Wee Jock” thread. He didn’t know his stuff at all. But Big Jock? Big Jock Knew.

I came up with an angle* for the WWE Cardiff show involving Drew McIntyre becoming "Big Jock" Drew McIntyre, Just lean into the flag shagging, Queen loving, Rangers supporting stereotypes. This later involved Finn Balor becoming Sinn 'Fein' Balor. I cant go into further details here as WWE higher ups could be reading and steal my definitely brilliant and logical idea.

  3. Enkamp finish was lovely stuff. Reminded me of the Braulio Estima 'invisible triangle' from many years ago in the submission grappling world.

Daley KO was a nice moment but it was funny for the commentators to immediately be speculating that he isn't actually done.

Went to bed before MVP and based on what I have read, I made the correct choice. Sounded like a tedious fight followed by the ever tedious post match "I came to fight, he came to wrestle" type bullshit.

  4. Had some voucher codes through work that were due to expire. Ended up using them to order Sifu: Vengeance Edition on PS5. I've kind of been on the fence about this game despite its critical acclaim as I am not sure I am ready to play another ultra hard game. The recent introduction of an easier (but apparently still quite difficult) mode has swung me. It arrives tomorrow so hopefully get the chance to fire it up in the coming days.

Been having a fairly stressful time again recently so have jumped back into Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and I am enjoying the sheer mindless fun of the gameplay. Honestly its just what I need right now if I only have time for a short go of something of an evening.

If anyone should be walking out because of creative, it should be Rhea Ripley. Or Damian Priest. Maybe even Edge.

Their faction is fucking awful. All it seems to be is leather chairs, long words and monotone outfits.

    Crap.

Is Edge not in charge of his own creative?

Would be good if he did quit over how profoundly boring he is though. Would be a first.

  6. Something I noticed the other day is that both Metallica and Slipknot are doing numerous dates across Europe this summer. There are no UK dates from either band which I find a bit unusual.

Do you think this is as simple as being tied in to festivals next summer (due to 2020 and 2021 delays) or is it some sort of brexit bullshit?

I saw the dates, the Bristol venue they are playing is tiny, hopefully i'll get down to it.

Very small venue in Glasgow as well and ticket was only about £20. Lovely stuff.

On a semi-related note, I quite fancy going down to Manchester for the Converge/Chelsea Wolfe Bloodmoon show.

  8. I've got Shin Megami Tensei V coming tonight as I fancy some Switch gaming (playing video games in bed)

I am hoping it grips me and I can get stuck right into it. Been a few weeks since I have really put any decent time into a game.

Best burgers in Glasgow are Bread Meats Bread or BRGR.

BRGR is so reasonably priced that I struggle to believe it isn't money laundering.

Always liked the BRGR on Great Western Road.

Had a terrible experience with the one in Giffnock when I lived there though. I still hold a grudge!

Someone stole my phone and wallet during Reel Big Fish, so naturally I've not gone back to Leeds since then.

    Sounds like a fucking nightmare.

And to make matters worse you got your phone and wallet stolen!

  11. I only really know about the Glasgow market and, regardless of what's caused it, its clearly absolutely *fucked*

The West End and the South Side of Glasgow are the most in demand areas. Apparently the demand in the South has overtaken the West for the first time recently and this has caused prices to skyrocket. I used to rent a tenement flat just off of Kilmarnock Road in Shawlands in 2015/16 for £400pcm. 5 years down the line and you are looking at double that price. Not only that, there are a lot of horror stories of people bidding for flats by offering to pay above the advertised rent or even offering to pay 6 months to a year of rent up front.

A lot of people would probably wonder why you wouldn't just use the money for a deposit if you can afford to pay months of up front rent at an expensive price. The problem is that the property market is also fucked. Its very common for flats in the area to go anywhere from 10 to 30k above the home report value. Obviously that extra money cant be mortgaged so these properties are only going to be available with significant money to spare in the first place. I had a flat in the area that I sold last year and people were trying to buy it without even viewing it, probably as they just wanted to increase their rental portfolio.

I dont rent anymore but I have never had good experience with a landlord ever. The bastards will scratch and claw to keep as much of your deposit as possible. I had to enter a dispute with my last landlord and when the adjudicator ruled in my favour it was among the most satisfying moments of my pathetic life!

  12. QUESTION FOR ALL YOU LONDON TYPES

Is it feasible to get from the o2 Arena to London Euston in around 45 mins?

Apparently the weeknight curfew at the venue is 11pm and the last train I could get would be 11:50pm from Euston.

Lets just say for arguments sake the gig goes all the way to the curfew (probably wont be far off that). Google reckons I can get trains at North Greenwich at 23:01, 23:05, 23:08 and 23:11 and get to Euston via Waterloo or Green Park.

On paper its feasible if all goes smoothly but is it a nightmare to get out of the o2 and onto a train?

  13. I dont think Oliveira is going in there looking for a takedown and then working his submission game from there, personally.

I think if he does catch a submission I think it could be an RNC where he transitions to the back via a standing exchange / clinch. Either that or he will take the head / head and arm and work for a guillotine or an anaconda if they clinch, if Gaethje dips his head or on the off chance Gaethje initiates a grappling exchange.

I am interested to see how Ferguson performs. To me he looks like he has aged a lot in the last couple of years both appearance wise and how he has fought. Granted the three losses are against truly top guys but when you look at his record you notice how far removed we are from the Cerrone (2019), Pettis (2018) and Lee (2017) wins. Wins which I am not sure history will be kind to as time rolls on.

Glad you had a great time, but that setlist looked poor on paper. Without sounding like Homer shouting at Bachman Turner Overdrive, I get that they're going to play the newer stuff, but there was a lot of it there. Only one song off of 10,000 Days, nothing from Undertow? Come on! I’m sure visually it was all very impressive, but if I’d known that setlist in advance I would have been  as enthusiastic.
They have been changing the setlist on different nights of the tour, so it’s a bit pot luck as to what you get really.

I’d have popped huge for The Patient though, I love that song.

The core of the setlist is more or less the same but they are swapping in things like Opiate, Sober, Ticks and Leeches and Right in Two.

I read an interview with Adam Jones and he said the setlist pretty much comes down to Maynard. Logic being that Adam, Justin and Danny can play any of their songs on any given night but Maynard cant necessarily sing them.

Nabbed a ticket to see Idlewild perform The Remote Part in full in November, that'll be lovely.

One of my favourites. That and 100 Broken Windows are just fantastic records. Bit gutted that the Scottish date is part of Connect festival and not a headline show somewhere. Mogwai and The National are playing the same day which actually sounds a bit of a treat now that I think about it.

Tool was 100% worth the money and the effort to drive 4 hours to Manchester and 4 hours back right after. My seat was so good that I felt like I was actually on the stage right beside Justin Chancellor. Been thinking about this for a couple of days now and I think its probably the top 3-5 shows I have ever seen.

Few weeks left until Meshuggah. One of my favourite bands playing my favourite venue (Barrowlands in Glasgow). Cant wait to pull faces like I have just sniffed the eggiest fart imaginable while also banging my head in a rhythmically odd way.

Need to look out for some good shows between August 5th September 9th. My good pal who moved to Canada is over for a visit then and would be good to get to something as we first started going to gigs together when we were about 12 years old or something.

  16. Hard to say really since they haven't done any gigs in over a decade. I saw them headline Download in 2010 and it was absolutely incredible. As far as I know they were quite ropey on the 2008 dates though.
