yeah, had to shave his hair and beard off to make the weight, he doesn't look great.

Which apparently is a fraction of an ounce.

There are pictures of his feet on the scales and he is not standing on it properly. His feet are off the edge on both sides so a lot of people are saying he's cheated. I personally have a hard time believing that Jez is smart enough for that. More likely he simply doesnt know how to stand properly.

BCW in Ayrshire have confirmed that Kid Fite and Davey Blaze will be at shows going forward, obviously not mentioned on the poster or any social media. Apparently with Fite the girl was 17 and "deemed legal" (Fite admitted she was 16) and "has Ross done anything illegal and did it go to court"

    Absolute scum.

Once again worth reminding everyone that the actual text screenshots are out there. "Kid Fite" (such a shite fucking name.) knew he was in the wrong as he was literally making sure that the young girl would not be telling her parents.

    Absolute danger.

  3. Definitely goes in phases for me.

    Early 90s

I was born in '86 but I have surprisingly vivid memories of WWF from my early years. It felt every bit as big as Ghostbusters, Turtles, Nintendo etc. to me in terms of things absolutely consuming my young mind. We grew up in a fairly modest flat in a working class family so there was absolutely no way my parents were forking out for Sky at the time. Instead I relied on my mums work colleague taping it for me. I probably still have a VHS of Survivor Series 1990 somewhere with regular adverts for Lethal Weapon on Sky Movies (Do you really wanna jump? DO YOU WANNA?!)

I did have a lot of figures though and one of my fondest memories is my Dad coming to get me from my Grans house one Saturday having bought me The Rockers double pack.

    Mid 90s

Couldn't have given a bollocks. Was way more into Football reading comics, playing SNES and Mega Drive games etc. Nobody I knew in school was into wrestling at all at this time.

    Late 90 to Mid 2000s

Similar to a lot of people my age, I noticed that WWF started becoming a cool thing that people were into again during my last year at Primary School (97/98). I was still not that bothered until I got a copy of the Breakdown : In Your House PPV on tape. I was once again utterly hooked and started getting my hands on everything I could. WCW/NWO Revenge on the N64 pretty much sent my interest level into the stratosphere and it only grew more when my local Global Video started stocking ECW tapes.

Full blown obsessed without interruption through to around 2005-ish including a trip to WrestleMania XX when I had barely turned 17.

    Mid to Late 2000s

Stopped caring for large periods at a time. Eddy Guerrero died, the WWE product started to have less and less appeal to me, The Benoit tragedy and so on. A lot of things just sort of added up to me not being that bothered most of the time.

I started getting into UFC a bit in 2005, got really into UFC and Pride by 2006, started doing BJJ in 2007 and for the next several years I was grappling, running, lifting, going to tournaments etc. I didn't really have much time for wrestling then and it was unusual that I would see or hear about anything in wrestling I found interesting during this period - the big exception being when I went to WrestleMania 25 on the assumption that it would be amazing (25th one, huge stadium in Texas etc). It wasn't but at least I got to see Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker in a classic.

    2011 Onwards

2011 was kind of the start of my current fandom. One of the guys I was hanging out with at the time watched WWE religiously. Through him, a group of us got together for WrestleMania 27 and made quite a big day/night of it. Some people have come and gone in that time but there's a core group of us who still get together for most Royal Rumbles, WrestleMania's and, more recently, AEW PPV's.

Right now I can go months and months without seeing anything. If it stops interesting me, I just don't watch.

  4. I liked a lot of it but felt like the Xbox/Bethesda showcase could have benefitted from being a bit more concise. Maybe similar to a Nintendo direct in format where the big titles get a full trailer and some discussion but everything else is more of a sizzle real.

My immediate reaction was that it felt bloated. When I actually looked at the graphic of games coming this year and next, I did think theres a hell of a lot coming to Game Pass that I will actually play.

Scorn is probably the one I am most into right now.

  5. The big pitch he made on the podcast was really uncomfortable listening. I just thought he was an enthusiastic guy with fairly decent knowledge of mostly quite mainstream metal. Why would people be queuing up to pay to hear him talk about wrestling, football, movies, mma...

    Mental stuff.

Stephen Hill did the Life in the Stocks podcast a couple of years back and gives some thoughts on the entire mess.

Absolutely second these two recommendations. My favorite two music podcasts by far. Broken Records is brilliant, i nearly crashed my car from laughing listening to the True Symphonic Rockestra episode episode.

The Classic Album series on Patreon is brilliant too if you haven't checked them out @Ironic Indie Lad

Did you listen to That's Not Metal too? the new version of that is massively inferior to the Hill/Beez combo.

The bit with Hill singing "just one Cornettoooooo..." on that episode almost destroyed me. Can vividly remember painting the house and having to stop from laughing.

I did listen to Thats Not Metal. I've always liked Stephen Hill on Podcasts even back in the Metal Hammer podcast days with Gill and later with Amit and Merlin.

That whole Beez patreon shambles though...

I don’t care how long it takes them to make games, I’d rather the makers didn’t kill themselves, but I do care if the game feels like a worthwhile experience. PlayStation obviously got a boner for online multiplayer games so it doesn’t surprise me Naughty Dog have gone all in on TLOU multiplayer but the remake? I’ll play it if it’s TLOU 1 in the body of TLOU 2 but if it’s a slight upgrade with same shitty shooting I’ll pass. Probably.

Yeah I am not trying to say they should just knuckle down and get it finished and released.

I just found it a bit weird that its gone from being related to TLOU2 to a standalone game with almost nothing ready to be shown. It strikes me as a bit Metroid Prime 4. Like at some point it was scrapped entirely and they started again.

  8. Did anyone catch any of Summer Games Fest?

Not sure what Naughty Dog are playing at. How long have they been working on The Last of Us multiplayer now? They announced its now a standalone title and they are ready to show CONCEPT ART from it. Not even a cut scene, no gameplay. A bit of art.

Then they announced a PS5 and PC ground up remake of The Last of Us Part 1 out this September. Personally I don't think it looks appreciably better than the still impressive PS4 version but I guess they wanted a shiny new version of it to coincide with the HBO series or something.

I find myself slowly becoming a bit of an Xbox fan boy. I upgraded to a Series X the other day and every time they announce something is coming to Game Pass on Day 1 I feel like punching the air.

Being real picky with metal means there's like 5 bands I want to see but they're never on the same day.

Yeah looking at the line up now and its actually even less interesting to my own personal tastes than I remembered.

Zero bands on Saturday I would want to see except Mercyful Fate. They should just move Behemoth, Cattle Decapitation and Life of Agony to the Saturday to cater to me personally.

  10. Mercyful Fate have been playing a new song 'The Jackal of Salzburg' on this run of European dates. The song and the band in general are sounding great.

Makes me wish I was going to Bloodstock to see them now. Its a shame that the bands I would want to see are spread so thin across the 3 days.

On point one, we are what we are. We're a nation with a population smaller than that of Finland, and roughly the same as Slovakia and Norway. We'll produce the odd really good player, but for the most part we simply don't have the depth of talent to be a real force.

On point two I'd disagree completely. If you find it embarrassing that a fanbase goes abroad and consistently manages to endear itself to both fans and local authorities in the cities they visit, and carry out numerous charitable ventures, including The Tartan Army Children’s Charity, then I don't quite know what you'd consider a fanbase that isn't embarassing.

    You're right David!

I hadn't considered the size of our country against Finland, Norway and Slovakia in my very serious post.

I am also against charity work which you have now exposed.

The injury is as bad as it can get. Once the tendon is torn from the bone - as is being reported - there’s no way of it getting worst. Just lots of pain.

I personally don't think that's even close to a good enough reason.

If the right hand side is compromised, there is a tendency to over compensate with the left and vice versa. Just because that specific tear was at its worst doesn't mean he wasn't risking fucking himself up further.

Very silly stuff from all involved but I am sure it gave people like the Undertaker a massive lob on.
