I was never a fan but bizarrely can watch Justin Hawkins' YouTube channel for a surprising amount of time.

I have never watched a Darkness video or listened to any of their music by my own free will.

I have also never watched Hawkins youtube.

This doesnt seem to stop Youtube trying to suggest clips to me constantly.

Ive felt for a while that Hill's basically having a mid-life crisis via podcast.

I feel the same. This seemed to begin around the time he pretended to know about hip hop and bringing up that Dave album as his only point of reference. Strange thing to do.

It's ok to be an aging guy who is mostly into rock and metal.

Riot Act really was great. Have you tried to new show @Ironic Indie Lad? Not the same for me, but i'll give it a chance. I have wondered what Remfry did to piss off Stephen Hill so much though.

We has a very similar relationship as fans of Hundred Reasons by the sound of it. I had the first couple of ep's (still think the first one is some of the best stuff they ever did) before the first album came out and saw them headline and support bands like Boysetsfire around that time.

I listened to the first episode of Trve Cvlt Pop. (Very clumsy title)

I think its alright but I think it will be an occasional listen for me.

Not sure I need a white bald man in his 40s sighing about how he is bored of metal while also assuring me that the new Lizzo album is really good etc.

The Darkness was a weird one blowing up though wasn't it?

    Mental.

I couldn't understand how or why this was embraced by the NME at the time considering the sort of stuff they were pushing in the 00s.

  5. I feel fucking ancient because I saw Hundred Reasons headline the Barrowlands on their debut in 2002 and here they are basically doing nostalgia tours.

Its funny to look back because it felt like the rock media were giving it "this debut album is going to be amazing!" "this band are going to be huge!" for ages while the band were touring and releasing EP's. In reality it couldn't really have been that long of a period of time. It just felt that way as I was in my early teens.

I still listen to Ideas Above Our Station every couple of years. Very nostalgic record for me.

Bringing them up yet again - Riot Act Podcast had a really good episode about the album and the band in general a while back.

Shame that Hill and Remfry seem to have fallen out.

  6. It's an anti estrogenic substance and its banned at all times by the World Anti Doping Agency.

Of course a full investigation should and presumably will take place. Either to clear the fighters name or come to a decision on an appropriate ban while also providing some additional context for the failure.

If it's found that he was prescribed the drug due to trying to start a family / having low sperm count / low test from weight cutting / had mumps as a child etc. then, ok, an argument could be made at that point to say that he wasn't knowingly doping. Next stop would be ruling on whether or not the volume would give any sort of performance enhancement. I don't believe any of the perhaps legitimate reasons for taking clomifene / clomiphene allow you to take WADA banned drugs.

Its either a reminder to check every single thing you take against the banned list or a reminder to your chemist that their doping methodology isn't as good as they thought.

Personally I believe doping is the more likely scenario.

  7. I'd be interested to see how it does if those figures from BT are ever available. I have no idea if they are.

Would be good to see how many people will buy a deep card with no superstars compared to McGregor fights. Wasnt there a Jones fight on Box Office as well?

I don't have any idea what additional costs (if any) BT have to fork out to put it on Box Office instead of their usual. Have to assume they are confident it will make them a nice little profit or they wouldn't bother.

  8. Yeah, the AMOLAD tour in particular was a bit of a wild move. That record did get a lot of critical acclaim but did anyone need to see the album played in full? I am a maiden diehard and even I would say 'absolutely not lol' to that.

The Leg of the Final Frontier tour before the album came out was bold as well. Headlining Sonisphere at Knebworth and going in with 1 song from a yet to be released album, a handful of classics and the rest being from the 2000s Bruce return era.

Book of Souls was heavily weighted towards new stuff as well but at least they put Children of the Damned, Powerslave and Wasted Years into the set.

If they are touring a new album then for me the sweet spot would be about 3 new ones, the handful of songs they pretty much have to play and the rest being deep cuts.

  9. Youre wasting your time worrying about the S not being able to run stuff when theres so many games coming out that the PS4, Xbox One and even Switch can run well enough.

I would be willing to bet there will never be a game released that can ONLY run on the X.

  10. So it seems like Clomifene is one of those drugs that people use to get their testosterone production going when their body is no longer doing it naturally.

I would say there's a fairly good chance that Benn was on a cycle of gear and Clomifene was part of his cycling off in order to make sure his test production didnt drop through the fucking floor.

I would imagine that's why its a banned substance as there is no legitimate reason for a male to be taking this drug.

No idea why anyone would say that its not significant. This is the same drug that Brock Lesnar popped for in the Mark Hunt fight and I have a small suspicion that Brock Lesnar MAY have used PEDs in his life!

  11. Iron Maiden have announced a tour.

According to the bands twitter, its going to focus on Senjutsu and Somewhere in Time songs. Strange theme but ok.

I'd be so happy if I saw Caught Somewhere in Time, Stranger in a Strange Land and Sea of Madness in the setlist and not just the usual Heaven can Wait and Wasted Years.

  12. Failed pro wrestler but successful paedo has no friends or family who cares.

He instead logs into a forum pretending to be someone else but fooling absolutely nobody.

He simply must tell someone, ANYONE that he is definitely a huge success in life and absolutely not just a total fucking weirdo.

Just fuck off mate. You will forever be remembered as a nonce. 99.99999999999% of all wrestling fans have absolutely no clue who you are. The rest only know you from hearing about your repeated sexual offenses. Nobody cared about your life or career before then and absolutely nobody cares now beyond ripping the fucking piss out of you.

You are seriously very unwell and should get some help.

  13. Pretty much agree with all of the above.

I loved the FTR match on night 1. Been going to wrestling shows for 21 years and I am pretty confident its the best live match I have ever seen.

Ishii and Tsuji was lllllllovely stuff. Ishii greatest hits really. I think anyone who didnt know Tsuji had completely bought in when, despite being a huge beefy boy, did a fosbury flop dive. Mental bastard.

The rest was good for the most part and certainly fun to see live but deep into house show territory.

I'll tell you what can fuck off though. When they let the British lads have a go in the opening matches, they have an entirely acceptable match but they try to get the Royal Rumble 2003 Chris Benoit organic standing ovation spot going.

This was my understanding. It was explained to me that Xboxes are basically gaming PCs, and there's no porting required, but newer games will work better on the higher end consoles because the hardware is better.

When you see "smart delivery" when buying an Xbox game, I think that means its playable on Xbox One, Xbox One X, Series S and Series X. The performance and resolution will scale to whatever hardware you are using.

There are very few games that are exclusively playable on the S and X. As far as I know its only games where the SSD technology is a requirement rather than just a convenience - The Medium for example.

  15. Series S is great if you ask me. I had one from not long after launch until earlier this year. For the price point, Series S + Game Pass ultimate is a great deal. Even after I got a PS5, I used the Series S way more than that.

I only upgraded to Series X as I had a voucher burning a hole into my pocket.

I also don't think its necessarily the case of developers having to separately develop and port Series S versions of games. A game optimised for the Series S and X consoles is broadly the same with the only real difference being the resolution and framerate options. There's usually some sort of HDR and upscaling wizardry going on that I wont pretend to understand so games like Gears 5, Forza etc. Will still have a "next gen" sheen.

If you are going from an OG Xbox One to a Series S you will definitely notice a big upgrade in speed with the SSD.

Having said all of that, if you are planning on getting a 4K telly and you have the cash then you may as well pay the extra £200 for the Series X. The ability to use discs, the bigger storage and the better display and framerate options are worth the upgrade if money isn't an issue and you game a lot.

  16. To be honest, I think these are gonna be good shows. There are too many good wrestlers on the cards for these shows to be bad. I still follow New Japan so maybe I just had realistic expectations given the venue size, what its being built up etc. It was never going to be a PPV level show loaded with singles and title matches.

This will actually be my first live wrestling since Royal Quest 1 so I am excited to see some live wrestling again.

Aussie Open v FTR for the tag titles seems to be the match everyone wanted as soon as FTR got announced. I love FTR so if this delivers what I think it should deliver then anything else on night 1 will be gravy. I expect an atmosphere similar to G.O.D v Aussie Open for this but a significantly better match.

In current NJPW, Zack and Naito is one of the biggest matches we could expect on these cards. These two work well together, its been building for a while and its in the main event slot so you're surely guaranteed a ****+ match. I've been a big fan of Naito for years but he's been in tags and trios every time I have seen him live. Really glad to finally see him (hopefully) put in a shift in a singles match.

I'm not wild about Ospreay but he does seem to go all out every single time he is in a singles match. I expect him and Umino will have a great match.

Ishii/Jonah I think will wind up being my favourite match of the weekend. Jonah is the exact sort of opponent where Ishii shines.

Theres enough on the cards that I expect to be good or great even though I dont care about these womens matches or anything involving the Bullet Club.
