Bischoff is on a different level of disparaging for both the book and Liam. Really, really defensive over it. It’s mental.

EDIT: @Liam O'Rourke what the fuck have you done to Bischoff 😂? It’s insane.

I think it's that Bischoff has a distaste for whatever reason for people who write about the business but haven't been 'in' the business, plus the fact that the whole Pillman working him to get out of his WCW contract makes Bischoff look a bit stupid.

  2. I'm really enjoying 83 Weeks (maybe because I just happened to be re-watching the WWE Network Monday Night War series and then discovered it), but there is no doubt that Bischoff doesn't really like admitting when he's been caught in a lie. Take the Bret Hart contract offer that Eric claimed he didn't make, only for Meltzer to say he had seen a copy of the contract, and Bret's family members saying they'd seen the contract, and Eric himself admitting in a Prodigy chat in 1997 that he offered Bret a deal, he still wouldn't accept that he was lying (and what a strange thing to lie about, too).

I haven't got to the Pillman episode yet, but I have been meaning to read Liam's book so might do that and then see what Eric has to say.

  3. One of our cats - Hera - had a little of four kittens about two years ago. We kept the calico one (Mia), the tabby (Moira) went to my girlfriend's best friend, the ginger and white one (Merlin) went to her other best friend and the black and white one, who I called Cow in place of naming him properly before he was given away, became Bubba and lives with my mum.

My girlfriend and her friend who had Merlin went away to Austria for the week. They just got back today. Before my girlfriend got back, her friend (who lives very close to the airport and thus got home much faster) called me, crying her eyes out, barely able to get her words out. Turns out, while she was away, Merlin went missing for like two days and her dad found him literally just as she returned from the airport. He was dead, having been hit by a car.

I feel so bad for her, she's so upset - just want to give her a big hug (but she's not here and, anyway, we don't have that kind of relationship) but it's kind of weird because it almost feels like a death in the family. We have Merlin's mother, father and sister here and I know cats don't give a fuck, but it's very sad. Poor thing was only just over two years old. Now my girlfriend and her friend are on the phone to each other, just crying and consoling. It's sad.

I look forward to the return of all these thin skinned posters.

Some people didn't have a big, public strop and then leave. They literally just stopped posting. I'm not sure this forum can really afford to lose posters who contribute well to the forum. No, you or I might not agree, at all times, with whatever these posters post, but it's a shame to lose them over something like this.

Seriously, what does downvoting (or upvoting, for that matter) even add? It added nothing. If anything, it reduced decent discussion not just because of the aforementioned posters who decided just to leave, but also people who might write a good post in reply to something but instead decides, nah, fuck it, an upvote will do. This forum is pretty small, in terms of internet discussion boards. I'm not sure what our active member numbers are, but they aren't massive. Some people are thin skinned, it's true, but so what? That downvote button - after the novelty had worn off for the more decent Paidos - did nothing but give a tool to pricks, in the main. Driving people away isn't at all what this forum needs.

Anyway, it's pointless discussing it now - we talked about it, the decision was made. It's done.

Has down voting gone?  That's a shame if it has as it was always fun to see some posters rep get lower and lower with each passing day.

Yeah, but is also drove some posters who were actually excellent contributors away, and I hope they come back now that it's been binned off.

If people have some problem with something someone else posts, I'd rather see them talk about it openly - even if it degenerates into a flame war. I'd much rather that than some anonymous, dickless wonder downvoting the posts of one person, no matter what they post, just because. Moo posted in paid members that one poster had downvoted another over 400 times. That person seriously needs to get a life and perhaps some therapy.

  6. I'm enjoying 83Weeks. Maybe I'm wrong, it seems like there has been a bit of a lack of WCW insider podcasts, other than WCW guys on WWE productions, which isn't the same. Yes, East E clearly talks a lot of shit but I really find it enjoyable. I might resub to STWW as well given that I don't mind Conrad.

I just saw full penetrative sex on channel 5, I'm not offended but I was extremely surprised, they showed the bloke's full boner going in, when did this become allowed on terrestrial? I used to have to wank to Eurotrash.

Update: Seconds later there was a bloke putting a massive black dildo up his arse.

Sounds like standard Channel 5 fare to me. That and a bunch of shows making entertainment out of poor people having their possessions taken off them.

Which one do you use? I've tried a couple different ones now. Currently have the Sharkk wireless. It's good, and the forward and back buttons are really nicely placed for binding when gaming.

Mine is nothing fancy but seems to work well enough.

Using a vertical mouse made a lot of difference for me. But seeing as it's your left hand probably won't have much impact.

I use a vertical, ergonomic mouse at my home desk. I like them a lot.

Have you got an occupational health/health and safety person at work? It sounds like it might be to do with the position of your chair/workstation, and they should be able to help.

No. I also don't think there are real payroll people or "offsite researchers" either. The whole thing seems like a bit of a spinning plates situation that might come crashing down at any time.

You're probably right about the desk, though.

  11. Every day that I work - and only when I work, at a desk job - and usually during the bus ride home and into my evening, the left side of my collarbone aches like hell. I'm trying to work out what might be the cause of this. It's so consistent that I'm thinking it has to be some type of repetitive strain injury or something from work, even though I'm right-handed. Or is it just that I'm old now and stuff hurts and it's normal?

  12. i'm not really a Twitch guy but Amazon is offering it's Prime customers two weeks of free games via Twitch if you link your Amazon and Twitch accounts. I'm not sure if I have to pay extra for Twitch Prime or not, as I'm already an Amazon Prime customer...I think not, but I'm not totally clear.

  13. If any norf Londoners fancy a change of pace from the football on Thursday, White Hart Comedy returns with our first show since early June (our space was being used to screen World Cup group games). This week we have Michael Capozzola headlining, who is a very funny American comedian. And we just added Brian Marlow, a US-pro comedian who was in the country to perform at Backyard Comedy (and see Queen) and is a mate of Michael's, so he's going to do a set for us, too.

This is all for free (and in support of Noah's Ark Children's Hospice) on Thursday. I've met a couple of ya already, would be nice to meet more London UKFFers!

  14. I've got two fans on the go at my place. When we moved in here, it was a new build and I at that time bitched that there was no air con. I figure with global warming and such, we should be getting used to quite hot summers and preparing for them.

  15. I won't deny to being a little ponging yesterday after having run out of deodorant in the morning and not wanting to put some on after I'd already sweated a whole lot because that just makes it worse.

I could have used the roll on deodorant that FIVE people ended up sharing at work yesterday. No. Sorry. You do not share roll on deodorant with anyone other that your significant other and even then only in a pinch.

  16. I replied to a Trump tweet once, I can't even remember what it said or exactly how many likes and comments it got (is there a way to check?) but I do remember that my at the time brand new S7 Edge couldn't handle the constant notifications. There was another one that nearly melted down my phone that was in reply to Milo Yianopolous that had a similar reaction though I'm less proud of that one as it was during my very brief, "the regressive left!" phase.

  17. I don't know how noisy those particular fans are but personally, I find the sound of the two fans I have on at night at the moment great. It's like white noise I can sleep right through, drowning out the sounds of violence and despair outside my block.

I haven't as yet. Still trying to sell the wife on it, as with a small baby whatever we watch is pretty much together now. Still on my list though, especially now you've reminded me!

The Orville would be, I'd say, the perfect sort of show to watch with wife and baby if light sci-fi is what you're after. I'd also recommend The Expanse, heavily, if you haven't already seen it although that is less wife and baby friendly.

See, the early reviews (along with the aforementioned Macfarlane concerns) were part of what made me avoid the show. I love TNG, so am more than willing to power through some teething problems if it's paying tribute to Picard and co. Will definitely give it a look.

Did you get through The Orville, in the end? Interested in your thoughts if so.

  20. I think that CBS could do a lot more to tentpole the Star Trek TV brand. I was always a fan of the original idea for Discovery, which was that it would be an anthology series where each season tells the story of a different crew.

I'd like to see what the TNG folk are up to now. Picard as an Admiral, Riker captaining his own ship etc. I know that there are the books, but they are so hit and miss.

  21. Lots of stuff on sale on Steam. I was able to pick up VoiceAttack at 50% off, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for £2.50 and Emperyion: Galactic Survival for £7. I also bought the ASTRA and William Shatner AI HCS packs for Elite Dangerous to make my Elite VR experience much more fun, but those weren't on Steam or on sale. I've also got a HOTAS joystick and throttle coming for Elite on Sunday. I am going to immersive myself inside Elite VR as much as I can and ditching mouse and keyboard for a HOTAS and voice commands with rudimentary AI is going to do that for me!
