  1. You think they should banh mi? Sorry, didn't mean to Hanoi you. We should be careful about ribbing Simon so much, though - one day we'll push it too far and find Si gone.
  2. See, I'd see that number and think "friend or pho?"
  3. Paul E looks like he belongs firmly in the 80s, not just because of his style, but his actual face looks like a variation on Jim Belushi's.
  4. That, and "D'ye get him? No, he's still flyin' around, he's makin' a mockery out of ya, boy".
  5. Sounds like he only deals with sexual harassment cases
  6. Ah, I see what you mean. Yeh, that looks a bit pony. A shame, because I love the artwork breaking up the yellow.
  7. I like the Norway shirt. Never had an issue with central badges in themselves - depends completely on the rest of the design, really.
  8. It's so weird seeing her as an old girl now, given that you posted a photo of her as a puppy (at least, I could've sworn you did). Doesn't seem that long ago.
  9. Wouldn't say nothing at all in the 90 - first twenty minutes or so, they were playing some of the best they have all season. The remainder of the main game, terrible.
  10. They're not bad; the spice creeps up on you. I know @Chris B has become a big fan.
  11. Add another to the chorus of voices saying "underwhelming". They're decent crisps, but not at that price.
  12. Bit of a shitty message to send to the roster, though, isn't it? Mokaev's had twice as many matches in the UFC as Erceg has, and he's undefeated. Very few fighters go their whole careers without at least one or two dodgy performances, and either way, he won it. And it's not like he hasn't had spectacular or entertaining matches before, either.
  13. Surprising. I thought Coker would've been part of the new PFL/Bellator merger.

Alright, I've played along and edited my post to piss off SuperBacon, smart guy.

What's the general attitude about men and women competing (or not) in darts? I've recently been watching the odd video here and there, and can't get much of a bead on what the discussion is like about Fallon Sherrock or Anastasia Dobromyslova, etc.
  16. Binge-watched this a while ago (was on season six when André Braugher passed), and it's genuinely one of my favourites now. Any success, even a small one, is now an excuse to yell "Bingpot!" whether someone's around or not. And Doug Judy is one of the greatest guest characters ever, if not the greatest. One thing I liked in particular about how Peralta was written was that his childishness was limited to just that. Very often, you expect a character like that to be written as completely unlikeable, because a whole load of other unpleasant qualities are connected to the immaturity, like self-centredness, inconsideration, etc., but instead he comes across as this lovely bloke who goes to bat for his mates and does stand up for good principles that he subscribes to. He's essentially everything the writers of Scrubs wanted JD to be and completely fucked.
  17. I want to know where you're shopping that a PS5 costs £500m.
  18. Depends on what circumstances you mean - I'd have said McG was the one who kicked it all off. He essentially showed MMA fighters that they didn't have to put up with the scraps from Plastic Caesar's table if they could show enough personality, or make connections with the right promoter.
  19. The discussion of Barrett's Wasteland finisher, and air_raid's mention of Mark Henry, got me thinking about good, established finishes that, done by anyone else, would either look shit, or just not convincing enough. The first one that comes to mind is the World's Strongest Slam. When Menry started doing it, it didn't look very good, mainly because it's a mid-match hold at best in normal circumstances. But when he started putting some stank into it, lifting them up a bit before throwing them (and himself) down with a yell, it looked the business. Finally, Big Mark had a finish that was worthy of him. I don't think it's what he was missing, as such - more that it was a sign that he'd finally figured out what he'd missed before and put it into his general character and performance in the ring. I remember that Smackdown battle royal where he came in and beasted everyone, eventually only falling to Angle (if I've remembered that correctly) - it was the first time I ever sat up and thought he looked tasty, and therefore was finally invested in him after years of apathy. Another, less prominent example was Mike Knox' flying crossbody. I've never seen anyone ever hit it like that before or since. Athletic guys hit it well, whether it's from running or off the top ropes, but it never looks like it should finish anyone, and actually the landing looks a bit clumsy (until the guys taking it started jumping slightly and bumping for it). But Knox' version just looked like he'd put you down permanently, throwing his whole body at you with venom, impact, and weight. One that was relatively short lived was when Cena started sitting out for a period with the FU/AA, rather than just letting them drop. It just looked better, even though sitting out doesn't really do anything to an opponent you've just let go of, much like with the F5. But it did seem like he was delivering it with more intent, instead of lazily letting gravity do all the work, which any fucker his height could do. He didn't keep it up, though. Great Khali's double-handed chokeslam was also good. Normally just a show-of-power move for a giant, but he made it look like the sort of finish that only a giant could pull off. Not bad for such a limited worker.
  20. With that Menry mention, a new idea for a thread.

There is an "Enhanced Games" being touted already. You can probably guess by the language it's being marketed with the kind of person who advocates it. https://enhanced.org/ One of the backers is Peter Thiel, which should tell you everything you need to know.
  22. 100%. I hated that finish - I'd seen loads of wrestlers over the years do exactly that to put people in position for top-rope stuff. I was interested to see how it would look after some time, after he'd had more practice. It seems to be the case with a lot of striking finishes. Kassius Ohno's spinning elbow was shite the first few times he did it, but it looked pretty brutal after he'd got used to the distance, foot placement, etc. Same with Jericho's Judas Elbow. As regards the Bull Hammer, I'd stopped watching WWE shortly after he adopted it, so I never got to see if it was any good later on.
  23. Maybe they should just skip all that and do a smoke-and-mirrors tag wrestling match. They're both OK talkers, so it could be fun.
