  1. I thought they'd hold off on this to be honest until the end of the year. I suppose it will fill this small arena adequately but I'd have gone with an alternative free agent with a name and use Aldis somewhere else. Supposedly they are crowning a 'National Champion' at this show but unknown if it's a tournament yet.

  2. I got really far behind on Impact while the World Cup was on but as soon as the Windsor tapings got going in the run up to Slammiversary it was excellent, as was the PPV. Particular highlights, amazingly, were Rich Swann on two consecutive occasions (Vs Rey Fenix, and the 6-man with Fenix and Pentagon against OVE which were both superb). Also Cage Vs Kong was everything I would want it to be, several laugh out loud moments during one particular episode, vast improvements in match quality across the board (an actual star rating from me for the first time in about 3 years - Broken Universe exempted), all the Su Yung hokum (that Madison Rayne spooky go home pre-tape was INCREDIBLE), the entire Pentagon/Callihan feud and even Killer Kross has turned out quite good.

The only stuff out of place is anything involving Grado.

I have no problem with Scarlett Bordeaux. I am however still 3 weeks behind despite this draw.

  3. I don't have time to watch the 3 hour shows they put on most weekends unless it's a PPV but I really enjoy watching the weekly TV product. It's nothing like any of the other wrestling shows and it's arguably quite removed from what they are building to because it's taped a fair bit in advance but it's just a lot of fun with good to great matches. I'm always a few weeks behind but that doesn't seem to matter and I like watching a few eps together.

  4. Just when you think you've seen it all, Buddy and Ali raise the bar of innovation yet again. Superstars. These two would get 5 stars getting out of the car.

  5. You build a fanbase first and then get them to buy tickets to shows, much like All In actually. That's what the free content is doing. They're almost halfway to 100,000 subscribers. I wouldn't even consider running a full show until they reach that point otherwise you're just gonna be another indy drawing 300-500 people. They also need time to introduce some new characters other than the guys they've been showcasing.

Anyway, Corgan can afford to run this promotion off of the interest from his bank account. Additionally this Pumpkins reunion tour will finance it forever most probably.

  6. I also immediately thought Ciampa/Gargano deserves, and demands, a Hell In A Cell blow-off. It would be fitting for a Summerslam Takeover show, but I guess it depends on how comfortable they would be doing that so close to a potential second WarGames. I don't think Team Gargano Vs Team Ciampa rocks my boat as much.

Agreed - I'm loving ROH right now. I've cancelled WWE network as I couldn't give a toss about any of it other than NXT, and it really frustrates me seeing talent do excellent work and then get "promoted" (AKA being shuffled into mediocrity). Instead I've purchased an Honorclub subscription and its absolutely brilliant! Great value! I've just finished watching both State Of The Art shows from this weekend - New TV Champ!

I truly think Honorclub is an absolute game changer for ROH.

You don't get the PPV's with Honor Club though do you. That's the only thing that bothers me. Well, plus the whole archive of shows isn't there. Not that I would have the time.....

  8. I am in love with ROH again. I don't know how this has happened. The TV has become really fun lately and watching what ever I have time for from the tour shows has really got me hyped for the big shows. Raw aside, a great year for wrestling so far :) .......
