The Video Nasties DVDs are worth it for the trailers alone. I love all the introductions on there, I could listen to Kim Newman talk all day. What a snappy dresser.

Yeah Newman was what made some of the reviews worth watching on the second one, he has a column in either Empire or Total Film where he reviews 4-5 B movies every month

Watched Video Nasties 2 earlier (I'd bought it in HMV last week), not seen the first one yet which I'm still trying to track down but this second documentary was superb if a little short (97 minutes) and continues on from the original talking about how the campaign against Video Nasties really stepped up after the James Bulger murder in 93 was blamed on Child's Play 3. It was quite shocking how fans of the films and some of the talking heads had to resort to using classified ads in fanzines or go abroad to buy VHS copies of the films, some even faced jail time and had their collections seized for daring to own such films and yet at the end of it it talks about how the head of the BBFC set forth a motion without permission but was later passed in court to legalise porn in this country and how it forced him to retire earlier than planned from his role, a year after which the ban on Video Nasties was upheld beginning with the release of the Exorcist

The whole set is fantastic as the second and third discs are crammed with mini reviews and trailers for the films on the section 3 list, totalling around 10 hours between the two, including Phantasm, the first two Friday the 13th films, Dawn of the Dead, Scanners and oddly the 1982 remake of The Thing

Taking advantage of this free preview week, so much good stuff to check out. Stuck on Capital Carnage from 98 just to test the player out, saving most of the good stuff for later in the week. Countdown is one of my favourite shows from the Network to watch on my usual sites and I noticed we are getting two episodes this week, the regular one tomorrow on thunderous returns and then a sneak peek of next weeks episode on Friday I believe

Yeah I wasn't fond of it either, if they had stuck to the prologue and had everything take place in the years after the original it might have worked i.e when the final girl was growing up

I was surprised to see Goldust still employed, why exactly is he still in a good spot

Goldust was brought back in October to save Cody's job after Triple H and Stephanie fired him, Goldie lost and was barred also until Dusty came to Raw and got his boys one last chance to earn jobs against the Shield at Battleground (the whole Rhodes family would have been banned for good if they lost). Cody and Goldust won then went on a hot streak as a tag team, beating the Shield for the tag titles on Raw thanks to Big Show and holding them for around 3 1/2 months before the New Age Outlaws beat them for the belts during a nostalgic run. Since losing the belts they have been on somewhat of a losing streak with Cody declaring after they lost at the PPV on Sunday that Goldust deserves a better partner (the angle here is Cody losing confidence in himself and holding his big brother back or something)

First half of the series was pretty dull but once they come off the mid season break and tied the story into Thor 2 and Winter Soldier it was fantastic viewing and like you said Loki, Bill Paxton was a great villain. I just hope they keep Ward on the dark side for season 2 and have Tripp keep Ward's place in the team

What fight were they watching? Groves didn't get a decent shot in till early in the 4th

Mark me down as another fan of the 3.5MB/Matadores e Torito feud. Looking forward to checking out the Hair v Mask match the day after the PPV, seeing as how they've stopped streaming the proper pre show on Youtube now.

Not a fan of the Crazy Alicia Fox gimmick, it's just flat out cringeworthy and makes me think that Paige is going to be jobbed out in a minute or less on Sunday just to spend more time on Fox

Wonder what Sandow has done to be so low on the totem pole, the guy has talent but has had some pretty embarrassing stuff happen to him as of late with the whole Davy Crockett stuff last night being a new low

Hang Time was a decent show that went on a couple of seasons too long, it also followed SBTB and California Dreams by having an episode where a main character had a pill addiction (Vince doing steroids to help him get into a basketball camp)

Guardians looks like being a hell of a fun movie. Not sure that BvS needs a subtitle though, I mean it's the Bat vs the Man of Steel what more do you need, class logo though

Watched that whole Raw DVD in one sitting after winning it on Ebay, save for a couple of Austin segments from his Co-GM run in 03. So much fun, the segment NEWM was on about actually led me to watch the Raw episode on Dailymotion that was the catalyst for it. DX and the McMahons were snide bastards back in 2000 weren't they?

Nice touch of Barrett using the Bulldog's theme after his promo. Was that German commentator, Carsen Schaefer, the guy that done the ring announcing at both the Raw episode in Germany when the European title debuted and the One Night Only PPV in Birmingham?

Dream Warriors, New Nightmare and Nightmare are the best of the series, Freddy's Revenge is bad but campy fun and Dream Master and Dream Child I haven't seen in years so can't pass judgement. Avoid Freddy's Dead save for the last 20 minutes

Finally deactivated my Facebook account a few minutes ago after getting fed up of stupidity on there. I deleted one old friend months ago as the majority of his posts were incredibly bitter rants about Liverpool FC, but the turning point was a 30+ year old guy threatening to hit me with wrestling moves for having the gall to post an opinion on his whiny rant/question on WWE Home Video UK's page, that and his cronies jumping in on it too

I just added the complete SBTB box set to my Amazon wishlist and tweeted that if anyone buys it me, I'll write an expansive SBTB book. Seems funny now, presumably less so if someone with a lot of disposable income decides to fuck up my next year.

Ah City Guys. used to loved that show. It was the perfect get over show when SBTB, California Dreams and Hang Time left the air. The Racism episode sticks out as a memorable one for me and I had a mad crush on the blonde girl Cassidy who was kinda like Kelly from SBTB and Tiffani from CD rolled into one
