I had to do a few searches but managed for find some Level 1 seats for £80 each looked ok via View from my Seat but will see where things are nearer the time

Yeah I looked at that and would consider that next time. I think some of the 30 quid tickets are now 50.

I can understand going for some higher prices, they are doing a layout that could probably get 60k. Which is smart make it look full and just block off behind the entrance and use that for hard cam too.

I'm definitely going but I've got no interest in buying tickets early like I did last year. I think putting them on sale this close to Christmas is madness, really. I guess Khan is banking on people buying tickets as Xmas gifts but to me it's a bit out-of-touch to assume this is a viable option for most people.

More than happy to be proved wrong when they've done 50k by next week.

to be honest if it was January I'd buy one and see how I feel. I can't really afford the 30 quid this time of year, and I'll likely get a shit seat in a month's time.

My partner may buy me a ticket but it won't be in the presale.

To put it into context, the candidate was not long term unemployed or later in life. He was 19, fresh out of college. But my point was, he never had a job, his whole life. No paper round, no Saturday job. No summer job in the holidays from college. I would expect someone has a basic knowledge of how work life is, before coming to their first full time job.

And that's not solely his fault. If he never had anyone pushing him to find a job or learning to drive, he's not going to understand. Whomever dropped him off for the interview, should have had a word in his ear to take the headphones off.

Apart from his qualification was in robotics, which is nothing to do with what we specialise in. He couldn't drive and we work in a rural area. So would have been difficult to get to us on a daily basis.

The now departed HR manager took that initial zoom interview on her own. After I had originally said his CV was not suitable. She then let him through to interview stage because he was more normal than the previous candidate. When it got to pre-interview the MD looked at the CV and said why are interviewing him, he clearly isn't suitable.

He also showed us a product he had been developing. In his right pocket was a Samsung mobile phone and then on a chunky 2m cable it was attached to a power bank, in his left pocket. He gleefully told us, his phone's battery now lasts for a week! He told us, if he replaced the battery in his phone, it still wouldn't last very long. (bollocks) So he took the battery out completely and put this industrial looking connector on it. He didn't see the downside that if he unplugged the connector from the phone, it immediately shut down. So he just made himself an unmobile phone.

We have in the past employed an older gentleman (mid 50s) who had been unemployed for a little while. His quirks included.

    - Falling asleep after lunch multiple times a week

    - Collapsed on the toilet, so now we have special locks fitted.

    - Told the workshop, he had been bleeding from his anus. And it was normal for a man of his age to do that.

    - Told us, he helped invent the Microsoft mouse.

    - Lived with his cousin in a lodge on a golf course. He brought her to the works summer BBQ. She brought along her book of erotic poetry she had written and told everyone, her cousin has a nice bum

    - Put on his CV that he was certified to do fine levels of soldering. He couldn't even solder two wires together. Then would blame the cable was faulty.

I get why you didn't hire the young guy but the part about the phone I think you may be are being harsh. His invention sounds a bit shit but he at least showed some excitement and wanted to do something.

My partner has issues with HR, the head of HR doesn't allow her to see CVs (my partner is senior to the head of HR) as she believes that it could bring age discrimination by basing whether you interview someone on their experience as a 21 year old can't have the experience a 30 year old can. God forbid you should want someone with experience. So my partner has to spend 30 minutes each interview asking about jobs because the CV is blank. She's started using agencies for anything she's interviewing to bypass HRs policy.

I can't tell if the old guy was interesting or a pain in the arse (yours, obviously he already had one).

They're a 17 year old apprentice. He just assumed he would get his 18th off.

Well I suppose apprenticeships are to learn from, and here that is if your unsure about policy ask.

I can't imagine management would hold that against someone in the long run, especially for a 17/18 year old. I wouldn't, I couldn't promise I wouldn't laugh at it though.

How are the long-term unemployed ever meant to get back in the game – or into work for the first time later in life – if that very fact is a leading reason for the people doing the hiring to be utterly dismissive?

You never know, those 'quirks' that supposedly made them unsuitable might have been them actually developing a personality while free from the rat race for a while.

Unemployment shouldn't mean a complete loss of dignity and equally, having a job shouldn't mean you need to leave your humanity behind completely for 8 hours a day in the name of being 'professional'.

Interviews are load of bollocks anyway. They cost companies time and money, clearly discriminate in favour of neurotypicals (as shown by your attitude towards a non-verbal candidate), are not fun for recruiters and even less so for interviewees. CVs ought to speak for themselves. If anyone lies on theirs they'll soon get found out, and it's technically illegal to do that so perhaps that law should actually be enforced more often.

Disagree they are a load of bollocks. They often aren't done well but that's different. A CV is bullet points no longer than 2 sides of A4, how can a company confirm the right choice from that? There will always be things that people want to know that aren't on a CV. If people pulled in the best CV then chances are lots more people would fail their probation and it also gives a chance for the interviewee to help decide  whether they want to join that organisation.

    edit

@SuperBacon why did they assume they would get their birthday off without saying out of curiosity? You didn't get a day off school for it. I've only ever had 1 job that does that but I still have to ask incase something big is happening that day, and so they know I won't be around.

We are looking for some new staff in my department at work. Computer technicians basically. And we have had 5 people come in for interviews and every one of them, had different quirks, traits and wouldn't have fitted into the current group.

One guy had never had a job before, turned up 15 minutes late and was wearing over ear headphones around his neck throughout the interview.

I don't expect a candidate to wear a full 3 piece suit. But another guy turned up wearing a sweatshirt with ET on the front of it.

One guy came in and the first thing he said was, he was really nervous and had not had a job interview in 6 months. He had been unemployed for 8 months. His parting words were asking me what the time was, when I gave it to him, he responded, he was off to the dr's to get his medication.

Another interviewee went through his whole list of failed job interviews and feedback, when he was asked what he had been doing whilst unemployed for the past year.

The problem we have encountered is, a lot of the candidates have the skills to do the job. But their personality and traits went against them. So it's a real struggle hiring someone based on that.

That sounds horrific, but I've spoken to loads of people who have at least 1 "wtf is this" candidate per recruitment process. I've received a job before because I turned up early and the other turned up late. Another because I was there and the other candidate had a breakdown mid interview.

I've never shown up to an interview with less than shirt and tie. Id honestly expect a shirt and trousers at minimum. It's generally seen as a respect thing. This company has taken the time to see you, put some effort in. Even if you aren't expected in that for the job.

Are you going back out or thought about inviting a couple back for a chat. Might be worth doing just to see if you can find out a bit more personally.

I've been off work for a year in the past due to medical reasons, and been judged on it. I think it can be tough to judge people on it. Fortunately 1 person gave me a shot and he promoted me twice within 13 months.

I cannot think of a single good reason why someone would ask that. Unless they mean the dance group?

I've only been asked it by public sector or public sector contracts. I have a generic answer I usually give, "if you were against diversity why would you live or work in London". Ive used that in 3 successful interviews I think. I might change it up next time.

  8. I always try to show a bit of humour. It isn't just about your qualifications but how you fit in and will you get along. Excitement, willing to grow, learn and a bit of humanism is often equal to experience. Some places I think didn't like the humour but would I want to work there?

I think when you ask about future it can go 2 ways, some can be impressed and glad you want to improve and some can be put off thinking someone wants to move on in a year or two. I've senses the latter a few times, they want someone who is happy to have a job and seem anxious about either recruiting again or that people will lose interest. Maybe these managers just aren't very good at engaging their staff and keeping them interested? Again, do you want to work for the latter.

My current job started as a FTC, I queried that and all 4 people interviewing (3 of whom had been there 20 years) all came in as temps. The manager as a 2 week temp contract. The point made that while this job may not exist in 2 years, if you're good we will get you something in another department (1800 staff so always jobs available).

A question I hate, is what do you think about diversity. Do they expect people to out themselves as racists?

I think they'll do 70k ish with the longer build and time to show.

    I'm for sure going again.

I don't think they will, I think longer build is needed to get 50k. Many went for the novelty, the novelty is instantly lost after the first time of running a stadium.

I also think that with WWE holding PPVs/ big events in Germany and France then there is less reason for people to come from mainland Europe.

I went back on it last night,.First time in weeks, and it's more and more obvious how out of date the roster and suchlike is. I wanted to go on as The Acclaimed or Daddy Ass for example, as its not like they've just joined, nowhere to be seen.

They really need an update with major roster updates and changes or get FF2 out ASAP

They need loads of updates, I think free costume updates is a must. At least free updates so you can make a decent Billy Gunn.

To be honest I'd be happy to pay £25 for an update next year with a new story, 10 or 12 new characters, a couple of match types, All In Stadium.

They need: Acclaimed, Hayter, Saraya, Swerve, Yuta, White,Gunns, Robinson, Jarrett. Probably more.

  11. Braverman comes across as almost a parody. The stuff that comes from her I wouldn't expect even the most cuntish of politicians to say. The policies she comes out with are like a something from a sketch ripping the piss out of politicians.

I noticed the tent thing included a dog on foreigners, and that's what will get many members of the public behind her.

Anyone know when the tickets go on sale and how they'll announce it?

    12th January.

I don't see this selling 80k. I think hitting 50k will be a big success. I think they should probably do Collision the night before at Wembley arena too. I think a lot would buy tickets to both and easily outsell a Collision elsewhere.

    I don't plan on buying a ticket for this one. I can't say I definitely won't though.
