  1. When they first started charging for bags I would take 1 and not pay for every time the self service checkout fucked up and staff had to help. Self service are now better so I pay for bags.

Creed. Bit on the nose, innit?

The Boomtown Rats. They did put out some bangers (Bob Geldof being a shitheel aside), but what the fuck is that name?!

Crash And The Boys. I know they're fictional, don't care, still a bad name.

Danny Dyer's Chocolate Homonculus. See Crash And The Boys.

3 Doors Down. Three doors down from what?

Sure I can think of more given time.

Danny Dyers Chocolate Homoculus was better than Man Feelings to be fair.

I raise you. King King. Awful band name.

My Dad liked them, I remember the first time he mentioned them I thought what a shit name.

  4. She's a former banker, she won't want to upset her mates.

I get it they didn't put this law into place, but what the fuck do Labour actually stand for? I know why I shouldn't vote Tory, but I don't know why I should vote Labour. They seem to be relying on Tories and SNP being shite. I could actually see the turn out at the next election being incredibly low as currently all parties look a bit shit.

Away from grandad reminiscing I've just heard my mum on the phone to my sister. They were discussing how my sisters work had gone today. I only caught the following phrase from my sister:

"Yeah work went alright, except for that Tracey. She may have had a double mastectomy but she is still a massive tit"

Tact not high on my sisters list of qualities if I'm honest.

I think I'm going to hell based on the amount I laughed at a dig at a woman with a mastectomy.

  6. The actual article says that lots of the policies will stay but numbering it with X amount of billion being spent is being used by Sunak to say well that isn't actually possible or this will generate more public debt. The reality is selling meaningful policies rather than saying I will spend 28b on green policies is better. If they commit to spending £28b, and don't spend it, I wouldn't trust a government (any, not particularly Labour) to not just blow the rest of shite to avoid criticism.

  7. I've watched most of the 3rd episode, a good episode so far. Gauntlet had been shit until this one, even the bloke who got through it got a bit of a beating and had to work. The second guy though, he knocks him sideways and keeps on doing it. The women still seemed to breeze past it, it's definitely an event where being small and fast to get through is ad advantage.

Edge was better this week too, the Gladiators seemed lost on it previously but this time they were doing proper tackles on them and knocking everyone off. The only time it had been interesting before was when the Gladiator falls off and the contestant just danced thinking that got her full points.

I don't mind Viper, he plays the heel similar to how you see at family wrestling shows and also how you would often see in 80s early 90s wrestling. He took a cheap shot, but then lost. Definitely one for the kids, but it's a family show and it's needed. He's no Wolf but Wolf was classic. Legend is funnier but it's good they have different types of bad guys. Legend is the smarmy twat, Viper is unsportsmanlike and Bionic just a bit of a nob (his head is too small for his body). I think the women's side needs more of a defined bad guy. Nitro and Fury seem like the good guys of the show and I can imagine Giant and Sabre being fairly popular with kids too.

That was bizarre. It was like she couldn’t understand how the contestant was holding on, then realised she was still holding on to her own rings, so wasn’t actually putting any weight on the contestant…

I thought the gladiators gave the male contestants a pretty easy ride yesterday. Definitely feels like they are trying to give them more of a chance than the original series. No one gave that memo to the bloke in gauntlet tho…lol

As mentioned, the eliminator already looks a bit sparse and underwhelming, but the amount they keep slowing down the travelator really isn’t helping. It’ll be pulling them up the slope soon

I have no problem with them slowing the travelator if nobody is completing it or someone has lost but they want to give them some dignity.

Understandable he's in a tough spot being the guys Son In Law but he's had time to prepare a much better response than that. There needed to be an acceptance, an accountablility and a promise that these things will be addressed and must never happen again.

Cody knocked it out of the park, looking 10/20 years into the future it certainly wouldn't surprise me to see Cody in a very senior role in WWE and the business will be in very good hands.

He didn't even need to give a real answer, he just had to say that solicitors have said not to discuss but we will assure people any accusations of sexual assault are taken seriously.

It actually worries me that people on twitter defend his answer. Even if he didn't know, he obviously doesn't give a fuck.

Maybe he should have worn a faux fur hat and sunglasses.

Just seen some of the clips on X and he doesn’t come out of it looking good. Clumsy answers on something serious. Cody did better I thought.

Did you know Vince sexually assaulted and trafficked this woman?

I don't give a fuck we just sold 48,000 tickets and signed a Netflix deal.

Whilst the Gladiators are not as good as the 90s, I can't remember the candidates being this good. Pretty much all of them are gym goers and have a job requiring high athleticism. I think this double whammy is making the challenges seem like a breeze for the candidates.

Definitely missing the original music too, but all in all it's great to have something we can watch as a family on Saturday nights!

They are definitely in far far better shape. I watched some 90s stuff on YouTube and they are generally fit but the current ones are more on athlete level.

Not to detract from how disgusting/disgraceful all of this is, but naming the dildo's after wrestlers seems really bizarre too. Wonder what was going on there.

Depends what he called them l, if he called the Hurricane, Kane, Big E or The Rock it could just be a joke that is funnier in his head than in real life. If he called them Dolph, Cena or AJ it would be a lot weirder.

This was one of my main thoughts over the first two episodes. There's some really competitive games, some really tough ones and then there's gauntlet. And I don't remember it being as easy as it looks now. It feels like the old Gladiators were bigger and therefore could smack the contestants around more and pin them down etc, while these ones are getting evaded pretty damn quick.

Or maybe it was always shit. I'm not sure.

I think it was always a bit shit but the older one I think had more gladiators to get past, I could be wrong.

  14. Finally watched the first episode. I wanted to watch it with my son, he said it was bummy so I just watched it by myself.  My takes:

    • I felt the men gave off a better face/heel dynamic. As a wrestling fan that probably matters more to me. I thought Finlay was a great underdog, not really arrogant, injured his kneed and still did the travelator first time. The women seemed to hug each other afterwards rather than brag. I want them to be dicks.
    • One of the gladiators basically humping the contestant for 10 seconds on hang tough was strange.
    • The gauntlet is a bit shit, just seemed an easy 10 points.
    • Barny Walsh is shit.

  15. I've got a job interview next week. It's similar to what I currently do, a bit more responsibility but about 8.5k more money that will increase by 1k each year.

I'm worried about getting it to be honest. I quite like where I work, I get 33 days annual leave (23 at this new place), I'm good at what I do and the last 2 times I jumped ship it went badly. If I get it and turn it down my employer could think fuck him he won't leave so we don't have to improve pay. If they offered me 2.5k (the next step up) I'd definitely stay.

I applied because people in my directorate often turn their noses up and sneer at what I do. My directorate is Environment and I run public toilets and litter bins. It's not particularly sexy like Net Zero team or recycling but it's rewarding. I kind of wanted to say well what I do can get me a better job than you. I don't actually want to leave and wasn't looking for work, a colleague just told me about it.

    Wish I hadn't applied

Ow right. Wikipedia said it was 16000 but I'm guessing that could be the whole building with the other arena seats as well. My ticket was £55 but its a good seat

The outdoor stadium is 16000, the indoor part is 3000. It is all teh same complex and what not just different parts. It's where RoH held quite a few shows I think, New Japan did Royal Quest 2 as well.
