The Dark Knight (2008)
If Gladstone and Frankie Crisp got together right now, they could supply Mr Seven with the names of everyone that voted for The Dark Knight, as well as their home addresses. Scary thought.
Â
Luckily this wasn't in my list

Yes, because we're always inundated with shower pics from the swathes of beautiful women that populate the forum.
-
In the future can we make a rule that topless shower photos of ourselves should be put in spoiler tags marked NSFW? Alternatively, and preferably, can we not post pictures of ourselves topless and in the shower on here? That's kind of weird dude.

It's ok, you've moved on and one day we'll be in a place where we can move on too. I'm glad you've found happiness with another forum, I hope it treats you well and provides you with the rep points we never could. I'm glad we can still be friends though. I'll never forget our time together.

OK, you do that, I'll destroy everyone at Street Fighter, then we've got out JLM night in covered from all angles.
Â
Did you get the A1 sized posters of his face I sent you?
-
he's definitely the poster I miss the most, like Chest, Houchen, Justice, Dent, Punkstep, Loki and yourself he seemed to post in virtually all the threads I was interested in. Mainly football, Xbox, music and movies. Very funny guy too. He does pop back in occasionally though, as if to tease us and let us know we won't be able to fill the void he left behind.

Haha, bizarre. But yes. It's one of those films I can watch over and over and over and still see something new each and every time. Like Gladstone says it's definitely darker and riskier than the first, and I'm one of the people who thought that every risk they took paid off. I love everything about it, the set design and how they transform the exact same set into 4 very different feeling places (I'm including both versions of 1985 here obviously), the music, the costumes, the incredible chemistry between Doc and Marty and between Marty and Biff, I could go on gushing for quite a while, but I'm just glad it made the list.
Â
How long was the wait between BTTF 2 and 3? I can still remember the To be concluded bit making me giddy in the cinemaÂ
About a year, maybe just under that.
Â
Yeah, they were shot back to back and were released in I think '89 and '90

David is far from a dolt though, he's an intelligent guy and at times does create good debate. My problem was when he was posting new threads all over the shop which were essentially just copy and pastes from news sites with "what are your opinions" underneath. He's one of the reasons the "comments that don't warrant a thread" threads have become more prominent this year I think. To be fair he hasn't been doing it for a while, but it was still this year which was why I voted for him.
-
This is another one that might get some split votes, I put Back to the Future 2 at number 3 or 4 I think. I'm hoping a few more people voted it too and it's still to come. I love the first but I find there's just even more to love in the second one, the amazing transformation of the Hill Valley square for 2015, hoverboards, the bleakness of alternate 1985 and rich Biff, the whole concept of the Sports Almanac, the overlaps of characters in 1955, especially at the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance culminating in the awesome Biff chasing marty down a tunnel scene, and fucking FLEA.
Â
This actually could have been my number 1. I'm getting excited talking about it.

Christ, that is awful. He uses about 10 promo cliches in a rant about not doing a promo. and "I don't deal in weaknesses" is possibly the cuntiest thing I've heard on here in quite a while. It would pain me to change my vote from ajmcstyles. But yes, I'd also be up for ridding this place of Khemical.
-
I still have to smile to myself when I think of the "combing the desert" and "jamming the radar" gags in Spaceballs. Perfect spoof materials. I'd have to agree with Chokeout though on Young Frankenstein being his best, with Saddles second. Robin Hood: Men in Tights is always worth a laugh too

That's the worst thing about having to rent a room in a shared house, not being able to get a dog. Your pics are making me jealous.
-
Maybe I've just lived with housemates too long, but the idea seems bizarre to me. Even if you're alone in the house, who's to say you still will be 3 minutes into a lovely shit? What do you do if someone comes in? Waddle over to the door with you pants around your ankles and a shitty arse, or let people see you having a shit. No, no, no this is all wrong.
-
Steve does strike me as the kind of guy who would take a shit with the door wide open. Not even judging based on his previous toilet-based abnormalities, just seems the sort.
-
Glad Alien made it in. Add me to the list of people who prefer the sequel, although again neither made my top 10. The Hurt scene has been parodied so many times now that it's easy to forget just how fucking terrifying it was at the time, it was one of those films I saw probably way younger than I should have done, and that scene freaked me out for a long time afterward

One thing that I do remember fondly from back then was the strong following for FWA, unfortunately it became it's own worst enemy.
Certainly agree with you there, I really miss the pre and post event discussions that used to go on in the FWA section of the forum, the hype for American stars coming over and the dissection of the early FWA:TV videos.

Ah so we would have had one Bond nomination then. Sad to see a vote for Demolition Man go uncounted though
Â
I reckon it should place anyway. It was pretty high up on my list, I know from the previous thread at least one other person voted for it, and presumably it was on your list also...
It didn't make my list, would definitely have been in a top 20 and it's one I had in my larger list that I had to whittle down, but unfortunately there's just too many great films, that's why I'm hoping other people voted for it. It'd be kinda sad if there was a film that was say, everyone on the forum's 11th favourite film, but because of that received 0 votes to make it into a top 50.

Ziggler. Still hate the name but he's put in probably the most consistent in-ring performances this year outside of perhaps Punk, and his selling always manages to make me do that sound that men do when something looks both painful and funny/impressive.
-
Paid Members had the chance to permanently ban ajmcstyles and didn't.
Don't get me started on that thread. I'll never forgive you all for that.
-
Yeah there's a lot of interesting things with top film lists, for example I know there's a lot of Star Wars fans on here, but with the vote getting split between them (well, some of them) it's probable they will get David Ginola'd. Same with a lot of the big franchise films, LOTR, Bond etc. I think it'll also be interesting to compare this thread once it's finished to the 'how old are you' thread and work out that the average age of the forum at the point they were 15-20 will be where most of the votes will have gone.
-
My aim is to put all of the films on this list that I haven't seen before on my LoveFilm list and work through them. 'Kelly's Heroes', for some reason, is one I've never gotten round to seeing so that's 1 out of 2 so far. Glad In Bruges got a few votes, not one that would make my top 10 but a great and very re-watchable film

I quite enjoyed Thrones being on a Sunday night, and April 1st is a Sunday so I'm hoping we get the same over here. Although with Thrones I've gone past the 'wait til it's on TV' and into the more obsessive 'download it 5 minutes after it's aired in the States' level so it doesn't really matter.
The Song Of The Day Thread

That's pretty good. I've never actually heard anything by them before, only heard the name in passing as a band that Morrissey recorded a few songs for before the Smiths
