I watched a documentary a while ago showing how CCTV in China(?) is used with face recognition and AI to monitor suspicious behavior (terrorism, bank robberies about to happen etc). The technology behind it is astounding.

You hear people saying there hasn't been any major leap forward in technology for a while, but it's the small advances we don't hear about that are making the most progress. To think smartphones only really became a thing ten or so years ago to now being at a point where any individual can be digitally tracked, analysed and pretty much recreated is mind blowing. 

Elon Musk was on a podcast with Joe Rogan a while ago and he covered some fascinating points regarding the future of human and AI interaction. Well worth listening to.

Aye, I don't watch traditional TV and haven't in years, but I'll still catch ads if I'm round at someone's house (grandparents etc) and be surprised at just how shite they are (the ads, though I could add the grandparents to that). 

I used desktop Internet recently without AdBlocker and you forget just how unusable the Internet is without it.

Had a white hot chocolate at a chocolate makers over in York today, and it might well be the nicest hot drink I've ever tasted. 

I'm not fussy about what I eat at all but the one food I can't stomach is Marmite. Think I'll give Bovril a miss actually.

I'm drinking a lot of herbal/flavoured teas lately. Usually get Twinings because I don't know what to look for and they're nice enough, although sometimes it feels like I'm just drinking Ribena and hot water.

That VW advert where the dad drops his daughter off at school. Has 'Bigger than Hip Hop' playing. I can't type any more without getting unnecessarily angry. 

Another bit of tech help please.

Family member got a smart TV in September. A Sharp TV from Currys/PC World. It was freezing whenever we tried connecting to the internet, and it kept switching itself off - I rang the helpline and tried running some basic diagnostics (just a couple of reset things with the remote) - person on the helpline said we'd have to take it in store for a repair. We did that and it's come back with the exact same fault. We've just had a TV repair man come out and he said we're going to have to get it replaced.

Before going into store though, what rights do we have to get a new TV? Family member doesn't have a paid insurance plan from Currys for it but I assume it comes under warranty. Are we legally entitled to a new TV, or are they allowed to take it and repair it again (family member will be without a TV again while it gets repaired and probably comes back with the same fault)? Ideally they'd like a new TV/refund to put towards another one?

Going back to a few posts previous. You can't blame them for coming across as WWE Lite. It's their first big show, they're going to be using to it to try and attract the right attention and be as approachable to sponsors as possible. 

I know us real dammit fans want a true alternative more than anything - and we can hardly be blamed for that having had an industry dominated by one company for just shy of 20 years. 

But they're still in the early days - WWE spend a shit load on working out what is best for their audience (lol) and advertisers. For the owners (I don't know who they are, I haven't followed it much), they're getting their product likened to the current market leader. 

If they're going to become an alternative then it will take time. We've all seen what happens to other companies that come out the gates trying to be anti-WWE. 

Just give them time. 

Unpopular opinion but Sugababes were far better. 

A lot of kids over here will be into WWE because their dad's were fans of Hogan/Bret/Austin. It would take something special for any company to quickly overtake WWE as the most popular brand in the UK. Madness to even suggest such a possibility. I mean, have kids/teenagers these days even heard of ITV4?

Ah that's a brilliant explanation @scratchdj- thank you. Speaking of 3 OS's, I had a phone a few years ago that ran on MS/Windows and while the OS seemed pleasantly unique, I remember there were barely any apps available. 

Can somebody explain what's going on with Huawei? I've not followed what's going on at all. All I know is there's some problem between the US and China over it and it may stop Huawei being able to work with Google? 

I ask as I have a Huawei phone and I prefer it over any Apple/Samsung/Google phone I've had. 

If Huawei can no longer work with Google from China then they're essentially going to be useless without Android, right?

This is no coincidence - if he had the amount of screen time most of the roster have he'd have a fraction of the appeal he does now. 

I watched an Arn Anderson promo the other day that's a couple of minutes in length. It was gripping and it built up so much intrigue and anticipation for the angle, even watching it out of context. I can't imagine he'd have done that had he opened up an episode of Raw and tried stretching it out for 20 minutes.

Well, fans need some incentive to keep watching. 

They should bring in new titles for each gimmick/stipulation match and have one title defense of each until they've gone round the clock. Would need to be careful if HIAC/Elimination Chamber title matches landed on the same night, maybe do HIAC on Smackdown and EC on Raw that week? Would be mental. 

Hm, I'm not usually a fan of the stuff like that in the first post, but I don't think that one is particularly offensive compared to others. It actually looks clean for a spot that dangerous and there's a reasonable sized crowd there. I don't doubt though that it's stupid and unnecessary. 

Someone posted a powerbomb from a ladder through a table spot where the guy taking the bump got straight back up, ate a pile driver and then still kicked out. That's far worse.
