I was up a ladder once and my wife bumped into it so I threw myself off Money In the Bank style and broke the bed slats.

Please tell us your wife then climbed the ladder, unscrewed the lightbulb and now carries it around in her handbag waiting for an unsuspecting moment to cash it in on you.

There's a set of railings near where I take the pooch for a walk, and they have three horizontal bars across. Perfect for standing with your feet on the middle and top ropes, and taking a moment to look around at the fans in the arena.

PWInsider reports that Borash has been signed to work on NXT.

Pleased to see this. I was about to post saying I hope he's ends up working with NXT. As others have said, he's as talented and versatile as they come. Of course, he'll be expected to fit into WWE's ways but I reckon he'll be given a decent amount of freedom in NXT. Vince and co seem to have gotten over their fetishes for bullying anyone who came from outside WCW/TNA since Triple H beat Sting, so he's in a much better environment than if he'd joined five years ago.

I'd love to read a mega post on Borash's career/time at TNA. I imagine someone like Ian could make a cracking post about it.

There's no way you only just found that out Steak!

Ha, it is I'm afraid. No idea how I'd not noticed them before. The 5 button on my keyboard does too. I'll keep you notified if I find any more.

Actually a pretty good idea, Xavier Woods - for obvious reasons - would be a natural host/presenter for it. And it's a market that's supposedly going to grow massively over the coming years. I still don't understand why.

You talk to anyone under the age of 18 and they spend more time watching YouTubers talking about naff all or playing video games than they do real sports. It's already massive but yeah, they think it's still miles away from how big it will get. The number of people who watch some of the big esports tournaments and events is *insane*. There are a ton of tournaments now where there's $1,000,000 prizes. Search google images for 'esports tournament'. They look like Wrestlemania already.

  5. He'd have been better off sticking that $100 million into launching an esports league. There'd be so much crossover with the production/behind the scenes staff that could launch the concept and even potentially another Network type platform where people paid $10 a month to stream all the content they wanted. A cross between Twitch and the WWE Network. Build a big gaming studio where they sign up the best players and have them all stream for a few hours a day. They could even end up doing live events and an esports version of Wrestlemania. If Vince wants to make it big outside of wrestling, I reckon that'd be his best chance. There'd be no problem getting sponsors and investors on board either. It's a matter of time before there's an esports company that's like a cross between WWE and UFC, in the way that the players and the content is produced. It's a shame Vince isn't ploughing the money in to it.

As it is, and as others have said, the XFL thing should make for great car crash telly and an eventual documentary.

  6. Gus, that's a cool fact but I'm not sure it checks out. Even if the parents of each generation gave birth at the age of 50, that would mean the first child was born in 1840, and the grandchildren born in 1890. That would make the grandchildren 128 years old.

Actually decided to google it. Curiosity got the better of me. The ages were 75 and and 63 respectively when they had their children. That's some longevity of sexual activity, especially considering the shorter lifespans back then. Blimey.

Getting away from specific Wrestlers, to me the root of the problem is they just aren't cool, it's not THE place to be, in fact it's miles from it.

Can't agree more, there's just no buzz about TNA anymore and there hasn't been for years. It's not easy to build a buzz around a promotion but Lucha Underground, NXT and NJPW (+ countless UK indies) have all managed it over the past half decade. Up until the late 00's, TNA seemed like it was on the verge of becoming something special. I still remember non-wrestling mates/lapsed fans talking about TNA in a positive way. Memory might be playing up a bit, but I think it all ended around the time of that January 4th show where Flair, Jeff Hardy and every turned up. It's been naff from then on.

Since that period, WWE have really cornered the market when it comes to pushing 'better wrestling' and the smaller guys. Since Punk and Bryan came along, and with NXT, WWE have consistently put out the 'best wrestling' in the US, to the point where the novelty has worn off and you could argue they've squeezed the orange dry on that (to paraphrase a poster from here a while back).

I don't know what TNA can really do to stand out, and I'd argue it would be as hard as it's ever been now to really try and compete with WWE. At least when WCW/WWF were booming in the late 90's there was so much interest in wrestling that you'd be able to make a living picking up the crumbs.

The only thing I can think of is by trying to bring a NJPW style product to the US but I can't see that taking off, and even if it did, I doubt it'd be profitable. They're fucked on US soil, I reckon.

  8. Absolutely, Chest. It's the wonder of the unknown that's always appealed to me regarding space. No different from our oceans. No matter how much we learn about them we'll never be able to comprehend the sheer scale of what's there.

  9. If you're sailing in the middle of the ocean, you're further from people on land than you would be as an astronaut on the international space station.

Pretty obvious considering the ISS is only orbiting at about 250 miles, but it was underwhelming realising that fact as a space nerd.

  10. Minor dilemma, guys. I like a girl and I'm hoping it'll lead to a relationship soon. I'm mates with a girl from work who has a thing for me - she's asked if I wanna go round to hers to watch a film. I'm not interested in her in *that* way, nothing would happen. She knows I like someone else. Do I just tell her I like someone and we can still be mates, but leave it to just hanging around at work and maybe grabbing the odd coffee after work?

  11. Captivating promo. At some points, Roman looked like he was about to rip Cena's head off. But as someone else said, Reigns also looked like he'd forgotten his line. Reigns did well but he was completely overshadowed by Cena. At times it was reminiscent of Triple H's "His one good move is pumping his Reeboks" promo on Cena himself.

Cliched, but it really is about booking people to their strengths. Strowman is proof they can still get the job done. If Cena can do to Roman what Edge did for Cena then this could be blinding feud.

  12. Used to post on a forum that used the same voting system and it was great. Easy way to work out the best/worst posts at the end of the year, and it was amusing watching some of the mongs throwing hissy fits when they got downvoted into oblivion. Wonder whether Moo can add a leaderboard with highest voted posts of the week/month - there's a lot of threads I don't read anymore but would still like to read the best posts (Post of the Year thread was good for this when it was more active).
