  1. Spider season's back upon us. Saw a shadow scuttling along the sofa and I had get off it like Linda McMahon out of her wheelchair at WMX7. We can only dread the impending invasion looming after the blazing summer we've had. They're gonna be huge this autumn. "House" spiders indeed.

  2. It was just of a picture I found on Reddit, nothing particularly interesting. I don't even have many followers which makes it more surprising it gained so much traction.

  3. Has anybody bought a Magnum ice lolly this year? The fucking size of them. Barely any bigger than a choc ice. Even bought one from a second shop on the off-chance I'd picked up a smaller version before. Nah, and they're still overpriced. Fucking Magnums.

Any recommendations for other ice lollies?

  4. Agree with Coconut, last year was a good season. Verstappen kept pushing, Ricciardo was entertaining as ever, and obviously Vettel pushing Hamilton was great. I'm perhaps naively hoping Alonso will be in with a chance of a couple of podiums with McLaren getting the Renault engine. The cars look fresh this year, and the halo looks better than I'd thought. The new Sauber Alfa Romeo is the 4-wheel version of Alexa Bliss.

If Red Bull can get a grip on their reliability and Ferrari can keep some level of consistency, then we could be in for a cracking season. The midfield could go anyway, but I'm expecting Force to come out well, and have a feeling Williams will struggle this year.

    And it's going really well

Once you've made it in the WWE, with his band, books, podcasts, and whatever else he's done, being able to play what he wants to play to even a few dozen people could be feel like a success at that stage, if he enjoys it. I'm far from being a Jericho fan, but I've often wondered what you'd have to do for enjoyment if you ever made it wildly successful.

Not having a knock at your post there Wyatt, but if he's enjoying it then fair fucks to him.

  6. I'd rather Strowman not be at Wrestlemania at all than put in a throwaway match. Have him flip on an official/Vince in the run up and ban him from appearing on the show. Crowd will be chanting for him through the WM show hoping he'll be a surprise addition to main event. If the fans are gonna Steve Justice on Lesnar/Reigns anyway, then they may as well use it as a way of getting more support behind Strowman. Then he can turn up on Raw the following night to a massive pop and smash everyone/thing up Nexus style, and keep him hot through the summer and have him take the belt off Reigns at Summerslam.

You could get three big PPV matches off this with Strowman and Reigns in the summer for the belt. The first Strowman can get DQ'd, the second he smashes Reigns up and he gets stretchered out to a no contest (like Rey/Sabu), and then have the Summerslam match in Hell in a Cell or No DQ.

Today I learned what it's like to stand on one of these wearing only socks.

For anyone wondering what it's like, you should try it. It's mint.

That must have hurt a bit.

  8. That's awesome Hayashi, well done. Even if you haven't saved much money, at least you won't have wasted as much. And even if you have, you've probably spent it on things you wouldn't normally have. I don't save much more than I did when I was drinking, but I'm spending more money and time on activities and things I never did before.

While we're here, I almost crumbled last night. Went to a snooker centre and there were some pints on for £1.50. It was costing more for a glass of coke.

  9. Today I learned that 'dilemma' has never been spelt with an 'n'. I always thought it was dilemna. Apparently I'm not the only person who's thought this though. There were loads of us*. What was that thing someone posted on here where loads of people mistakenly think something is correct? (Mandela Effect)

  10. Travelled over to York Railway Museum today, and as luck would have it, there was an exhibition with the spacecraft Tim Peake used to get back from the International Space Station in. As a noted space fan, this was a total surprise and I was awestruck standing next to it.

  11. @SpursRiot2012 You considered bar work Spurs? Relatively easy way of earning money while you're socialising if you get in at the right spot. Also, you seem pretty adamant about going back into your sales job, but from your previous posts about it, your manager was keen on you. Can't you negotiate a full-time wage for three days a week? Knowing that it's only something you have to do for another few months will give you light at the end of the tunnel, and won't be much more of a chore than it is trying to go through the process of finding a new job and sitting interviews. I know you're pretty against the sales gig but it's not something you have to put up with forever is it.

  12. Hawking mentions in A Brief History of Time that the detectors such as LIGO that are built to find gravitational waves can detect displacements of less than the nucleus of an atom over ten miles. Mind blowing really.

    Edit: +1 for Double Deckers

  13. Was thinking about how much I'd like to see an opposite of NXT. Like the same hour format but for veterans rather than newer guys. Road Dogg, Bubba, Rhyno, X-Pac etc. Have it less scripted and I think it could be a good laugh. Have Flair rambling as GM. Just use the NXT set and change the LED's. Bring back the old 90's tag belts of course.

I was up a ladder once and my wife bumped into it so I threw myself off Money In the Bank style and broke the bed slats.

Please tell us your wife then climbed the ladder, unscrewed the lightbulb and now carries it around in her handbag waiting for an unsuspecting moment to cash it in on you.

There's a set of railings near where I take the pooch for a walk, and they have three horizontal bars across. Perfect for standing with your feet on the middle and top ropes, and taking a moment to look around at the fans in the arena.
