Well that was a fucking shite conclusion to a brilliant series (know we can draw but barely care).
-
Yeah, a truly horrendous take by someone who ought to know better. For shame.

Wiltshire Council released its housing plan last week and the amount of news articles with NIMBY wankers having a meltdown about houses being built near where they live is sweet nectar to me.

He'll be jerkin' over Birkin tonight that's for sure.

Books is a forgotten one.
Skagboys, which is a prequel to Trainspotting, is pretty shit, and was very unnecessary.Â
Aye, like many crap sequels it very much felt like 'creator needs some money again' was the main driver for that. Though fair shout @Gay as FOOK if you did enjoy.

I'd like to throw my sixpence in for worst prequel (at least in written form). Hannibal Rising, an utter mess of a book created under duress and the worst thing I've read since Naked Lunch.

It's a crying shame he's extremely likely to stay out on the West Coast (well, for those of us living here) because he's so much fun to watch. Really one of those cases where superlatives run dry. Leading the league in home runs and just a tick below Cy Young calibre pitching. Game has been played for 150 years and this is the most impressive player ever.

People who appeared in ITV's Comedians is goldust for this. The Hulkster, Russ Abott, still dropping the big leg despite being 70 in the early 80's.
-
Mike Yarwood. Given his career was completely dead by the mid 80's I'd always assumed he'd died in the 90's like Larry Grayson who followed a not dissimilar trajectory. Still time for a comebacks. TikTok would go apeshit for Harold Wilson impressions.

Les Dennis on Saturday Kitchen. Les Dennis in anything.
-
Short of him carking it by Bonfire Night it's definitely not his final UK show. He's playing a charity show in Westminster Hall later in the year before facing HHH at the Rumble.
-
The fucker's retirement tour has been longer than some full careers. He's gone full Terry Funk with it.

Completely deserved too. Their capacity to reinvent themselves at this stage at their career and not be shite while doing so is pretty much unparalleled. Veronica Lake from their most recent album sounds like nothing they've done before and like it was made by people 50 years younger than them.

Got an aircon unit for the bedroom. First good night of sleep in a fortnight.

I did enjoy it when they wheeled out the Bee Gee for the old duffers set a few years back. That was good fun to watch.
I'd be well gutted if I'd spent a bunch of money with great expectation and ended up with 2023 Guns N Roses and Elton fucking John as the weekend headliners.

I can't stand it. Ruins 6 Music for about a month between ads and shite live versions of songs every half hour. Plus all the roads round my neck of the woods all get jammed. Fucking ban it.
-
I've gone to herculean efforts to postpone or bin off about 5 meetings today in order to go down the pub and watch. Please win the toss. Please don't get skittled for 120.

Happy McGrath predicts 5-0 day everyone.

Likewise @Pork Pie gutted about Yan, though it's hardly surprising when he seemed to be deepest in the clag after Lian Wenbo from the initial reports. One of my favourites because of his style which is so much more safety orientated than most of the good youngsters.
A day that will live in snooker infamy.

I'm finishing a two part biography of Charles de Gaulle translated from French. Great read. Taking away his politics etc he sounds like an absolute fucking nightmare to be around.
Also getting back into reading philosophy a bit. Half way through Critique of Pure Reason by Kant as a prelude to reading some Hegel which I've never done before. It's like making your bonce run a marathon, can only read about an hour at a time before it hurts.
