Scott Walker was next in line for me but didn't want to post too many. Brilliant voice in the pop or avant garde phases of his career.

Spinning out of the people who are pleasing to listen to thread. Your favourite singers and why. Not the best or most technically gifted necessarily (though they can be), but your favourites.
Tom Waits. The voice of four packs a day and change. Always loved his vocals from Heartattack and Vine (both the album and the title track) which was before he reached peak-growling and started pissing about with replacing drums with people wanging fence posts and the like. Missing out on seeing him live during the Glitter and Doom tour in 08 is one of my biggest music regrets - 'oh, he'll tour again' - will he fuck.
On the complete other end of the spectrum, our Roy. His range and power are incredible but it's the vulnerability in his voice which sets him apart. Songs which otherwise might be drippy or saccharine somehow work when he's singing them. Held up remarkably well too (well, until the massive heart attack), he sounds as good during Black and White Night in the late 80's as he did here in his youth.

The Lord's work with that playlist. That's gym music sorted for the foreseeable.

Between playing for Surrey and referring to Somerset supporters as "peasants" after copping it at a t20 a few years back I've never been the biggest fan.

Been listening to a lot of Bobby Womack and Sam Cooke recently. This from Womack's last album in 2012 completely passed me by at the time but it's excellent. Remember reading somewhere a description of Womack 'singing like his life depended on it' which fits perfectly.

I bought a bunch of 15p parsnips from Aldi the other day and batch made parsnip bake. Cheers for the red cabbage tip, might do a batch of that tomorrow and all.

Bee Gees live in Las Vegas from 1997. It's great and it's shit. Robin Gibb's atrocious hair. Barry singing the breathiest version of Tragedy ever. Maurice dressed as the Manx Undertaker. Still really enjoyable though.

Put this banger on the pub jukebox last week. Crowd went wild.

1 hour ago, Dr. Alan Grant said:
I’ve recently started a second playthrough after putting nearly 300 hours into it on the first run. I was utterly obsessed with it at launch for a solid 6 months. Probably in my top 5 games now. How far into it are you?
About 22 hours and up to level 40. Haven't progressed the main story much beyond beating Margit. The scale is breathtaking, was just pissing around and found the Sirora river underground bit. Yeah, could easily see it becoming a top 5 for me too, staggeringly beautiful.

Realise I'm late on this but Elden Ring - what a game. Tremendous fun and enjoying the challenge. Best thing I've played this year along with Resi 4.

I watched Bess a lot when I was a Somerset member and he was fine when we had spinning decks but went to shit after we got out points deduction and went back to flatter tracks. Hasn't got the accuracy of a Leach to hold down an end or the variation or revs of a leggy or Mo to be a consistent wicket taker. Saying that, he could get ten-for on the dogshit wickets we're likely to get in this series.

The price of olive oil. I know there's reasons why beyond bog standard inflation but it's about doubled at Aldi over the past year.

Articles referring to basic life advice or the blindingly obvious as "hacks".
'Get a squeaky clean ring with these five amazing hacks for wiping your arse 1. Make sure there isn't still shit on the bog roll when you finish up.'

Enjoyable tournament overall, particularly as we got towards the latter stages. You run out of superlatives for O'Sullivan, there's nothing I can add which wasn't said on commentary yesterday.
And now to the Shoot Out. So a few days off watching for me.

I love the traditional version, it's definitely worth cooking. Mrs Mears finds the peppery flavour a bit much, so added a few things like chicken stock, mirepioux and butter at the end to soften it.

One post in:
"Sometimes i'm angry at the world, sometimes i'd like to punch a lot of people."
You can't fault his consistency.

Much like November next year, I'll accept anything other than a Trump win.
Handsome Hoss vs Ronnie II - here's hoping to it going closer this time than at thr Crucible.

Not even his rampant noncing stops this being a stone cold banger.

I said to my fiance, if this be our wedding dance.
Then I would wear the dress and I would let her wear the pants.
And now she is a doctor and I live inside a bin.
It's plain as day to see that it was me who got the win.The last laugh was mine. THE LAST LAUGH WAS MINE.
My liver's shot, I've gone to pot, but everything is fine.
The last laugh was mine. THE LAST LAUGH WAS MINE.
I need to phone the doctors in the moooooorning.
*Fiddle solo.

Keep one eye over your shoulder, lads. None of us might last to the end of Eastenders at this rate.

Couldn't hold off any longer. I just know I'm going to need to by replacement cheeses for some of them by Sunday.
