I don't imagine there are many people on this forum who have watched fewer films than I have tbh. Its nothing to do with attention span or anything, as I've happily watched Der Untergang (Downfall) and Lincoln more than once, and both of those are nigh on three hours each. Its more to do that there's not a real cinema within a 40 mile radius, and I watch so much Football etc, that there's only a certain amount of hours in a day. I'll make the effort if its based on a historical event I'm interested in, or hilariously funny.
Would I say I hate films in general? No, but neither are they a priority in my life either.
Â
Most of the people I know who like Wrestling, also tend to watch a lot of films, read comic books, collect DVD's and shy away from sport in general. My Dad taught me as even as a kid to treat lads who don't like Football or Rugby with suspicion, which was probably wrong on his part, but its difficult to fight it sometimes!Â

Same here, incredible show. Â Had heard of Livewire but always thought it was just a recap show. Â That Heyman call must have been a work? Â Still fascinating to hear them talking so candidly about fake Razor and Diesel, WCW etc. Â Was that version of the show (phone in rather than weekly recap) aired in the UK on Sky?
Â
I don't remember Livewire being like that tbh. Ours must have been a different version.

Interesting visual! Don't think I've seen Cornette and Russo on the same shot before.

In my mind, action figures still cost £4-£5 like the Hasbros did when I was a kid.
I'm still shocked (god knows why I should be) when I see them for sale for £10-£12 in Tesco or what have you.

Tazz recently signed a new deal didn't he? Weird that they hire Matthews when they canned Todd Kennely.
-
The WCW ring had a steel cage and sound box thingy, it was streets ahead. (Nothing to do with my breaking my hasbro one after falling off my bunk bed a week after getting it)
-
It genuinely wouldn't surprise me if they were trying to claim everything under their current ownership as 'WWE' events these days.
-
Wrestling seems to attract or breed utter weirdos in this respect.
Â
That story made me really sad but thanks for sharing it, certainly an eye opener.
Â
I don't think its as bad now, but I imagine that Wrestlers are forever looking for acceptance as they don't get respected by their peers in the sporting world as its all predetermined, and don't get kudos from the entertainment industry either because, well, its wrestling. It falls between two stools.

There was a guy called James from Kentucky who got abused mercilessly for being such an awful caller.
-
That takes me back! As a 16/17 year old I used to listen to Meltzer's eyada shows every night at 11pm.
-
I didn't realise the shows were scripted to that degree. Even experienced heads like Jericho and Triple H are having to reel off crap word for word.
-
Fucking hell that's brilliant!
-
It was a time when WCW was definately on the up while the WWF really was in transition. Its understandable I suppose.

Easy E has a shoot interview coming out next week with RF Video.Â
What are you memories of.....erm.....booking Nitro?
I assume that's still how RF shoots go.
Â
Don't forget "Were you a Wrestling fan growing up?"

Listened to Colt's podcast with Jim Ross tonight, and its one of the worst constructed interviews I've heard. You have a guest like JR, who's been active in the industry since the late 70's, yet I didn't feel I learnt anything and was just a wasted hour really. Surprised as I used to really enjoying listening to Cabana's shows every week.

WWF UK Rampage 92 advert. Possibly one of my earliest wrestling related memories.Â
Â
Ha, forgot I'd uploaded that!

I'm a little disappointed in The Monday Night Wars series. It's only 3 episodes in and it's already covered the origin of Nitro, The Rise of the nWo and episode 3 is a love letter to the attitude era. Christ knows how they're going to stretch this out for 17 more episodes
Â
I wouldn't worry, these series' seem to skip time a lot. The Wrestlemania Rewind started off well but by episode 3-4 it had already reached past Wrestlemania 20 which I was peeved off about and was worried it would just harp on about the more modern feuds, but then it seemingly went back in time again.
-
I really enjoyed the Tony Schiavone interview on JR's podcast today.
-
I haven't watched that tbh, might give it a whirl if it's decent then.
-
The last modern day shoot I enjoyed was the AJ Styles one.
-
It will be interesting to see how much the Nitro episodes will have been butchered. I imagine the WWE owns less of the WCW theme library than it does of its own, so it'll be disappointing (although necessary of course) to see if Chris Jericho comes out to his WWE theme music etc.

Well, seeing as Spike TV is the main source of TNA's income, it would be fair to say that the wage bill would have to be slashed in half (that's being very generous). Seeing how lacklustre the roster already is, it would be nothing more than a glorified ROH would it?
-
I like his announcing on the whole, but hated that 'oh my goaaaad!' screech he did.
-
Nor is a target of higher ratings realistic when I've seen Preston City Wrestling shows with more star power than the current roster.
If they couldn't get better ratings in 2010 with a stacked deck, what chance do they have now?

Man utd wanted him when he went to spurs, not to rangers. I do wonder how his career would have been if he has went to United.
Â
To be fair, I'd say Venables did okay looking after him. It didn't start to unravel really until he went to Lazio, I'd say that was a bad career move.
Â
I'd rather think of Gascoigne like this rather than that depressing photo

He also likes to tell the world he lives in leafy Cheshire when he lives and spent most of his life in Haawarden, Flintshire (not that I want to claim the cunt as a north Walian or anything).
