Apparently he thinks TNA is a a career killer. But I don't get that.
He's burnt his bridge with the WWE anyway so what exactly is TNA killing? I doubt AAA would give a shit if he's been in TNA. Lucha must be paying him even more.

Mr Anderson's as popular as ever I see!
-
I hope the BDO aren't as po faced as they have been in the past with some of the BDO registered Q-school entrants who don't receive a card.
A lot of reports about players returning to the BDO being given the cold shoulder for daring go to the 'dark side'.
Remember this terrible write-up when Anastasia smashed Lakeside favourite, 'The Golden Girl' a few years back?

Lawler made his on-screen debut on Prime Time Wrestling in late '92 I think.
Yeah, I was watching the first episode of Heat last week as it happens. Shane McMahon escorted by two dolly birds after being introduced by Vince, and making Jim Ross shift from his seat.

Well I signed up last night and apparently its being taken on Jan 30.

I know this is weeks old now, but there are so many podcasts to listen to that I download a few if the guest sounds interesting. I thought Meltzer on Austin's show would make good listening, but they spend over half of it banging on about UFC which I found very annoying to be honest.
Only speaking on a personal capacity here as I have no interest in UFC at all. Where has this assumption come from that if you like Wrestling then you automatically like MMA?
A show featuring one of the top three wrestlers of all time, and the premiere Wrestling newsletter writer, and they waste a huge portion talking about something other than wrestling? Very odd.
The mad thing was that the second part of it was really good and I enjoyed Meltzer talking about Vince's answers to Austin's earlier interview where he was trying to argue that it isn't wrestling any more.

I respect Adams in so much that he throws terrific darts for a 58 year old.
But like most people outside of 'The home of Darts' clique, I hope he gets smashed tomorrow night. I think he honestly thinks of himself at a level akin to Bristow after winning the BDO title on 3, possibly 4 occasions after tomorrow.
His comments about the PDC just piss me off, saying its not proper darts. The only situation where the PDC isn't proper darts is if you consider superstars like Gary Thompson facing off against Jeffrey de Graaf to be your cup of tea, enjoying 'the best of order' in front of a backdrop of elderly men in maroon blazers who bang on about how much better things were in the 80's.
On a side note, those scenes in Australia are pathetic. Mind you, i'm not surprised we've seen a full scale riot at some of the Premier League events held in some of Britain's big arenas.

Randomly watching an episode of Sunday Night Heat from 1998 now. How on earth is this clip so rare?!
-
I agree with most of that to be fair and almost feel this discussion is worth its own thread to be honest. I often wonder if wrestling is the same to kids these days as it was when we were their age. I suppose it is.
Oh, back to TNA, turning Eric Young heel was bollocks too. No-one want to boo EY.

John Gaburick?
At least Josh Matthews fit in like he'd always been there. That and the intro were probably the most positive things. You could praise the tag and X Division matches but for the talent involved you'd at least expect a decent TV match.
I thought Josh Matthews freshened up the commentary a lot. I've just watched the rest of the show now as I went to bed after an hour or so of watching it live as I was tired. I honestly didn't think it was a brutal show and it had some moments to enjoy.
The intro was brilliant and I do like the hidden camera segments, which are at least an improvement on the invisible cameraman.
But yet again, another fucking faction and run-ins on every match. Why, why, why?!
Thing is, I almost feel I should be posting a disclaimer when talking about current Wrestling as I'm just fed up with the modern day WWE. So simple things like the announcers talking about the match going on, not plugging the app/network every minute and something just a little different gets a free pass from me, which I know is unfair.
I just judge the WWE on standards that were set from when I was a kid and later the Attitude era, although I should know by now that there's no going back and they will never produce the kind of programme I want to watch. With TNA, the expectations are so low that a few entertaining segments is good enough.
-
263,000 is shocking to be honest.
I wish TNA would lay off the fucking stables all the time. There's no need for it.
-
But TNA have booked WCW2000 for the past five plus years.
I'll agree with your post on the whole, but not this part. I thought TNA was cracking in 2012 and I never missed an episode. Slammiversary that year is in my top 10 favourite shows for sure.

The Torch said that the Manhattan Centre was around 70% full though, so I'm sure they could have brightened up the arena lights a bit. Its not like those recent tapings in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania that were so poorly attended that only 3-4 rows were filled.
Can't believe that venue was the same one as Raw in 1993 as it looked so different.
-
I thought he looked bloated.
-
I read that sales for Friday night's tapings are ok, but yesterday's and tonight's aren't.
-
I was unemployed back then, which was great in that regard! TNA, the Sean Morley era.
-
I'm afraid we'll all be disappointed. That was a cracking night though.
-
Same here, listening to Dixie's podcast and seeing as I'm not working until 11am, will give it a go. I imagine it won't be too hard to find a stream, although scheduling a live chat might be rather optimistic!
-
That was Jim Neidhart wasn't it?
-
By no means stick your mortgage on this or anything, but have been pretty impressed by Canadian Jeff Smith in the BDO Darts Championship so far. Still available at 12/1 to win the whole tournament at William Hill.
-
Oh christ, this is the polar opposite of what they should be doing. Raw is too long, too glossy and full of bells and whistles. So why not concentrate on producing a fast paced, two hour, old-school wrestling show? Been watching some late 80's episodes of WCW on TBS recently, so that kind of thing.
-
It does make a difference though doesn't it? TNA has Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Bobby Roode, Bobby Lashley etc, and if reports are anything to go by, they're talking to Alberto Del Rio. They've lost so much star power over the past few years but they still have a few big names in there.
TNA isn't a full-time option any more as the house show business is losing the company money if anything, but its still somewhere else to work. That's my argument, as the discussion was about midcarders clogging up the WWE because of the lack of options. At least TNA (and maybe GFW) are still there if they want a steady job in north America to go along with the inevitable indy work.
-
A prime example of why more competition is needed in north America and not less.
Nothing infuriates me more than seeing fans online shit on TNA and other companies, hoping they go bust just so they can see a few of their stars pop up on Raw or whatever.
WWE already has a 90% market share, let's hope its never 100%.

There's a part of me, even though the 93,000 is bollocks of course, that doesn't want the WM3 record broken. There's something romantic about Wrestlemania 3 and I still consider Hulk v Andre to be the biggest and most iconic match of all time. Of course, it has to happen sometime though.
As regards to the streak making another Undertaker match pointless, he's still a massive star though. The streak was what it was, but when did they even start referring to it? Must have been the mid 2000's at least.
Undertaker main evented WM13 (yeah, debateable I know as we all remember Bret v Austin now) and had high profile matches at WM14 when the streak wasn't the streak.
