  1. Much to my dad's cruel delight, my first single was Living on My Own by Freddie Mercury. Likely the 93 remix, I'd have been five, I can vaguely remember it being top of the charts and on all the time. Why? Same reason I had like a 52 year supply of PG Tips, for the love of monkeys!

Michael Jackson's History is the first album that I can remember having. Was gutted there was no Smooth Criminal.

Respect. It's terrifying that we were close to living in a world where it didn't exist. Thank god for Napster.

Strange game for me as I actually did complete it years ago but have absolutely zero memory of it. Complete and utter mental black hole.

This is me with the second one. It came out just as I'd been written off with a slipped disc. Just me (in zero pain when I wasn't moving), Red Dead 2 and a couple of big jars of liquid morphine for a couple of weeks. Bliss, and I remember close to nothing. Knowing that when I get round to replaying it it'll mostly feel like a first time through is a nice thought.

The X enhanced OG is great, and why I was never fussed about it getting a "remaster", there already is!

The plaque at Coventry Central Library needs to be amended to include that it's where Hulkamaniafan's best posts were made.

I remember laughing at one of the mods here or TWCF describing him as "untraceable" because he kept switching computers there. He's tied with DrNo, who somehow couldn't be banned from the chatroom as the UKFF's most l33t hacker.

  4. Started watching BMF (Black Mafia Family). It's okay, pretty typical crime show, not the best acted but pretty stylish. I always make a funny face when I see a show has been made by/for STARZ, yet there's been quite a few shows of theirs now that I like. Will help pass the time until the new series of Snowfall.

Will it have any impact on Mr Inbetween if you haven’t seen the film

No. I haven't seen the film and still liked it. Dewey Crowe's in it (I'm only mentioning that because that was what pushed me into trying it!).

  5. I'm really happy Cody won. This feels like the first time since 2005 where the circumstances are right* for a babyface with potential to be a lasting top guy** to get properly MADE with their first title win at a Wrestlemania. It's baffling how little they've even tried it, given it should be the go-to to making a star.

    * They did do right by Drew in 2020 tbf but no crowd = no one cares.

** Sorry, Kofi. Great moment though.

  6. The 2008 Royal Rumble. Underrated and one of my favourite Rumbles. Great star power right off the bat, starting with the final two from the year before in Taker and Shawn, some cool callbacks like Triple H and Foley facing off in MSG one more time and Piper and Snuka (looking like the world's hardest granny with Taker and Batista selling for him), then the ultimate surprise #30 at the end. You popped, MSG, don't deny it, we heard you! A really fun hour.

Team Rosco P. Coltrane vs Team Bischoff, Survivor Series 2003. Say what you like about the Mirror Break Kid, "he looks like someone drew cock-eyes on one of Maurizio Sarri's testicles" etc, but this is an all-timer of a babyface performance, a one-man show. I didn't and don't give a shit about the result now, yet I always feel gutted for him (and a little for Austin) in the end. So noble in kayfabe, he had little at stake but gave absolutely everything just because it was the right thing to do. His "I'm exhausted and have nothing left!" selling was WAY overdone throughout his later career, but it fits perfect here, being largely three against one.

It shows how overpowered and tone-deaf Austin's booking mostly was that I'm still shocked he doesn't Stun Shawn after!

Finished the first season of Manifest. The premise is an airplane hits some bad turbulence and when it lands, 5 years have passed. It’s obviously hokey but so far hasn’t tried to overthink things. Plus Elizabeth Marvel (the only good thing with that name attached) has turned up.

Don't expect it to get much better. I'm only sticking with it out of spite for Lost, so I can tell people it has a better ending (it will!) and because Doctor Saanvi gives me a massive calling. It does have a few "OH!" moments where you think shit's going to get real but it quickly just settles back down into the same groove, right up through to the most recent batch of episodes.

Got six months of free Apple TV through Sky and tried The Mosquito Coast. I really liked the first season, a tense, well paced, varied seven episodes. Midway through the second now and I'm getting fed up. Too slow.

Our couple of weeks in the title race was fun while it lasted. Ten Hag with Ole levels of not knowing when to bring the right subs on. That’s two late goals in two games that we’ve now conceded and dropped points. We’ve always got the league cup to win.

The important thing is that you knock out the pitch-blamers, who "budgeted" for making the CL quarters this season (and actually expected UEFA give them that prize money for the next few years up front) from the made up round of the Europa and send them one step closer to real world financial ruin.

Getting an excited all caps PM from Butch about it at 3am on a Tuesday is why this is the best wrestling forum out there!

Still The Greatest, in general anyway, but especially as an authority figure. "If you can't get along, let's get it on!" is a beautiful line. Get him on full time! He was born for this role, always has been...

    Always will be.

Imagine if this happened live during the Chattitude Era? Our whole lives would have been an audition for that moment.

  10. Got round to A Plague Tale: Innocence, after getting it on PS+ ages ago. A really good, bleak story, that just about made all the trial and error stealth and bastardfuck segments worth it. The part where you're forced into using the wank-ass sling to kill multiple enemies in short order while Rodric's pushing the cart was infuriating! The rats make for a good setting, tricking people into getting eaten alive by a mob of them is fun.

Ordinarily I wouldn't be in any rush to get round to the sequel, but it's on Game Pass so I may as well. More rats, less clunk and it could be a winner.

  11. Bible verses about ass. My top three so far...

    (1) "And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand." - Exodus 4:20

    (2) "And as one of them opened his sack to give his ass provender in the inn, he espied his money; for, behold, it [was] in his sack's mouth." - Genesis 42:27

    (3) "And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you." - Genesis 22:5

  12. If we get a manager with pubes in now we could turn it around, it's not even half way through the league season yet. two or three wins on the bounce and everything can change pretty quick. The standard of the top four "race" in recent years has been pitiful, there's loads of "twists and turns" (it's really just teams losing) yet to come.

We've definitely been through enough crisis to warrant a Champions League win this year, so the league position might end up moot anyway.

  13. I really like him, been impressed every time he's been brought in, in a position that's not even his own. He has this natural urge to drift centrally when he has the space to and if his decision making wasn't great it could get us in trouble, but he seems a good judge of when to do that or go outside. It's always good to see a wide player that can go either way, we need some unpredictability!

  14. If anyone's in the mood for an old-school style survival horror, look into giving Signalis a go, it's on Game Pass (and available to buy on all consoles). It has that classic survival horror loop and interconnected level design down great, cool art style and a really well built tech-horror world. The strict inventory limit felt a bit too much, with not being able to drop items (or at least drop them and pick them back up) and I had to google how to do a few puzzles, but given it was made by only two people I can forgive any missteps! Good length too (over 10 hours), super impressive effort.

    Minor enemy type spoiler...

It's about time Crimson Heads came back!

  15. Sabrina the witch was the first girl to make my willy tingle like I was on a lift/rollercoaster. Also, Mileena from Mortal Kombat and I will not be shamed.

Did any of you ever find Bugs Bunny attractive when he put on a dress and played a girl bunny?

If I can do the same skill it doesn't really count as being a great entertainer. Especially against Moldovan opposition. Pull off a La Gravesinha in a competitive league, then you can call yourself an "artist".

In a weekend where some try to pay tribute to Pele, Jose Sa did El Ogro de Shrek proud. A textbook La Gravesinha, in his own box! Rest In Piece, Antony.

The day they put this skill in Fifa is the day I'll start learning how to fuck about with the right stick.

  17. Hard Target. I'm not sure how I let a fucking John Woo film get muddled up with most of JCVD's mid-90s onward output in my head and haven't watched this for years, I'm just going to hold my hands up now and admit mistakes were made. What a superb action film. He punched a snake in the face! And pulled his jacket back to reveal that there's no gun in his holster, in fact there's not even a holster, just a leg, then *BAM* kicks two jabronis in the head! I'm not going to go into any more depth as it's just going to be me listing all the assaults with exclamation marks. I'll let a couple of gifs say the rest...

Beautiful. When John Woo puts "Hard" in a film title he's not fucking about!

  18. Evil West was a good time! Faster paced Gears meets Red Dead: Undead Nightmare. Pure action, little fat, didn't outstay its welcome. We need more B games like this. Try it when it's inevitably on Game Pass or PS+ soon.

I was trying to resist playing Dead Space again in between The Callisto Protocol and its remake, it might be overkill, but I'm weak. Up to chapter 6. It's still close to perfect (fuck the asteroid shooting part!). Like Resi 4 it just nails that satisfying combat/upgrade/combat/upgrade loop. I hadn't forgot how scary the game was in general, but holy shit I definitely forgot that the anti-gravity bits could get me, the lack of sound and things just scuttling behind me without warning, nope! A great contrast to all the screaming and crazy violin strings inside the ship. It's horror gaming royalty.

I noticed 2 has FPS boost supported too. It would be pretty disrespectful to ignore it immediately after this, right?

  19. Mostly enjoyed The Callisto Protocol. Definitely no Dead Space, but in combat I'm not sure it was even trying to be, tbh. Once you get into the rythm (and it's hard not to, it's the most forgiving and piss-easy dodge mechanic ever!) of dancing out of the way of everything like prime Anderson Silva, hucking aliens at traps with the gravity glove-thingy it can get pretty fun. Looked and sounded amazing too, great atmosphere, the completely clean display does so much for immersion.

It really ran out of ideas towards the end though. The recurring 2-headed guy was a pain, final boss was pretty shit as well. Weapon-switching needs work. Sort out these issues and sprinkle in some money set-pieces and they could make a great sequel. As it is, it's a pretty decent first game for a studio. A fun 7.5/10. The extra .5 is for giving me an excuse to watch Aliens and Event Horizon again.

I've just got Evil West to get through before I can officially crown Rollerdrome as 2022 GOTY!
