Glad you had a good time, Singapore is a fantastic place to spend a few days back in a more organised environment away from Vietnam for me. I've found if you try not to drink or eat too much in higher end places it's quite affordable. Last time I was there we spent evenings sat in hawker centers drinking cheap beers and eating cheap food. People were more friendly too, in the bars around Clarke quay for example you only see the super rich and even then mostly their teenage offspring but it's more working class and sociable in the hawker places. Plus they will serve you a beer at any time whereas shops won't sell foreigners alcohol after 10.30PM.

You can find some decent hotels if you're willing to have a 20+ minute walk to an MRT station I found as well, if you get to know the bus routes it's no problem until late at night and then taxi's are plentiful or use Grab (Asia's Uber but with fixed prices)

I had a great night by Clarke Quay. I found a Hooters bar there - didn't think that would exist in Singapore!

if you time it right you can get a decent price for a pint at Brewerkz at the end of Orchard Road. It's my go-to bar when I have to go to Singapore. They've banned smoking, though, the fuckers. If you're hanging out in Singapore, my advice would be to head to Little India or China Town. Get the MRT to Race Course Road and have a curry and a beer for 20 dollars.

Heading to Brewerkz now....can't pass up a bar recommendation.

Littl India was a highlight for me, so I'll probably go back for a last supper. Flight back at 11.45pm tonight.

You can sit in a bar on Orchard Road and simply marvel at their beauty. It's like a constant parade of supermodels.

Now looking up Orchard Road on Google Maps :)

I’ve been told to get on something called Cardano. Not put in anything I’m not willing to lose but looks promising

Cardana (known as ADA) has had a rough few weeks. Look at the price action on tradingview. ADABTC. If really needs to bounce from here or we are heading much lower. Currently on support

I’d write a letter of complaint to the head office / Top bods and contact the industry ombudsman about it. It’s an awful thing to have done, regardless of well meaning intentions.

    Complain to the ICO

Again, I don't know what kind of logic is being used to claim that the "bottom is now in" when it comes to Bitcoin? What would make anyone think that?

Based on the technical analysis provided by Professional Traders. I'm personally a fan of NicTrades

Out of interest - Is there such a thing as a law (possibly GDPR) where an employer contacts you through social media as a next of kin when you're not down as a next of kin without any consent from the person who works for them or from me. If I don't make sense we can discuss on PM as it's a complicated & personal matter.

Technically yes. If the employer couldn't reach the emergency contact, they should not have reached out to someone else. Sharing personal data with anyone other than the emergency contact is a data protection failure

My toppest tips from what we did:

     - If you haven't had a chance to look at the Gardens By The Bay, they're really impressive. You have to pay to go into the Cloud Forest dome but it's well worth it, spectacular stuff with a strong environmental message.

     - The zoo was my highlight, it's divided into the main zoo, the River Safari (freshwater animals and those who depend on rivers) and the Night Safari (which we didn't have time for, but nocturnal animals). Easily a full day if you're interested in wildlife and conservation.

     - the National Museum is good, the History of Singapore gallery puts a lot of what you're seeing into context, i.e. the mix of cultures and influences that Singapore has had.

     - For food, find your nearest hawker centre, for dozens and dozens of affordable and tasty street food options. There's one at Marina Bay but we thought the Maxwell one (just round the corner from Chinatown MRT stop) was the best. Whether you want gyoza or chicken rice or chili crab or an ice cream sandwich they've probably got you covered, plus loads of Chinese, Indian, Malaysian and Western options.

     - And if you've got some time at the airport check out the Spider-Man exhibition with a small selection of costumes and props from the new film.

    Thanks again,

I've done the Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the bay. Came across a sign that read "Gardens by the Bay, Bay", which made me chuckle. The light show at 7.45pm at the gardens was awesome.

Anyway, I plan to go back to the Sands tomorrow night and gamble and head up to the Cé La Vi skybar on the roof of the Marina Bay Sands.

I've already spent 2 evenings in China town and went to Little India the night of the India / Packistan cricket match - the atmosphere was amazing.

I also really enjoyed the Singapore River Walk - starting at Clarke Quay and heading down to to the bay - just amazing.

The zoo on Saturday sounds like fun - thanks for that.

And @Accident Prone- for a posh honeymoon hotel, check out The Fullerton Hotel. Its right by the famous Merlion statue. I'm staying at the PARKROYAL on Pickering Street and thats also gorgeous.

  9. Thanks for the suggestions. I have Friday and Saturday to myself before coming home, so have some tourist days.

This is my 4th long haul trip in 2 months, so I'd not put much planning into it until I got here.

  10. I'm here on a business trip. What an amazing city / country! This is my first time to Asia and I'm just blown away by Singapore. The sites, the people, the cleanliness, the food - it's amazing! Who else has been here? I think more Asia travel is in my future!

Apply for the job. Worst that can happen is they make you redundant and you get the package. If more then 1 of you goes to take redundancy they could let you both walk. £12k won't keep you a float for long (hypertheticly, I mean I have no idea of your financial situation). My best mate got £30k to leave his job at a bookies (he was in head office) and he thought he was made and he would get a job easily. It took almost 9 months, a wage cut and by the time he started he was almost out of cash.

12k is a really poor package - particularly if that includes notice. But it sounds like a legitimate redundancy and they are going down the statutory route. I wouldn't jump at that. Perhaps if you can let me know what the enhancement is, I can advise better.

anyone got any general advice please in regards my appeal against my dismissal next week? its on capability grounds, failed my probation, my MH issues caused me to fuck it up

I'm an HR Director, so I wish I'd seen this a month ago. I'm sorry. An employer is legally required to make reasonable adjustments fo disabilities, but they are not required to accept poor performance due to a disability. if your condition is covered by the disability discrimination act and you informed your employer of the condition, they are required to make reasonable adjustments to help you perform. If you didn't inform them, or you did and their adjustments still meant you couldn't perform at the required level, then they are in the right.

If your condition is not covered by the disability discrimination act then you have no protections. If it is, you could pursue a disability discrimination claim. In my career if fought numerous such claims (and won) from dismissed underperformers because the business was unaware of the disability during employment. Usually there is no disability and the claim is false and falls away, so I expect your employer was cynical of your grounds for appeal - but if you had written evidence that you raised the issue of a disability with you employer whilst in employment, and they didn't make reasonable adjustments, then you have reasonable grounds.

Of course, would you want to put yourself through the pressure of a tribunal claim and all that entails? That is anothwe matter.

anyone seen the stuff online about Download? the site looks like a disaster because of the rain, poor fuckers.

It looked terrible. I've done a wet weather Download and it's no fun at all. I count myself lucky as I would have gone this year, but I'm currently in Singapore instead.

  14. I'd like to see Jeremy Hunt or Rory Stewart as PM, but I have no vote anymore having resigned my party membership after the Brexit vote and shift to the right. Sadly, I can't see any outcome where Boris doesn't win this contest - he has enough support in the parliamentary party to get to the final 2 and the overwhelming support of the membership.

What a choice at the next election.......Boris fn' Johnson or an antisemite marxist who refers to terrorists as his friends. I miss the days where the Conservative party stood for free markets with a social conscience and the Labour party was electable having abandoned socialism and adopted a position of fiscal responsibility.

Jon Moxley and Shingo Takagi confirmed for the G1! One step away from that Moxley/Suzuki match I’ve wanted, please be in the same block!

Kenta has signed for New Japan too and is also in the G1, it’s gonna be stacked this year! Really looking forward to next month and the block announcements in a few weeks time.

Ospreay/Dragon Lee was great, I guess Ospreay won’t be in the G1 now with all of these announcements.

Naito/Ibushi doing their best to break each other’s necks was so hard to watch after the German on the apron, no idea what Ibushi’s body is made of, I don’t want to see these 2 kill each other again for a while.

Jericho/Okada went on for far too long, he was kept protected though so he can have another match with Okada in the future and also now beginning his feud with Tanahashi.

I agree on all of this apart from the last paragraph. I felt like the main event flew past! How long was it?

  16. Watched the finals yesterday. The Shingo / Ospreay match was absolutely incredible. Loved Moxley / Juice also.

Mox's booking for Dominion is a strange one though....

Nah, Loofahhrr and The Take, he is brill in those.  He is OK in American Gangster too.  I think he has been in some utter garbage though and phones it in for those, such as those Marvel films.

Marvel films are fucking shit and are ruining cinema.

Marvel films are the only films I go for the cinema for anymore (except for Star Wars). The MCU is incredible.

I like that he didn’t touch his Twitter for the whole time he was employed by WWE, then he’s a free agent for less than two weeks and he’s posting videos with top-level production values. Smells like Tony Khan money to me. Suddenly, Jon appearing at Double or Nothing feels a lot more likely. Frankly, it’d be a waste if he just want back to having death matches.

That feels like it has been produced by either NJPW or AEW. He's certainly not going to produce something like that on his own just to head to the indies.

Incredible stuff....what a great time to be a wrestling fan.
