I remember Joey Ryan being good in Lucha Underground. Still a sleeze but without magic dick powers. With the right booker I think he would have something to offerÂ

Not sure if Iâve ever told this story on here before. Couple years back I was dating a girl and when she found out I liked wrestling she told me that she had been best friends with a girl whoâs Dad was a wrestler. I asked who it was, thinking I was going to surprise her by knowing some obscure wrestler most people wouldnât have heard of. She replied with Steve Austin.
This girl literally knew nothing about wrestling at all, not even that he was called Stone Cold. I thought she was full of shit at first but she said the girls name was Steph Williams, which google showed to be true and they were the same age. She told me that the Mum had also been a wrestler, but was wasnât really aware of the difference. Apparently she had been on holiday with her to Austinâs ranch and told me what it was like.Â
Naturally I asked what the chances of us ever going there together was and she said ânah, I donât talk to her anymore. She is a bitch and thinks she can do whatever she wants all the time.â If your Dad is Stone Cold Steve Austin, of course you can do whatever you want all the time.Â(I have no idea how much of this story is true, but Iâm inclined to believe her based on her very select knowledge while being otherwise clueless.)

Iâm gonna find Tom Segura and chop him in the chest.

What the fuck is custard brothers?Â
When two guys have had sex with the same woman.

Iâve tattooed Pete Dunne and Tyler Bates which is my most respectable one. Smoked cigars in Vegas with Dustin Rhodes which is my favourite one.
Iâm also custard brother to a long list of current wrestlers with the biggest one being The Rock. That was bloody intimidating. -

Bloody hell, just googled him and he's 43! Another up and comer then.
Well guys like Jungle Boy, Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara and Private Party are the up and comers. Lance Archer has never been presented as an up and comer, his story is totally different.Â

For a company that's been famed for changing course and cutting bait on things that ain't working, I'm astonished this Dark Order shit wasn't shot dead long ago.
Theyâve been doing pre-taped for a while, so changing direction until now has been impossible anyway. Theyâve got to give Brodie Lee a chance to get over before sacking him off already, but if anyone is going to send the Dark Order packing it should be Moxely. Be surprised if he doesnât run through all the putties with ease before having a wild brawl with Lee.
Canât think of anyone else who has been featured regularly enough to challenge for the belt either.Â
Â@Shy Dad I saw this on twitterÂ

I'm hoping that Harper getting the title shot at the PPV is about resetting him/knocking him down the card before crowds come back. Is there any chance of a non-WWE guy getting a PPV match for the AEW world title this year?Â
Theyâve only had one PPV match for the world title in 2020.Â
MJF and Moxely will be great, but that match will really need fans behind it. They are in a holding pattern right now, giving Mox strong wins is smart. -
Imagine thinking a getting a fine is a huge embarrassment or a black eye for AEW. Hardly going to send shockwaves through the industry.
Thought the show was decent, not bothered about Moxely and Lee but Iâd rather they didnât piss away too much on the mostly empty arena shows. Cody and Archer is the proper title match anyway. Interesting to see what else they can put together, due to limited TV time I assume most the build will be video packages which is what gets me most excited for a match -
Herb is the fucking man as far as Iâm concerned, dunno why he was fucking about with wrestling though.

They hardly ever use DQ finishes for regular TV matches, they wonât use it for a tournament final to crown an inaugural championÂ
-
WWEâs design team are absolutely awful. Kane is the only one that is just about bearable. The amount of people willing to wear these is going to be very limited, maybe thatâs the pointÂ
-
They could do a time limit draw and have the judges award it to Archer for being dominant through out. AEW wheel out legends to act as judges incase a winner must be decided.
Edit: hopefully the judges arenât there live and itâs a few old boys on live stream.
I reckon the most likely scenario is for Dustin to throw in the towel to save his brotherâs life. That story would have more layers than an onion -

You're not wrong, but you're overthinking it - Cody's just doing the standard "tell dem what dey want to hear" thing (he's ticked off both Authority Figures Bad and Wrestling Fans Have a High IQ here, pretty good promoting for a single tweet).
Yeah, the absolute nerve of him giving fans what they want. Why would anyone do that when they can have an on screen authority figure telling the fans they are idiots?

American Badass Taker vs Sting
That would still have done big business, then the rematch would have done even better once Undertaker had reverted back to being dead. Could have put Sting in Kaneâs spot at Wrestlemania 20 with some small changes to the story.Â

I donât think Iâve watched any Invasion-era WWF since it was originally broadcast, but did Steph not âbuyâ ECW when it went bankrupt, to join forces with Shane and stick it to their dad? That kinda makes sense.
Here Shane introduces Steph as the owner of ECW, while Heyman is stood next to him acting like itâs the best thing ever. JR fucks the reveal a bit by announcing her as the owner of the wrong promotion, but we are used to that

Let's be honest, did anyone really want Stephanie to lead ECW? Is there a company less suited for her to buy than ECW? Shane leading WCW was understandable, but throwing her into the mix just turned it into a regular WWF storyline of the time.
Steph made even less sense since Heyman was actually there. Shane made sense but they should have gone with a mystery financial backer to later be revealed as Flair. Could have been a good higher power angle but with an actual pay off.

When people have a dig about wrestling being fake I just point out most the stuff I watch on tele is. Then when their guard is down I chop them in the chest to prove itâs real

Youâre on to something here, Iâd say. The smarter thing to do would probably have been to bring in the small number of top guys they could get as individuals in a staggered way through 2001/02, and book them in big âDream Matchesâ
Well, thatâs kinda what they did anyway. Itâs just a case of if the invasion story would work with staggered debuts.Â

I always thought it was a damn tough thing to book. You've got 2/3 companies with their own individual faces and heels. How exactly do you book that successfully while keeping them as separate entities/factions?
DDP for example. Absolutely loved him in WCW as the plucky face that you always wanted to get behind. But being in WCW made him an automatic heel.
Â
Yeah it would have been a tough thing to book, but they should have been able to work it out. In theory they have collected all the best minds in the business together into one place. All three promotions having face/heel divides just opens them up for loads of possibilities and intriguing dynamics. I remember RVD being the only face member of the Alliance as being really cool. Having a few heels in WWF and a few faces in WCW shouldnât have been that confusingÂ
-
It could have been done a lot better while they waited to bring those guys in. Staggering debuts would have been far more effective for presenting them to a new audience. I didnât have a clue who Booker T or DDP was really, at that age Iâd have given up watching if too many randomers had shown up all at once.
Sending Austin to team WCW was really stupid, because they fired him over the phone. Austin shouldnât have stuck with WWF either because he hates Vince. Natural thing for him to do is a lone wolf DTA guy focuses on the title and not fussed about a brand war. Why would Austin care about a brand war? They could tease it out and eventually have him join the WWF for Survivor Series when WCW had pissed him off one too many times.Â
Iâd have put Jericho as the face of WCW. Had a mystery man as the financial backer who eventually gets revealed to be Flair. Dunno if Big Show was off injured or just not being used but Iâd have sent him to team WCW. They could have dragged the story out, with WCW bringing in a new wrestlers whenever they would be on the verge of losing. Id drag it out right up until Bischoff debuts, with him turning on WCW and killing it, only to align with Vince as a scummy sell out. -
When I saw that Cody was stopping the towel thrown it it made me think of how he didnât want the towel thrown in when he lost his chance at the title. His motivation for allowing his brother to take extra punishment made total sense. Well see how Dustin feels about it hopefullyÂ
