I need Rusev on Saturday! Don’t kill my hopes and dreams! Fuck it; I’d almost be tempted to put him back with Aiden English, too. That was an act that should never have been broken up.

Unfortunately I think it will be Zack Ryder as the mystery entrant for the ladder match which will feel like a let down at the time. Although realistically he is well better placed with the other members.

The Revival coming in seems pretty likely to me and bringing in four surprise WWE guys on one show would be overkill. I’d rather they left Rusev to chill for 90 days, announce it online and watch the Internet go into meltdown. Then give him plenty of hype videos, holding off on his debut till the fans are back.

    Ric Flair

He has been signed back to WWE already. Apparently his contract was up in December, but they waited until news was out to sign him back. Shame because in a different universe Flair, Sting and DDP would have been perfect for the TNT Championship judges. One thing AEW really outshines WWE with is knowing how to create a big match feel.
Im really looking forward to their count down show tonight, hopefully it is just an hour of slick video packages and sit down interviews.

  3. Shame about the injuries, whichever Buck is hurt won’t be a problem as they will be able to work the match and just do an injury angle. If Fenix isn’t 100% he should be pulled from the ladder match because that guy will be attempting all sorts of mad bollocks.

If Baker can no longer perform as a dentist while injured then that is a real shame and hopefully AEW take care of her financially. Was a dangerous move and not necessary. She’s been great value in the women’s division and will be missed.

I can’t think of any other injuries AEW wrestlers have picked up which don’t involve Cody’s skull. Mad that they went a year without any and then had three on the same show

  4. They still have one space in the ladder match which hopefully goes to Rusev. As much as I would like him to show up at the end they have already done the ending of a former WWE guy showing up by surprise. Although if it is Rusev I doubt anyone would care that they have already done it before

What do we reckon the chances are that they close the PPV with Mox and Brodie Lee? Surely they’d be mad to do that?

Title match should always go last. Not like they have to worry about a main event having a deflated crowd. If they keep Mox/Lee from going too long and some mad spots of Putties getting fucked up then it’ll be fine last.

It might be JR just being old, but I’m sure at one point he said that the “rings” would be in the middle of the pitch. Wonder if there will be a double ring for this and it will be replacing the blood and guts match.

I thought it was one of the weakest episodes of Dynamite ever until Adam Page turned up.

Weirdly, I thought that until Page showed up as well. Then when I went back and thought about the episode I remembered loads of stuff I had actually really enjoyed

This definitely should be the real theme for Dynamite.

Brilliant that. If they started using that then @PowerButchi would probably tune in every week.

Last night was a good show, not technically the go-home show either as they have a special this Friday to promote Double Or Nothing. Page returning by sprinting the length of the pitch in cowboy boots and delivering a clothes line was fucking awesome. Then he walks off into the sunset as the camera pans up the reveal The Elite logo on the pitch, beautiful stuff.
The Shawn Spears News is a fucking winner. I’ve been enjoying his work since joining AEW, but that segment blew everything else he has done out the water. I really hope they keep it up.

MJF making Marko pick his nose and eat it was great. Rey Fenix gave Orange Cassidy his best match yet, that opening missed kick was superb. Really glad that Moxely broke 10’s arm. That gives me hope that he is just going to absolutely destroy the Dark Order and send them packing. I can’t see where the Dark Order can go now, but there are plenty of options for disbanding the group in entertaining ways

And I don’t see why she would want her kids, who, lest we forget contain a human rights lawyer rather than, say, Teddy Hart, around those people.

Not to mention, they aren’t children anymore. They are adults now. If they wanted to speak to the rest of the family, I’m sure they could if they made the slightest effort. Probably would rather stand by their Mother who had to seek justice for their Father alone

  9. @LWOLeN what is it you are trying to achieve by posting this? Are you trying to prove that different people have different thoughts on how to grieve?

All you have to do is watch the scene of Martha holding that tiny hook and it should be fair enough if she thinks WWE should get fucked

Little celebration for his wrestling legacy by his wife or kids. His daughter basically sees wrestling as the devil.

Martha is a doctor and Oje is a human rights lawyer. Got the feeling they really look down upon their families pro wrestling legacy, even though they are Harts.

In comparison: David Benoit is probably standing in his fathers tights right now as I type this and rewatching and enjoying WrestleMania with a big grin on his face.

What a bloody weird thing to post

  11. The TH2 thing is shit, because they are making complaints that other members of the roster have already made against WWE. AEW is trying to present themselves as the faces while WWE are the heels. But then a heel team accuses them as being the same as the heel company, without anything to actually back it up. At least when PAC complained about being overlooked in AEW he could point out that he was awesome in the ring and having a great win/loss record.
It also doesn’t help that two members of a tag team are doing separate promos on their phones in different styles, with them being cut together. It just doesn’t mesh, which is meant to be the point of a tag team. Would be a lot better if they were together in a cool setting, proper camera and Angelico doing most the talking while Evans just cuts in with one liners.

I also realised when I saw the first one that I hadn’t actually heard Jack Evans ever do a promo. Looks like there was a reason for that. At least AEW are giving him the chance while keeping it away from their main program. Once things are back to normal, sit them both down and have Dustin produce their promo with nice edits and something to say. They’ll do much better

One positive note it is that slating AEW management is seen as a heel move, because fans are supposed to like AEW. In WWE if someone slates the company then they are a face, because fans are conditioned to think WWE is shit and run by dickheads. Why any company would want fans to think they are dickheads is beyond me. Would be like if footballers started telling fans that the club they work for is shit. Doesn’t it make more sense to get fans to view the company as a positive one?

  12. Mr Brodie Tony. Made me laugh more than it should have. MJF does a great promo too.
Don’t know why QT Marshall is going to DDP for advice, bloke is supposed to be a trainer with a wrestling school. Minor gripe but logically I wouldn’t expect anyone from his school to be much cop

Is Hangman Page part of the stadium stampede match?

Seems like a waste bringing him back for that if so.

It’s one of the marquee matches on their biggest show of the year filled with a lot of their key players. Doesn’t seem like a waste at all

  14. Hangman has been bloody brilliant lately on BTE. A wrestler being worried that their career won’t get back on it’s hot streak after coronavirus shelving everything is such an organic and endearing story.

Would like to see Jericho really stick the knife in with that. As someone already established enough to not be effected, he has actually proved himself even more valuable during this period. Jericho can mock Page saying that the run of his career was cut short and that he’ll never achieve the same heights. The payoff would be an arena full of fans losing their shit for him for a feel good moment

Very early doors hit Wyatt and the Firefly fun house might become. I could see them having a handful of those.

I’m still not entirely sure what a Firefly Fun House match is

Well, Tommy Dreamer won the last one they did, which was over ten years ago.

Yeah and he was a hardcore guy. I used the word hardcore because while Foley was a hardcore guy, that covered stuff like No DQ and I quit marches too. Hardcore seemed like a broader term. If you want me to be specific who’s the current wrestler who is known for doing extreme rules matches?

  17. Who was the last WWE wrestler who had a signature match they specialised in or any kind of gimmick match they were associated with? I can think of anyone over the past few years who I would think is the best at HIAC. Hardy is the best at Ladder matches and Kofi does best in Rumbles (although he can’t win them.) Who is the guy best at hardcore matches?
The switch to yearly events rather than using matches when needed is probably to blame, but it’s something I think is missing from the current roster.

I listened to that audio last night, I understand his confusion about why a big earner would leave to have kids (especially if he don’t have any himself and how obsessed with wrestling he is.) How he made his point was totally gross and made for uncomfortable listening. Comparing it to if Austin had intentionally broke his leg at the top of his run was batshit crazy.
Now is actually a great time for her to step away for a while if the empty arena shows end up carrying on for a long time. The only negative I can see is if one day Ronda and Becky end up having a battle of the Moms.

  19. If they do bring in Sting I reckon it would just be like what they did with DDP, in an easy tag as a nostalgia act and not an old man who can batter most the roster. They’ve handled DDP excellently as an old timer so I don’t have any worries about Sting. I don’t think they’ll be having him challenging for the belt, but they could probably have him smack Sammy about a bit

I'd imagine Nick Jackson is 100% now and should be at Double or Nothing, so Matt Hardy will pretty much take Codys place in the Elite vs Inner Circle feud.

Ah yeah that makes loads more sense for Hardy to take Cody’s place. Completely slipped my mind that he would be the busy one

  21. @Supremo it sounds like you are too accustomed to WWE ruining anything they have their hands on by not wanting Page to come back yet. I think it is entirely possible for them to bring Hangman back now, allow him to be great in the current landscape and build something huge for when fans start coming back. He has already been great in the little I’ve seen of him with the Dynamite style stay at home video and deciding to live in a forest.
They can hold off on Blood And Guts for when fans are back, and have him come out as the last entrant and the roof will blow off.
Saying that, I don’t know if he will be back with the rest of the Elite yet. Hardy is probably going to be on that team, so either Nick is still injured or Hangman isn’t coming to fight with his mates
