Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted March 14, 2009 Paid Members Share Posted March 14, 2009 Err, is there any thermo reason why one side would be hotter than another? I.e. radiator etc? I'm no doctor, but if I were randomly sweating from one side, I'd have it checked out. I need to phone the docs next Friday for the results! Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted March 14, 2009 Paid Members Share Posted March 14, 2009 I'd love to watch my old wrestling tapes, but my VCR has decided to start eating them. I need to get a new one. I don't know where you'd even get one Jason. Cash Converters perhaps? Â ADDED: We had two VCR's here, but one, like you, had started eating tapes. So that was chucked. You must be able to get them off ebay. I wondered if I should get one now just in case they become mega rare when my current vcr breaks down. Â Ive bought dvds for the last 4-5 years but have maybe 150 wrestling tapes and I could never be bothered to convert them. I'm showing them to my grandkids. Fuck blu-ray! Paid Members Mike Castle Posted March 14, 2009 Paid Members Share Posted March 14, 2009 Just go into a charity store that sells electrical goods, you'll likely pick one up from there.

Full Moon
Interesting one for the more senior member of the forum. Â I am talking on MSN right now with a guy called Tim Downey, who I met on the Real In Memphis board (as Viper Sniper) years ago. Â I got talking about this forum, and he said he used to post here, under the name, "Eminem". He also credits himself as starting the rap battles here. Excuse me for being skeptical, but saying he was called, "Eminem" and starting rap battles just seems like I am being taken on a wind up. Â So does anybody remember a poster named Eminem? I tried searching for the member name, but found nothing.

Paid Members Mike Castle Posted March 15, 2009 Paid Members Share Posted March 15, 2009 That's why, at the first opportunity, I shall be buying 2 or 3 video machines as back up (not new, from a charity store). I've way too much on VHS to just dump them, although I could always rig the machine up to my PC at some point and copy it onto DVD. But that just seems like more work for the same benefit. Finbar
What breed of dog was Odie supposed to be?
Paid Members JLM Posted March 17, 2009 Paid Members Share Posted March 17, 2009 He's a long-eared beagle. It's a loose representation of one admittedly. Odie is a popular name for beagles as a result though. Â I love the word "beagle".
Paid Members SpursRiot2012 Posted March 17, 2009 Paid Members Share Posted March 17, 2009 Does anybody here speak Latin or have they ever had any lessons? How difficult is it to learn? Of course, I don't imagine it's "easy" but compared to languages such as French and Spanish?
Paid Members JLM Posted March 17, 2009 Paid Members Share Posted March 17, 2009 I studied Latin, though only at GCSE level. You don't speak it though. You read aloud at times, but you don't do a Latin oral exam because, well, it's a dead language innit, it's hard to mark someone on their pronunciation or aural comprehension skills when there is significant guesswork involved with regard to how it was actually spoken in the first place. All the stuff about it giving you a deeper understanding of several modern European languages is true, and it's a great accompaniment to studying a modern language or if you plan to study English in depth. Â As a standalone skill it has limited applications though, would you just be studying it out of interest/boredom? Â I found it easier to learn than French. There's a very clear logic, and although there are exceptions to every rule as with other languages, it certainly falls into place more neatly than English and French. Â Nucleus is also a Latin scholar. Â Caecilius est pater. (Pater - father, head of the household. "Paternity", "Paternal", and so forth. Diggit.) Â Grumio est in culina. (Grumio is one of Caecilius' slaves. He's the chef. "culina" is kitchen. See how it links with the word "culinary". DO YOU SEE? Yeah. Latin, bitches. Â Good times. . Â We used the Cambridge Latin Course. Pretty much everyone does from what I've been told. Don't get too attached to the family though, Book 1 is set in Pompeii after all. Â SPOILER: SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read Caecilius doesn't make it
Paid Members SpursRiot2012 Posted March 17, 2009 Paid Members Share Posted March 17, 2009 Interest/boredom mostly. I have a list of things I'd like to accomplish this year (and I'll probably lose my job by June, so I'll have a lot more free time): Â 1. Learn my guitar 2. Write at least two full screenplays and perhaps some short stories 3. Learn Latin 4. Learn a programming language 5. Go on holiday somewhere
