lokmad
Human Traffic is only funny if your stoned or on acid. I watched it sober the first time round and thought it was wank, but watched it again stoned and thought it was 'well funny'. How can you not find this utterly awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WPWu7708OQ&eurl=
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted September 28, 2006 Moderators Share Posted September 28, 2006 Yeah, I too have to call bullshit on that statement... Â I expect it may only be funny, or at least funnier, if you have experience of the club/drug culture in the UK, but to say it's only funny if you're stoned is pretty ridiculous... A great film. Buscemi in it rules. I now want to dress as his character from this film for Halloween.(****/*****)Also, Christopher Lloyd in a role where he swears a lot, and works in a porn theatre! The Cum Doctor
Good to see no mention of Dante or Bob there, as they weren't exactly captivating in Clerks 2. Jay and Randal were fantastic though. So was the dweeby guy who I can't remember the name of.

Paid Members Egg Shen Posted October 3, 2006 Paid Members Share Posted October 3, 2006 United 93 - just watched the dvd, fucking intense...i wouldn't go as far to say it was enjoyable, cause thats the wrong word, but this is essential viewing. It's kinda depressing but gives a different and interesting view of what went down on 9/11, gotta commend Paul Greengrass he pulled this off without being biased, over-dramatic or fucking with what actually went down. Paid Members Murtz Posted October 3, 2006 Paid Members Share Posted October 3, 2006 Coach CarterI thought this one was brilliant, as most Samuel L Jackson films are. It had a 'Dangerous Minds' feel to it, and the story was different to your usual 'underdog team becomes the best' plot.Truman ShowI finally got round to watching this. It was much better than I thought it would be! Nice lil film, and ended at just the right time. Could have been worse if they showed Carrey in the real world etc.
ukedge87
The Rules Of Attraction.I'm a big Bret Easton Ellis fan (wrote the book the film is based on), so I knew I would pretty much love this film. The film is shot tastefully, and with stooping to the cliche'd or cheap laugh/ action depths it could have. It is a genuine protrayl of late teen life to a certain extent, and although it has been compared to the American's Trainspotting I would strongly disagree. It should be watched with the false illusion of 'American Pies' in your mind, as the realisations of these 'frat-pack' films become clearly absurd.BrazilI love Terry Gilliam, and apart from Kubrick, I think he does the best dystopian visions in the industry. The film which seems to be a more than slightly tongue in check world that Orwlell dreamt up in 1984 (with a very serious, dark and worrying reality to it). Its probably Johnathon Pryce's brightest hour as the amazing Sam Lowry, and his presence is very clear. This film flit between being a great visual experience and a scary insight to how the end half of the 21st century might look.

HBAndy
Coach CarterI thought this one was brilliant, as most Samuel L Jackson films are. It had a 'Dangerous Minds' feel to it, and the story was different to your usual 'underdog team becomes the best' plot.I watched this the other day again too, and I thought it was so horribly predictable, could Samuel L Jackson not say ANYTHING normal in the whole film? Everything he said was 'inspirational' in some way, fucking annoying twas.Truman ShowI finally got round to watching this. It was much better than I thought it would be! Nice lil film, and ended at just the right time. Could have been worse if they showed Carrey in the real world etc.Carrey's best film in my opinion, and I think I prefer him in his comedic roles rather than his ZANY humour stuff (Dumb and Dumber is his best comedy film though)
