Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted Thursday at 01:21 PM Paid Members Posted Thursday at 01:21 PM As pointed out by @Dai the other darts thread is 18 years old. Time to put it out to pasture, like Raymond van Barneveld should be. Quote
Dai Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Congratulations to that hairdresser who beat Littler in that Netflix event. Watched some of it and was bored senseless. The consensus seems to be that people have way less attention spans these days, but every Netflix event I watch, such as the boxing, that climbing guy, there is so much filler and absolute bollocks with a panel of people talking shite, that I do wonder what sort of people could watch it live. Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted 3 hours ago Author Paid Members Posted 3 hours ago (edited) I did think the premise is a good idea. We all know the bloke in the pub who is "Luke Littler, I'd beat him" when he averaged 46 for the darts team. It would be fun to see those sort of people against the world champion. This show had two main problems. One is that God love him Littler is not exactly blessed with charisma and natural ease in a situation like that, it's just not him. That's not a knock, just an observation. The second problem is that Fallon Sherrock is a professional darts player. The premise works with amateurs, pub level, even county players. If you are saying she isn't professional because she doesn't have a PDC tour card and works at another job then that's already to many qualifiers. For example are you saying Alan Soutar is semi-pro because he has a tour card but also works as a fireman. It was a good idea poorly executed and like Dai I can't possibly imagine watching all of that live. Edited 3 hours ago by Lion_of_the_Midlands Quote
Paid Members hallicks Posted 3 hours ago Paid Members Posted 3 hours ago I watched the first few before the traitors final. It was not well done, exactly as Dai says. Endless filler. Lineker was completely the wrong fit, he makes the Pete guy from ITV4 look like prime Des Lynam. Watched the rest later when I was able to fast forward the shite, but it wasn’t up to much. Great leg from Sherrock to win it. In the spirit of continuity from the old thread, let’s mention Wayne Mardle, and the dangers of when people mistake being a loudmouth for having a personality. 0/10 NO MORE MARDLE. Quote
