Paid Members hallicks Posted April 8 Paid Members Posted April 8 My wife started singing incorrect lyrics to ABBA’s “I have a dream” earlier, which set me off on a tangent of even more incorrect lyrics, and I sang “if you see the bumgull | of the fairytale”. She asked me what “bumgull” was, but a Google site:ukff.com search for bumgull only returns references to it, not the original story. I’m vaguely remembering it was something about a new kid at someone’s school who was rumoured to have… done something insalubrious to a seagull? Apologies if this has been deliberately expunged from the forum for safety reasons. If so, @Scratch can you remind me where or what Boo-boo d’pupoo is? Quote

From what I remember, it was about school nicknames, and that there was a guy at his school who was just there, normal, and hadn't done anything - yet, somehow, over the summer holiday, a completely invented rumour had gone around about him having bummed a seagull, and when the school year restarted, he was stuck with the nickname "Bumgull", through no fault or action of his own. If this is incorrect, someone else post, but this is funny. Boo-boo d'Pupoo is in the Outstanding Names thread - said individual is estate manager for the estate @Scratch lives on, and is apparently incompetent. I remember it well, because it is now a nickname I call my cat. Quote
Paid Members Scratch Posted April 9 Paid Members Posted April 9 (edited) @Carbomb’s memory has done him proud there, that’s bang on. Sadly, Boo-boo is no longer with the company due to a mixture of budget cuts and incompetence. I still don’t know anything about this person other than their funny name, and haven’t yet been informed if there’s a new Boo-boo D’pupoo - Boo-boo D’Pupoo Two if you will. I absolutely love that the handle has now been passed on to a cat, that’s incredible work and is helping to keep the legend alive. My favourite memory of dear Boo-boo was when I called the company and asked who was looking after our account. When the lady said it was Boo-boo D’Pupoo, I asked how that was spelt. She responded “Bee Oh Oh, Hypehen, Bee Oh Oh, D’Pupoo” as if only the Boo-boo part was impossible to comprehend. I often wonder where Boo-boo might be stinking up now, and now also how many pets have been given the moniker third-hand from an internet forum. Edited April 9 by Scratch Quote
