Paid Members Lorne Malvo Posted October 20, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 20, 2025 I decided to give Crash 4 another go off the back of this thread. The first 3 are some of my favourite games of all time but I got bored of 4 quickly, but thought I would revisit it to see if my opinion has changed. I still don't like it. If anything, I like it even less now than I did when I first played it. I'd forgotten just how much they massively overdo the 'phasing-in/phasing-out' gimmick early on - it just seems like such a lazy, dull way of making the game more difficult. Quote
Tamura Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Jet Set Willy. Some rooms were proper nightmares, and the lack of save game facility meant working your way through the game again just to have another try. It was only years later I also found out that due to bugs the game couldn't be completed anyway. Quote
RedTwoster Posted November 1, 2025 Author Posted November 1, 2025 I’m changing my answer. I’ve given F-Zero GX a try for the first time and I don’t know why there’s any nostalgia for this fucking game. It’s far too fast to be even slightly playable. I can’t see any other way of progressing other than memorising the tracks, and I’m obviously not going to do that. And even then, you need reflexes beyond my capabilities to win. It’s unfairly hard and it’s little wonder that the series went on hiatus after this. Quote
