Paid Members Kamran Posted May 11, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted May 11, 2025 I was up last night but couldn't face watching the show as the card looked terrible. I watched this morning/afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. I pretty much enjoyed every match, special credit to McAfee who looked great. I even thought that little stumble he had mid-match helped it by way of demonstrating his fear/lack of experience, he did really well. Quote

Sounds like a great little match. I quite liked the variety on this show. Lyra/Lynch had a great epic, Pat McAfee had an entertaining weaponless Shane McMahon match against Gunther and the main event had all the bollocks of a 00s main event. I'd say that it needed a tag match but then we might have ended up with a match from the SmackDown tag division and nobody needs to see that. Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted May 11, 2025 Paid Members Posted May 11, 2025 A typical example of a WWE C-level PPV promising nothing and over-delivering hugely. If only they could deliver an A-level PPV that promises everything and delivers everything. Nice, manic opening. I think they might need to turn McIntyre babyface again quite soon because he's really popular and nobody really wants to hate him, even if he does support Rangers. I don't know who Jeff Cobb is, I thought it was a NASCAR driver or something. Lyra Valkyria channelling her fellow countryman Sheamus in only having bangers. Superb match from start to finish. Lyra's just getting better and this injection of actual character is really working. Nice to see a heel just pile in and beat up the babyface after losing too, not enough of that these days. Give us a sequel or two. Penta is shit. When he fucks back off to AEW, which will hopefully be by the end of this post, I'm going to be digging out all those posts that were claiming what a great signing he was. You're all on notice. He doesn't deserve the El Grande Americano storyline. Give it to babyface Dom instead. McAfee vs Gunther was exactly what it needed to be. They nearly had me when Cole held Gunther's legs. McAfee throwing the worst punches since Shane McMahon but still doing a great job. Loved the main event. Ridiculously overbooked and stupid and completely committed to it. A Fast and Furious film in wrestling form and thankfully The Rock didn't make a cameo in this. Good! Quote
Mr_Danger Posted May 11, 2025 Posted May 11, 2025 I’m convinced that in one more spray tan Cracker H is putting Bron Breakker in the Bloodline:The New Class. Everyone’s Samoan these days. Popped hard for Michael Cole holding down Gunthers foot. Dom continues to become a great little worker. John Cena definitely learnt his heeling skills from Brian Dixon. Quote
Snitsky's back acne Posted May 12, 2025 Posted May 12, 2025 Genuinely though they would have McAfee beat Gunther on a couple of occasions. Cole's 'Gunther has never lost two matches in a row' line, Cole interfering... I honestly thought 'They are going to have McAfee win here!' and that's a credit to everyone concerned that what was pretty much a foregone conclusion match actually had me on the edge of my seat Have to say I enjoyed the whole show. An easy watch where everything made sense. Quote
NeverYield Posted May 12, 2025 Posted May 12, 2025 Just caught up on the whole show, I've had to watch in stages but I wish I would have watched it all on the night It over delivered in bundles Quote
OzExile Posted May 13, 2025 Posted May 13, 2025 Seems I'm in the minority because I didn't buy into Gunther's match at all. Hopefully they give him something good to do soon. Quote
