Stationery in motion - a Dull Man's Club thread

As previously mentioned in the main DMC thread, I'm very much of the "analogue is not dead" school. I journal and take notes with pen (or, on occasion, pencil) and paper. There's a lot of appeal to it: the sensory experience of it, the fact that it slows me down to a more relaxed and deliberate pace which enables me to engage more with what I'm writing, and the ritual aspect to it that I find anchoring and reassuring.

Consequently, it's good to have nice stationery to do this with. I've previously shared photos of my Star Trek DS9 limited edition Schaeffer fountain pen, which is what I normally write with at home. But I've found out that it's actually quite valuable, so don't want to risk it getting damaged or lost, so for EDC (Everyday Carry for those not down with the ultra-cool, with-it terminology), I use a Kaweco Sport pocket fountain pen with extra-fine nib:

It came with a cartridge, but I made a point of getting a refillable converter, like my main pen has. In both, I'm currently using Waterman Mystic Blue ink:

Bought it back in 2021, and am still only halfway through it. But when it's finished, I'm thinking I'll get some really nice Diamine ink - maybe a green or purple.

Anyway, I recently finished my Odyssey notebook that I've been journalling in - it's a deceptively thick unit; I've been writing in it since November 2023!

Was weighing up which to choose from my current stock. Got:

2 Darkstar - one unmarked, one cross-grid. Lovely books, but sadly the company is now out of business.

2 Field Notes - an iconic brand who do lots of editions. Got two US National Park editions, both graph. Only problem is I'd have to use biro - the paper bleeds too much with fountain pen ink.

1 BackPocket - a gorgeous notebook, with a retro "space tourism" theme, and unfortunately done in conjunction with SpaceX. I bought these years ago before I knew just how much of a cunt Musk is.

Use notebooks?  No no no.  Good notebooks are to be purchased, placed on the shelf, and admired as they're "too good to use."

Pukka or an Oxford if I actually have to make a mark on the paper.

It took me a long time to get past that mindset. It helps to have a clear idea of what you'd use it for. I have a gorgeous Moleskine one that was given to me years ago, and I only started writing in it when I realised I needed one for writing ideas. 

Now I'm more of the attitude of "this lovely notebook's purpose is being fulfilled".

I envy you Bombers. My handwriting looks like a frenzied knife attack and always has. A fountain pen would be tantamount to genocide in my hands.

My handwriting isn't particularly great, it's wildly inconsistent. Sometimes it looks halfway decent, other times it looks like I'm being jolted with ECT every few seconds.

At some point I started writing in all capitals, and find it really awkward to write anything in lowercase now... Not on here obviously
