Paid Members Jazzy G Posted July 4, 2020 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 4, 2020 Killer instinct is very good. Power Rangers is better than it has any right to be given the budget it was made on. It's a lot of fun.
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted July 22, 2020 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 22, 2020 (edited) This looks like it could be interesting. Free to play, all characters unlocked, all single player and local modes unlocked. Online against friends. You just have to pay for cosmetics, and ranked online modes etc. Still, for free it might kot be too bad. It's on PS4, XBox One and Switch. Interesting mechanics as well. https://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2020/07/21/fantasy-strike-free-to-play/amp/  Edited July 22, 2020 by jazzygeofferz
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted July 28, 2020 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 28, 2020 All the fighting game companies are having a "roundtable" event this weekend with announcements and trailers etc. My guess is that this has been organised following the cancellation of EVO following the allegations against the CEO and several members of the fighting game community. From the look of the article they're predicting it's going to have announcements for Street Fighter V season 5, a new season for Tekken 7, the rest of the second season of SoulCalibur VI, the new netcode for FEXL, more Guilty Gear and more. I'm hoping there'll be some information about King Of Fighters XV and the Breakers collection that's supposed to be on the way. The events are happening at 10pm Friday night and 1am Saturdaynight/Sunday morning. Full article is here. https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2020/jul/27/new-tekken-7-and-soul-calibur-6-announcements-confirmed-japan-fighting-game-publisher-roundtable/
Grecian
Got an afternoon to myself, so thought I'd break out MK11 to see if I can finally get through the bloody tutorials. I've only got two trophies left until I have the platinum. The advanced tutorials are an absolute nightmare. Finally managed to knock two of them off, then went to the menu to see what I have left. Then found out the two I've done - spent a solid half an hour of button mashing, trying to get the combo down to the exact frame rate for timing - haven't saved. So, so annoying!
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted August 10, 2020 Author Paid Members Share Posted August 10, 2020 I picked up MK11 the other day. I'm slowly cracking through the tutorials, some of them look like they get pretty detailed. The Capcom announcement last week was an interesting one. Some new balance tweaks and apparently mechanics are being released, and 4 of the 5 season 5 characters have been announced as Dan (yay, my main is back), Rose, Akira from Rival Schools, and Oro. Character 5 hasn't been announced yet, but it looks like they're at least a year away from dropping. People are wondering whether it'll be a new character, another crossover character or another returnee. Also interesting is that after almost thirty years, and having practically become known as "Mr Street Fighter" Yoshinori Ono announced at the weekend that he's leaving Capcom. Rumours are that he either didn't like the direction Capcom were taking Street Fighter 6 in, or that Capcom weren't thrilled by what he was trying to do with Street Fighter 6. Although in his announcement he said a lot about the format of this year's Capcom Pro Tour. It's the end of an era for Capcom and Street Fighter, but also the dawn of a new age. It'll be interesting to see where Ono goes from here. I'd be hyped if he showed up alongside Harada at BamCo, or even ended up on a smaller game like FEXL. Time will tell, I guess. The roundtable had some cool announcements. Tekken 7 Season 4 is on the way, but nobody has been announced. Leo is coming to Guilty Gear StrIVe, Setsuka is coming to SoulCalibur 6, and FEXL is getting rollback netcode. Street Fighter League is back soon as well, and because of the way all Capcom's events have been taking place online since Covid happened it looks like it's going to be online, and a global thing. Finals will take place at Capcom Cup, which looks like it's been moved back to the start of next year in the hope that people can travel again. Anyway, I've been me and that's your UKFF FGC update, film at 11. Paid Members Jazzy G Posted August 27, 2020 Author Paid Members Share Posted August 27, 2020 Street Fighter 5 is free with PlayStation Plus from September First. This is good because it means I can take the Street Fighter 5 disk out of my playstation for the first time in goodness knows how long. It'll probably get replaced by the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection disk instead. I'm guessing it's going to be the base version, but it also means if you want to update to Championship Edition you'll get a discount.
