Voted Lawler, despite him being the only fighter of the three with a loss in 2014. For him to end the year as champion with the win over Hendricks was a great moment. Especially when his strong performance in their awesome first fight was being put down to Hendricks' injuries. Lawler validated himself and took the strap in one go. Then add in his dominant wins over Brown and Ellenberger, what a year.

Cerrone had a cracking year too. And Rousey only fought twice but stopped her two opponents in a combined 90 seconds or something.

But it's Lawler for me. He started the year as an underdog to Hendricks, everyone thought his resurgence had peaked and that just getting the title shot was an achievement. But he ended the year as the champion.

I went for Lawler too. After starting the year with a close defeat to Hendricks, he had great wins over Ellenberger and a Matt Brown who was on a savage streak of his own. Capped it by winning the title in a rematch, putting the final touches on one of the great fairy tales of mixed martial arts.
