The results went into the original post yesterday afternoon thanks to municipal library wi-fi, and now the updated table has just been uploaded via a uni computer (turns out they're not all Macs after all). This should all be possible once again from the comfort of my own home using my laptop every stage of the way as of next week, so thanks for everyone's patience in the meantime.

I could hear other spectators shouting updates on Hull-Man City while checking their phones as I took in a local FA Cup tie on Saturday. At 0-2, it all seemed too easy. At 2-2, I thought I'd chosen a brilliant fixture for the D2D. Thanks to an overpriced defender, the other 10 City players effectively had to beat Hull twice - and they managed it. This means that Ratty, already the leader in the early standings, becomes the first person in 8 attempts to get his D2D right this season. As with Liverpool last time out, however, few people are prepared to bet against the champions. This means that he luckily only gets 12 bonus points rather than the 40 or so most other participants would've been on course for so far.

That clearly makes him top scorer for the round and extends his advantage to 14 points, but the chasing pack did well to restrict that number as two got into double figures themselves, as did ultimo, title holder MVP RULZ and the previously faltering TUFCfan. Special mention to everyone who either got the scoreline at the KC Stadium spot on or came within one Mangala own goal of guessing it exactly right. Instances such as that probably contributed to the above-average scoring this week. Best of the rest was Two-Face, who I'm delighted to say rockets up the classification to put him comfortably inside the top half following a shaky start. The less said about this week's worst performer, the better. (Ahem, what can I say? I was obviously in more of a rush than usual last Thursday.)

Further afield, Roma's two late goals against Verona saved a point or three for many players, and the draw in Turin also proved quite fruitful, but Sampdoria's single-goal triumph 'on the road' (in their home stadium, of course) caught a lot of people out. Elsewhere a comfortable home win for Chelsea, a narrow one for Saints and a stalemate at the Stadium of Light turned out to be easier to foresee than West Brom scoring 4, Palace beating Leicester and the Gunners needing a late goal to secure a draw on their own turf in the North London derby.

Right, that's not bad for an update. The new thread should be posted by 11am tomorrow. I would put the card up now, but I'd rather catch an 8pm train than the next one, which would only get me home just before midnight. Which, incidentally, is about the time of day that the update for next week will go up. Old habits, eh... ?
