I was wondering, what with the Andre the Giant Battle Royal this year, how many 'Mania debuts would we be seeing, and how they stacked up to previous editions.

So, the least Wrestlemania debuts occurred in 2005.

 

Wrestlemania 2000 really stands out too, with the numerous new talents and WCW/ECW acquisitions.

If we're counting appearances AJ Lee was in Daniel Bryan's corner at WM 28.

Shouldn't it only be a debut if you then appear at another Wrestlemania? You can hardly say that Maywrather made his Arestlemania debut if he then never appears at a Wrestlemania again

If we're counting appearances AJ Lee was in Daniel Bryan's corner at WM 28.

If you're counting appearances then Snuka was at 1 and 5 and Virgil was at 4,5 and 6

From the presence of Jerry Lawler listed under WrestleMania XXVII rather than X, it's obvious that Evo2012 is referring to wrestling debut.

 

Shouldn't it only be a debut if you then appear at another Wrestlemania? You can hardly say that Maywrather made his Arestlemania debut if he then never appears at a Wrestlemania again

 

Of course you can. Debut just means first appearance/performance. That it was their last WrestleMania doesn't change the fact that it was also their first WrestleMania too. A footballer that plays one game for a club, breaks his leg then never plays for them again still made his debut, for instance.
