Paid Members tiger_rick Posted September 6, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted September 6, 2011 There was a debate about Regal vs. Davey Boy yesterday. Throw in Dynamite Kid and you've probably go the best three exports we've had in pro-wrestling. All from the glorious North. Albeit, the shit quarter. Â So what about the South of England? (You can have the Midlands too, they are equally dire.) What wrestlers have you ever produced?

kralcdxela
Makes you realise that the North has created some of the best wrestlers of all time. Â Anyway, i'll go with Doug Willams, he comes straight to mind, a true export, gone all over the world, and a world class wrestler.
Big Rob
Worcester is more South than it is North, so "Super Destroyer" Pete Roberts is a pretty good shout I suppose. Not a household name these days, and never went to WWE, but toured Japan extensively and is held in high regard by guys like William Regal. Keith Haward too, and he was name-dropped by Dave Meltzer the other day as being one of the better and more well-travelled British workers. Dirty Eddie
Doug Williams was my first though, but Norman Smiley has done very well for himself all over the place. Â Gentleman Chris Adams had a great run down in Texas back in the day. I think he was from somewhere in the middle of England.
Richie Freebird
Regal was originally from somewhere in Staffordshire, which I wolud consider more midlands than North West. He moved to sunny Blackpool in his late teens I believe.
King Pitcos
Aye, if you're allowing the midlands, Regal. Â If we actually mean the south, it's slim pickings. Paul Burchill, the third blandest wrestler of all time, seems to be the only option that ever had a real run with a proper company.
Paid Members FelatioLips Posted September 6, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted September 6, 2011 What about Dave Taylor? Where's he from?
kralcdxela
Ah, come on, Regal's a proper Northern bloke, have you ever heard him speak? Â Staffs is generally considered the gateway to the midlands from the north. Â Taylor's from Bradford. Â I don't see how Burchill could be considered a good export, really. Richie Freebird
What about Dave Taylor? Where's he from? Â I believe Taylor is a Yorkshire man. Not sure where about exactly.
Whiskey_Jim
surely we can toss Mr Brooksides name in the hat?
King Pitcos
Ah, come on, Regal's a proper Northern bloke, have you ever heard him speak? I find Regal's accent baffling. Back when he was doing the posh ambassador gimmick, he had a weird northern hardman accent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VVL7KauGqw  He doesn't talk like that now, though. Throw in Dynamite Kid and you've probably go the best three exports we've had in pro-wrestling. All from the glorious North. Albeit, the shit quarter. So what about the South of England? (You can have the Midlands too, they are equally dire.) What wrestlers have you ever produced?   Well then we should all face the fact that if your English and want to become a household name in wrestling you need to be born or live in the North. The fact being household name wrestlers like Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Mark Rocco, British Bulldog, Dynamite Kid are all Northerners, all successful and all remembered today therefore theyve all made a part of history.  There are good wrestlers out of the North too though, guys like William Regal, Doug Williams, Katie Lea are amazing
Richie Freebird
His accent is all part of the character I think. The only other preson I
