Shane and FWA

So what's shane up to?

I know Shane did run self-help classes for people with low self esteam. I don't know if he still does though, however I can't imagine there being major money in that. I could be wrong. Would be interesting to know how Shane makes a living outside of wrestling if anyone wants to dish out the gossip?

Adding onto that, whats FWA up to? Haven't heard anything on them in ages

Yeah, I've been wondering this for ages as well. They used to post videos up of episodes called 'Frontline' on their youtube channel every single week. Though since the new season, I noticed they haven't put anything up for a good couple of months. Also Shane has quitened down on his facebook page about the FWA being about to take the world by storm to heights no one would ever even be able to imagine.

Is the new FWA on it's way out?

His website appears to have gone off line and the BWC stuff looks like its ground to a halt. The last I read on the FWA it was doing shows at expos and Thorpe Park.

I'm sad to say it doesn't feel like a loss after the way things went with them.

It's either the case they're slowly shutting down or they've been working on new material and are quitening down a bit for refurbishing purposes. I haven't been getting the impression it's really been doing too well. If anything it's just a shell and a memory of what it used to be in the early noughties.

Hello all.

I'm happy to say that the FWA is far from closed down! There is a lot going on "behind the curtain" at the moment to try and do something different with the FWA. In the meantime, check out the links below see some of the things we are doing on the FWA website and also the ways we are trying to promote the FWA brand to a wider audience and raise awareness of the British Wrestling industry.

- The FWA will be launching its new YouTube Channel content this Saturday, 23th July. Check out the trailer at the link below:

There's no evidence from any of those videos to suggest you've got anything new going on. Sorry FWA, I'd love you to get a TV deal and to go somewhere, but the gap between the first/last season and this supposed new up coming season is about a year now. Also, what happened to the storyline or conspiracy theory that WWE had been tricked into floating all their major profits on the stock market by a massive (unknown) external corporation, which was making Vince lose power over WWE, which was allowing this corporation to slowly take control over WWE to eventually patent pro wrestling itself? Didn't Alex Shane say he and Doug Williams were putting their lives on the line just to tell the public of this information?

To be fair it's not a year since they last ran, nothing like it, they were doing shows at thorpe park a couple of months back.

But, fwa's problem has always been, from the first incaranation to this, the gaps they take kill their momentum. Then they come back with a rebirth or relaunch or whatever it might be, often a completely new direction, less imports, new rules (punch's banned, yellow and red cards etc) which can alienate previous fan bases.

Which isn't to knock em, they've done some great stuff (though I think their early incaranation remains their best work, everything up to a bit after british uprising 2) but they've never probably capitalised on it. If they could have put shows on of that quality, every month, without shane burning out and lambert taking over the booking and changing alot of what once made them great, they might have got to that next level, telly exposure, mainstream following, that they were so desperately going for.

Interesting. I've heard over the years of Shane leaving wrestling and needing time off due to feeling fatigued by being "over worked". Do you think he burns himself out by being too over the top and intense?

Didn't he help out at the Samaritans for a while. Lemming Sunday I think they called it

Its been a good while since they did a straight pay to go a watch wrestling show, and the gaps between Expos and Thorpe park does seem quite sporadic. It feels even longer when you consider all the hype and push they put to the youtube bit at one time which kind of went from one extreme to another and fell off.

This new FWA isn't as cool and gripping as the FWA from years past. I wasn't too impressed with 'Frontline' to be honest, it was corny and desperately unoriginal.

It would be really cool to see FWA get on TV. I don't understand why they haven't got themselves a deal with a lesser known cable channel like MyChannel. I mean, they put on a documentary about Scott Future, which was okay, and they're putting on UKW shows (or bits of), which are pretty lame to tell the truth, but hey it's still British wrestling on TV.

Because they would have to pay to get on TV like UKW do. On that topic, I watched UKW for the first time the other day. Such a shame that is the only representation of British Wrestling that we have on TV. Not that fussed mind, don't imagine anybody watches it.
