I havn't seen much information about this on the forum and so I thought I'd start a thread summarising what we know.

Next Wednesday June 29 TNA will film a pilot in the Impact Zone and also the following weekend at Daytona Beach

The Pilot is being filmed for the Speed Channel , an American Cable sports channel what specializes in Motorsport.

The Pilot will be called All Wheels Wrestling and will have elements of wrestling and motor sport .

All Wheels wrestling will be based on the team concept .

The Teams are Described on the twitter account AWWcommish as TEAM OCTANE: , "The members of Team Octane are All-American, inspired by the stock car, open wheel and drag racing series. These men know what it takes to entertain a crowd and wrestle at full tilt. This team has the bravado to talk their way out of any situation, but prefers to settle conflicts like men, in the ring. They are the odds-on favorite to win the AWW Championship Cup."

TEAM 720: Inspired by the X Games, Team 720 comes straight out of a video game. Their inspiration is BMX, snowboarding and skateboarding

Basically, AWW sounds like the World X Cup format (teams with captains competing in matches to earn points in order to win the season's cup) mixed in with motor sports stuff which are yet to be explained. Word has it Jeff Jarrett is one of the main guys behind this project.

These pics where released yesterday:

I thought they were trying to push the "Wrestling Matters" slogan and now there branching off with hybrid stuff.

AWW has nothing to do with IMPACT WRESTLING though. It's owned and produced by TNA Entertainment but it's a separate deal, a brand new promotion if you will. At least that's what all the info suggests so far.

Based on all the info that's out there, my best guess is that the Speed network wanted a wrestling show (that would fit well with their motor sports programming) so they contacted TNA to produce one for them and TNA decided to give it a shot since the show would be cheap to produce and if picked up it would lead to some extra cash in their bank account. Since Hermie Sadler works for Speed and is tight with TNA that's probably how TNA got the deal to do the pilot.

I agree , from what I've seen this is not a seperate brand , it's a second TNA promotion . AWW is not just the 'Smackdown' to Impacts'Raw'.

Now we can see the probable reason for the rebranding of TNA Impact to Impact Wrestling , to empasise the difference between TNA the company and Impact wrestling the promotion , so that this second promotion is seen as on the same status as impact

This sounds dreadful

It could go two ways . It could rival the AWA Team Challenge series from 20 years ago for awfullness , or it could offer a change to what we get now from TNA and WWE . This will not get massive ratings in the states as the channel is a low rating channel .It'd be interesting to see what it would do if it ever got on challenge .

By the way I found this article on wrestlezone.com

So, AWW will be using the six-sided ring and it appears the pilot that they're shooting tonight will feature an Ultimate X match.

Here's what the arena will look like:

And here's the cup that the teams will be competing for:

Btw, earlier today Karen Jarrett tweeted this: "Exciting day!!!! Can't wait to see another one of Jeff Jarrett's visions come to life!!!!!" I guess that confirms that Jarrett is indeed running the show, or at least he's one of the main guys behind AWW.

A missed opportunity for Jeff Jarrett really. I remember years ago, he used to talk about his dream of naming a wrestling promotion the Double JF. This would have been perfect vehicle (no pun intended) for him to realise this dream. He's taken country music by storm, he's taken wrestling by storm, he's taken MMA by storm and now this is just another hat to hang for the multi-talented star. Ain't He Great?

Very odd. The ring, the set and the team captains. It's like TNA from 5 years ago. Now oddly, people on here keep moaning about Russo ruining TNA, which was apparently great before he came in, so this should be a hit. Right?
