jimufctna24
According to MMAJunkie Alistair Overeem has been charged with battery in Las Vegas. No not the battery on Brock but he's said to have pushed a woman in the face in a casino in Vegas not long after UFC 141 and he's gonna have to go to court over it. I am quite suprised by this, he comes across as being quite placid and relaxed outside the cage.  See what happens when the facts come out. Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted January 31, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 31, 2012 Yeah I thought the same Jim. We'll see, could be something of nothing, I hope so. Â Only trouble Ive heard of Overeem getting in outside the cage before was a few years back in Holland. He battered some bouncer apparently, but from what I read he was justified cos they attacked him and his brother. A similar thing happened to Bas Rutten aswell he talked about it on one of Joe Rogan's podcasts a while back. Holland is a crazy place.
jimufctna24
The Bas story in Holland is in the No Holds Barred book, I won't ruin it for people who are going to read it. Â Agreed, Holland is crazy.

Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted February 1, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted February 1, 2012 That's right it was Sweden yeah. That Rogan podcast with Bas was great, they're 2 of my favourite guys to listen to talking MMA.

Paid Members Egg Shen Posted February 1, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted February 1, 2012 harsh for Joey, such a crowd pleaser but if we're being realistic i think it's pretty safe to say he isn't a UFC-level heavyfight...there was talk of Joey retiring before the Lavar fight so i think him being cut may be the end of his career he's the kind of guy that promoter's will pick up because he comes to brawl but it seems Joey doesn't want it if it isn't in the top promotion. Paid Members Egg Shen Posted February 1, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted February 1, 2012 ...ahhh just read the actual statement and Joey says he isn't retiring. Hopefully he'll continue to lose weight and goto 205.
rohpete
-Former Strikeforce star Brett Rogers will face reality TV fight Jeff Kugel in the main event of a show called "My Bloody Valentine" on 2/18 at the Palace in Auburn Hills, MI. Kugel, who is 6-6 and 290 pounds, is the huge security guard on the reality TV show "Hardcore Pawn" that airs on TruTV. Before that, he was an NHL enforcer with the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League, and his brawls got him suspended for life from the league. Kugel, 31, beat Butterbean in an MMA fight. mikey
To this day, it's baffling to me that James Thompson could have lost to Butterbean. And Zuluzinho lost to him via a keylock.

Paid Members Egg Shen Posted February 2, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted February 2, 2012 was a bit premature on the Johnson/Hunt talk, Lavar will fight Pat Barry on May 5th...that aint going 3 rounds.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted February 2, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted February 2, 2012 just found out that Nate Diaz/Jim Miller is headlining the 3rd Fox show! I didn't realise they were headlining, that's a massive step up for those guys. It pretty much has to confirm that the winner is gonna fight the winner of Henderson/Edgar too. Gonna be great! Â ...a Thiago Silva/Brandon Vera rematch is booked for May 15th too, the build up for this one is gonna get f'n nasty. Outstanding.
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted February 2, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted February 2, 2012 Good stuff there. Diaz vs Miller should be a war, I'm glad to see they're being given a big spot on FOX. Winner has gotta be next in line for sure. Â Glad they're doing the Vera vs Silva rematch aswell. That makes sense to clear up all the shit from last time. I think Thiago wins again though. PED's or not. I just think Vera is shot, it's a shame cos he has all the tools he just doesn't seem to have it anymore. Thiago's a nasty fucker and I can see him doing the same as last time. Only doubt I have with Thiago is the layoff, that could effect him plus he's had a lot of injuries the last 2-3 years aswell. Â Love the Pat Barry vs Lavar Johnson fight. That's gonna end in brutal fashion. Dunno who to root for in that one. Real crowd pleasing fight that. Â Shame about Beltran but glad he's not retiring. They should just stick him in Strikeforce if he gets down to 205. They need more LHW's there and he'd bring some wars to Strikeforce.
