Getting fired for that's ridiculous IMO, it might be bad taste but so's Rogan's stand-up. It's not like he's committed a crime. I think this is them being uber-cautious after the Fox deal.

To be honest this is not that bad a quote because it is from "its always sunny in philadelphia" which is shown on FX in the us. After the 7 year deal the UFC signed with them i cant see why he is fired after quoting a tv show aired on the same channel.

can't help but feel that Miguel is being made an example of. In recent weeks 2 major names have said pretty stupid thing, Miguel's the third so to cut just him is harsh...especially when you consider it's a quote! Griffin and Evans' came from their own mouths so to speak. There's no doubt it was a stupid thing to tweet, but it's by no means worse than what the other two said, apology given or not.

I think it's a case of the UFC showing that they won't tolertate this behaviour, but Torres is being used as the fall guy for sure. Miguel is a big name in MMA but not in a casual sense so by cutting him it shows that the UFC will cut 'name' fighters, if not the 'major' ones. It sucks for Miguel, im a big fan and it looked like he was pushing forward for a title shot.

He'll probably take a few fights in Dream now, perhaps Bellator.

Ah, fucking hell. Totally ridiculous thing to Tweet really but seems quite harsh considering Griffin's latest stuff and Rashad's comments to Phil Davis about his College wrestling coach just 2 days ago.

Difference being that Forest and Rashad soon realised they'd made mistakes and apologised about it (Forrest even donated his $5,000 creative twitter bonus from the UFC towards a Clinic Aiding rape victims).

Torres has defended what he did without saying sorry, that's why he's gone.

That wasn't Griffin's first outburst on the subject, and from what I've read, he was told to apologize, visit and donate to the charity by the UFC brass. As for Evans, he apologised when Dana quizzed him on it afterward. As anyone would.

As people have said, Miguel is the scapegoat. It would be harder for Dana to can Evans or Griffin considering the money they make for him compared to Torres.

fuck, and i just voted for Torres as 'tweeter of the year' in the Middleeasy awards.

what exactly did it say?

Haha I voted Torres aswell. Like everyone's said it does seem harsh in light of the Forrest and Rashad comments recently. I'd imagine he'll be back if he gets a few wins in DREAM or Bellator. Some good fights to be made in either company so it's not all bad.

Get him on the new year's eve DREAM card I say.

Did anyone save that Sonnen vid? Or have a link to it somewhere else?

It's back on Youtube as of now but they keep taking it down. Here's a link

Scott Jorgensen vs Renan Barao also added to that card.

Love this fight, I was suggesting it in the FOX 2 thread for that card. Glad it's happening. This on the same show as Diaz vs Condit. Can't wait.

Despite retiring from MMA, Mirko Cro Cop is returning to K1 next year. Not too sure how to feel about that, for one I'm interested in seeing how he'd fair up in the sport these days but on the other hand I don't wanna see him being KO'ed time after time.

hopefully it'll be some nice exhibition type stuff. I'd hate to see Mirko matched up with a guy like Badr Hari, he'd likely die.

Bad idea imo. As big a fan of Mirko as I am he doesn't have it anymore. Too many injuries plus he's lost most of his speed and explosiveness. If you go back and watch his K-1 fights with the likes of Le Banner, Hunt, Aerts etc the difference in his movement between then and now is shocking. Age, injuries and 20+ years of fighting and training have took it's toll.

If Brendan bastard Schaub is KOing him, I dread to think what will happen to Mirko in K-1 in his current form. I'm genuinely worried he'll end up badly hurt the way he's going.

Rumours that Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva are gonna coach the Brazil version of TUF after they were spotted at the tryouts. Dana's keeping his cards close to his chest on it for now

Auditions commence next Wednesday in Sao Paulo, Brazil, for the first international edition of "TUF." Former champs Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva were spotted at tryouts for "TUF 15," which prompted speculation that they might be in the running for coaching jobs.

White said that might be the case, and it might not.

"Let me tell you what, if I was planning on having anything, the last place I would meet with guys is in front of you guys," he said. "But yeah, we have a lot of guys that we're looking at as potential coaches. What we're going to do is we're going to go down there and cast it, figure out what we're going to do, and then we'll go from there."

The Brazil season could air on FUEL TV, he added. As for other international editions

Its Bullshit reasoning and the more he tries to justify it the worse it seems. Of the 3 remarks Torres are the easiest to defend as its a quote from a tv show.

The thing that makes it even more confusing to me is that the line he quoted from It's Always Sunny is from an episode three years ago, it'd be slightly more understandable had it been the episode shown that night but to quote it randomly out of the blue when alot of people may take it out of context - it isn't the smartest thing he's done.

Josh Koscheck Vs Mike Pierce at UFC 143

Ah balls. They couldn't wait til after tomorrow to see if Ebersole would be healthy? :(

Yeah Ebersole/Koscheck would be good. I think if he wins tomorrow night they'll try and re-book Ebersole vs Rory MacDonald.

Maybe throw Kos at the Diaz/Condit loser?
