Spike TV announced today that it is counter programming UFC's debut on FOX with three hours of programming on 11/12 that will feature the biggest names, and in particular, Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos.

Spike will air UFC programming from 9 p.m. to midnight. In the head-to-head hour with the Velasquez vs. Dos Santos title match on FOX, Spike will be airing a tape of Velasquez's title win over Brock Lesnar, as well as Dos Santos' biggest win over Shane Carwin, and Jon Jones' win over Ryan Bader.

Over the next two hours, Spike will air Dos Santos vs. Mirko Cro Cop, Tyson Griffin vs. Hermes Franca, Thiago Silva vs. Keith Jaradine, Velasquez vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Matt Serra vs. Frank Tirgg, Pat Barry vs. Antoni Hardonk and Kendall Grove vs. Mark Munoz.

Spike is also promoting it as a five-hour MMA night, pushing the live Bellator fights on MTV 2, which will be moved from the usual 9 p.m. start time to 7 p.m. so as not to compete with the taped UFC fights on Spike.

i was having a quick look on the sky planner and couldnt and i couldn't find this weekends Versus event event list any ideas if it will be shown? sorry if this has been mentioned before

I had a look at Gareth A Davies twitter before and he seems none the wiser as to weather it'll be shown on television over here or not. Heres hoping it will find a channel to be shown on before Saturday though.

I'm pretty confident the FOX show will wind up on FX for obvious reasons.

I don't see any reason why the couldn't get Versus 6 on there aswell. It's not like FX has anything important on at that time. Or anytime for that matter. Seriously do they ever show anything but Family Guy and American Dad? It's all I ever see on there. They can move that about surely.

Good point mate. Surely the Verses event would get more viewers in that time slot for the channel too?

I just posted in the UFC 135 thread, if Jones' broken foot keeps him on the shelf for 6 months as some repprts are saying then I can see them making Machida vs Rashad Evans 2 while Jones heals up.

Surely Rashad won't sit out again? If it's a short wait 2-3 months maybe but if it turns out Jones will be out 6 months then Rashad would probably have to take another fight.
