Paid Members Kaz Hayashi Posted August 20, 2010 Paid Members Share Posted August 20, 2010 Well chuffed Keith has been noticed, it not hard to notice him in fairness  A proper top bloke, very good crack with fans (by that i mean me), not only a fountain of knowledge, but a great story teller too. Ive seen 4 or 5 of his matches live, and they were fantastic, full of emotion and made a lot of sense. Even at the last 101 show, he went outside on the balcony and chatted to fans, this is where i met Keith, we talked about my music producing and he gave me some good ideas about who to talk to, anyway, Prince walked past and Keith jumped straight back in to character. "The Model" Danny Hope makes his second consecutive UKFF UK50 appearance, with a minor slip of 3 places. Tied with Keith Myatt on points, total individual 1st place rankings, total individual 2nd place rankings and total individual 3rd place rankings, Hope gets the nod over Myatt for the higher ranking due to Hope receiving more individual 4th place rankings (1) than Matt (0). Either a singles wrestler or part of the tag team "version of The Models" with Joey Hayes, either as a babyface or as a heel, Danny is an established performer across the north of England.... Hope was known under the name Danny Rio in the SAS Wrestling promotion, though that promotion now appears to have closed its doors. Instead, Danny has continued to feature prominently for Wigan's GPW and Stockport's FutureShock Wrestling, made appearances for GNP/NBW and 1PW, and travelled up to Scotland for BCW.....  In the summer of 2009 over at GPW, Hope was locked in the middle of a year-long feud with his former tag team partner in the MilAnfield Connection, Jiggy Walker. The pair had interfered in each other's matches and brawled on numerous shows to the point that Walker was "suspended" from the promotion. At GPW's "Heatwave" event in July, Hope, who had ended up the fan favourite following the split, faced the sinister Dirk Feelgood. At the close of the bout, he was attacked by a hooded assailant who, naturally, was revealed as Jiggy in a majorly heated angle. With GPW taking it's annual summer break in August, they returned in September for "Truth and Consequences", where the feud was to be settled once and for all in a No Holds Barred match. Fighting all over the building, through the crowd, up to the bar and using an assortment of goodies, the massively satisfying and wild bout was indeed the decisive ending that it was designed to be - Hope pinning Walker in the ring following his trademark Catwalk Kick..... With the Walker feud over and done with, Hope beat GPW newcomer Cameron Kraze in a really good match at October's "Friday Night Thriller III". Formerly going by the name Nathan Irwin, the "Prima Donna" Nathan Cruz (who apparently changed his name because, no joke, someone said he looked like Tom Cruise) has seen his stock rise dramatically over the last 12 months, going from opening match nobody to promising star tipped for huge success. Cruz now appears for promotions across the entire north of England, including the like of DPW and RDW where he was already a regular, 3CW and XWA where his services have been called upon, and Hull's New Generation Wrestling, where Nathan Cruz has been pushed, established and accepted as a genuine main event-level star. With this, Cruz makes his first ever appearance in the UKFF UK50.....  In NGW, where Alex Shane makes his Yorkshire home, Cruz, backed up by his Cruz Enterprises (Kev Cash and Richie West), was locked in a bitter feud with Matt Myers after Cruz had turned on Myers in May. Cruz and Myers ended up brawling all over the building at both the August and October shows, following Cruz's respective victories over James Tyler and Havok. Following the later, Myers was left laying by Cruz, Cash, West and the newest member of the faction, Collosus Kennedy, as the perfect set-up for the feud-ending Last Man Standing match on NGW's final show of 2009 that November. There, a crazy, unpredictable and dramatic interference-laden bout ended with Myers gaining revenge and taking the feud with a huge chair shot.....  2010 in NGW has been all about Nathan Cruz's feud with Alex Shane over who is considered the "show stealer". Cruz, demanding respect, attention and competition, first got into a verbal confrontation with Shane, acting as the evening's special enforcer, at the February event. It developed into a physical one later that night as Cruz ran in to interfere with Shane's guest referee'ing of the main event bout between Dave Rayne and Jack Toxic and the pair brawled backstage. This led directly into "Anarchy" in March, where Shane and Myers faced Cruz and Dave Breaks. The bout ended with Alex pinning Nathan clean then following up with a promo which put Cruz over as a potential future star if he sorted his attitude out. The words had no effect on Cruz, however, since later that same night he ran out following the evening's main event and viciously attacked Shane with a steel chair as revenge, laid him out and attempted to force him to sign a contract for a conclusive match for the rights to the "Showstealer" name. With this not recognised, Crus stepped up his effort at the April event, first beating Shane's protege Dave Rayne in a match, and then shockingly holding a female merchandise attendant hostage in the ring until Rayne called the absent Shane and got him to agree to the match at the next show. Cruz then destroyed Rayne again with a chair for good measure..... The bout that had been building for 4 months finally took place on NGW's 2nd anniversary event in June, as Cruz beat Shane in the main event to officially become known as "The Showstealer" Nathan Cruz.....  Elsewhere, Cruz appeared briefly in 3CW's 20-man Rumble at Darkest Deeds 2009, was destroyed by the "Most Valuable Killer" Val Kabious on 2 consecutive nights for the promotion in March, and then returned at their 6th Anniversary Show in April in the Baywatch-inspired lifeguard team gimmick that he and Sam Bailey also used in GNP/NBW..... He's also appeared for DPW, RDW, SSW and become a regular with long established national touring promotion All Star Wrestling....  What did the UKFF think? "A young man with a big future. I've never seen him in a disapointing match" "A worker with an excellent personallity in the ring. He believes in his character, whilst his work rate is excellent" "A young, charismatic and all-around wrestler. Brilliantly entertaining on the mic" "Gone from strength to strength in the last twelve months, peaking at him becoming the new Showstealer. An amazing actor, can tell a fantastic story on the mic, with facials and in a match. Almost the complete wrestler, a few more years and a few extra pounds and he'll be easily number one on this list. Had a fantastic last Man Standing Match with his best friend Matt Myers in NGW, which is on youtube. Been around this kid for about 3 years and he's worked hard and got better and better over that time and will no doubt continue to do so. Known as "MVK" ("Most Valuable Killer") impressive-looking Val Kabious has exploded on the UK scene this year and is turning heads in a big way. Starting in a bodyguard/back-up role in promotions across Yorkshire and Derbyshire, it is Val Kabious' intense, powerful, explosive in-ring performances since the turn of the year which have landed him his debut UKFF UK50 ranking.....  In GNP/NBW, Kabious appeared unannounced to answer Matt Slater's open challenge and defeat him convincingly, and then ran in to save his buddy (and GNP Champion) Big Dog Rainz from a heel beatdown at the close of the show. At the next show, Kabious squashed Chris Holmes, but then appeared as a mystery final entrant in the gauntlet of Mohmed Ameen's hand-picked opponents against which Rainz was order to defend his title. MVK turned heel on Rainz, blasted him with his Death Valley Driver finisher, and pinned him to become the new champion..... One week later, babyface Val made his 3CW debut in Northalleton, smashing his way through emo shitarses The Lost in impressive fashion. He followed this up with wins over Nathan Cruz in Middlesbrough and Witton Gilbert and then at that promotion's 6th anniversary, where he turned down new GNP/NBW pal Ameen's invitation to join Team Cameron Kraze and instead beat the former Prince in a decent match..... Back in GNP, Kabious and Ameen headlined the next show against Rainz and El Ligero. A show held under the NBW banner in Cambridge saw Kabious appear as a babyface to battle Kris Travis in a long main event contest, before the singles win streak came to an end when he was beate by Ligero in a bout for the vacant NBW Openweight Title..... His reign as GNP Heavyweight Champion, now renamed the NBW World Championship, would also come to an end, as injury forced him to vacate the belt to a one-night tournament that Joey Hayes won.....  MVK also appeared in 2010 for 1PW, again involved with Ameen, as a part of the Prophets of Liberty heel faction. Being revealed as part of the group at February's event in Warsop, Kabious wasted GNP academy wrestler Chris Holmes again. Returning to the promotion in May for a double-shot weekender, MVK first beat T-Bone in Ellesmere Port before emerging on the winning side in the 8-man tag team hardcore war against a Ruffneck-led quartet at the Liverpool Olympia the following night.....  What did the UKFF think? "Absolute monster who can definitely make it far. Despite competing for a relatively short time, he improves at such an alarming rate. The fact that he's popping up all over the place shows that this guy is getting everyone's attention from fans, wrestlers and promoters alike" "This guy looks the part, is great in the ring and has a great intensity about him. Seriously underrated - this guy could be main-eventing with any UK fed right now" "New star in the making. Amazing brawls with The Big Dog in GNP and NBW" "Will have a contract stateside within 24 months. The guy has the look and is developing at such a furious pace that it will be impossible for the big 2 to ignore him" "Best physique in the UK and, in my opinion, the best big man" "The guy has GREAT potential" "The breakout star of 2010, destined for great things" "This guy has impressed the hell outta me in the last few months. Not been wrestling for long but looks like hes been doing it ages. This guy will soon be headlining every UK show in a year or so" "Great look & charisma as well as an ever-improving in ring worker" "The guy loves wrestling. Deserves the success he is getting, and had some very good matches with Cam Kraze and Chris Holmes" "Really has broken out in the past year and gotten loads of work and is still only really young, so I can only see him improving. Stole-on-Trent's Robbie Dynamite is a long-established and ever-present full-time member of Brian Dixon's Superslam/AllStar Wrestling promotion which tours the entire country, running multiple dates per week. Dynamite has previously also wrestled in Denmark, Germany and other countries, and appeared as part of Team UK in TNA's World X Cup during the Nashville days of that company..... Dynamite is known equally as a singles wrestler, where he currently reigns again as British Mid-Heavyweight Champion, as he is for his regular tag team with Mikey Whiplash, with whom he holds the British Tag Team Titles.....  For AllStar, as you would expect, Dynamite has faced a wide variety of opponents in halls across the land, including longtime rival "Xtreme" Dean Allmark, WWE-bound Barri "Goliath/Smackdown Warrior/Celtic Warrior" Griffiths and touring stars like Ricky Steamboat Jr. Notable bouts under the AllStar banner have included a Ladder match against Allmark in October in Birkenhead and a tag team title defence with Whiplash against Mark Haskins and Wade Fitzgerald inside a steel cage in Stoke..... In September 2009, Dynamite returned to Kent-based promotion IPW:UK for the first time since November 2007. The promotion had put together a "UK tag team dream match" of Dynamite and Whiplash ("The Allstars") against Terry Frazier and Sha Samuels (The Kartel) for it's "5th Anniversary Show" in Sittingbourne. Allstars won a superior contest and have remained a part of IPW:UK's showcase Sittingbourne events ever since. Later that night, Dynamite and Whiplash assisted invading Danny Garnell in his assault of promotional figurehead Martin Stone, setting up the signature annual "Brawl at the Hall" elimination tag bout on the next show. There, Dynamite was eliminated by Stone as Martin and the Kartel beat Garnell and the Allstars in a decent scrap.....  Dynamite lost a really good bout to Lion Kid at February's "No Escape 2010" in Sittingbourne, but he and Whiplash returned to beat a classic LDRS of the New School combination of Paul Robinson and Zack Sabre Jr on a card promoted under the IPW:UK name in Peterbrough later that month.....At April's "Sittingbourne Spectacular 2010", Dynamite and Whiplash took advantage of long-building mistrust and dissention within their opponent's camp to beat The Kartel in another choice encounter which, this time, signalled the end of the Kartel as a unit. He didn't appear on the June Sittingbourne event, but returned in August at the "6th Anniversary Show" where the Allstars beat the makeshift team of Johnny Moss and Leroy Kincaide to earn an Undisputed British Tag Team Championship shot at LDRS Sabre Jr and Marty Scurll. Their first bout with the champs takes place on the Dragon Gate UK show in September in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire.....  What did the UKFF think? "Another who is now getting internet recognition after doing IPW:UK, despite being consistantly in the Top 5 in the country for the last 9 years. Better suited as a heel although can get it done as a face. Outstanding technical wrestling but with a unique fast action pace. Perfect match against Dean 2 Xtreme after years and years of matches against each other" "One of the best in the country" "Looks like a wrestler, technically sound, knows how to provoke an audience as a heel and pick up genuine heat" "A true pro, just like his partner, here is a guy that is nowhere near as famous as his talent deserves. Another one I think who should be in Vinceland" "Colour me impressed" "Amazing technical wrestler. I can't believe I don't hear more about him on the forums" "Half of the best tag team in the UK" "One of the stars of All Star's "Middleweight" scene, Dynamite absolutely rocks on the mat, tells fantastic stories while he's doing it and has to be one of the most legitimately skilled guys working in the country. I've seen him what seems like hundreds of times against the same two or three guys and will never get sick of him work. Bouncy, funky "Superstylin'" Sam Bailey has come up through the north-west wrestling scene, starting out with FutureShock Wrestling and going on from there. The last 12 months has seen him appear in even more promotions as he continues to establish himself, though does experience a 6-place fall in the rankings this time.....  Bailey started the 2010 UKFF UK50 period as a double champion in the north-west, being both the FSW Champion and the GPW British Champion. In GPW, Bailey was in the middle of a year-long feud over the title with "The Juice" CJ Banks, with Banks gunning for a title rematch after the two had fought to a time limit draw in their first match back in April. Making his home in Scotland's SWA, "The Butcher" Scott Renwick is coming off his most successful year to date in terms of achievement and recognition as a singles wrestler, including a long and continuing reign as NWA Scottish Heavyweight Champion, and the guy SWA are pushing as their top new babyface star. This is reflected in a 14-place increase in his ranking in the UK50 this year, with votes also coming from England due to his appearances as a top heel in Triple-X Wrestling.....  At SWA's Glasgow supershow "The Gathering III" in September 2009, the promotion's annual "Money in the Bank" match this time took the form of a 5-man Scramble (win a fall to earn "control", and hold control when the time limit expires to win the bout), featuring Renwick, Liam Thomson, Kid Fite, Darkside and William Grange. By scoring a pin on Darkside with 10 seconds left, Renwick held control as the clock reached the limit and win a title shot whenever he wanted. "The Butcher" didn't wait long, interupting the start of the Lionheart vs. Wolfgang main event title match to "cash in" his opportunity, creating a 3-way main event on the biggest Scottish wrestling show of the year. A star was born when Renwick blasted Lionheart with his Prime Cut finisher for the winning pinfall, taking the NWA Scottish Heavyweight title in quite obviously the biggest moment of his career.....  Renwick beat former champion Lionheart in Uddingston in March to solidify his hold on the championship. With SWA storylines featuring a power struggle between joint owners (face) Peter "Conscience" Murphy and (heel) Eric Canyon, the roster was split with their allegiances. Renwick made an enemy out of Canyon by refusing to side with him, setting up his storylines for the rest of the year as Canyon sent challenger after challenger to try and gain the belt from him. Scott overcame a Canyon-attempted screw-job on Wrestlemania night to overcome Wolfgang at an "After Hours" (nightclub) show, and Canyon's meddling has been a signature of Renwick's title defences ever since. At "Home Stance" in Paisley in April, Renwick's former BMW tag partner Damien O'Connor won a battle royal to earn a shot at Renwick's strap later that night. The sporting battle of respectful former partners later on ended in a no contest, however, when Canyon-aligned Red Lightning, Wolfgang, William Grange and Dickie Divers ra in for the double beatdown. His May defence against Liam Thomson at "Battlelines" again ended in a no contest due to interference, as the Canyon- and Murphy-associated wrestlers all ran in on the bout to wage civil war with each other. A follow-up defence against Thomson at "Battlezone" in June ended similarly again, when Red Lightning ran in on the attack. This time, O'Connor made the save, but BMW fell to Thomson and Lightning in an impromtu tag contest.....  Over in PBW, Renwick's appearances have seen him lose to Darkside and Red Lightning in undercard bouts, and Renwick and O'Connor lost out to Chris Whitton and "Ghetto Booty" Andy Swan in a 3CW tag series in April, but for Coventry's TXW and AMP, he has been at the top of the card due to his association with TXW Champion Adam Shme in the Tartan Army. Renwick, Shame and O'Connor faced number one challenger Zack Sabre Jr, Marty Scurll and Jimmy Havok in a terrific 6-man tag in October, which was followed up with another strong bout as part of the same feud when Scott faced Zack in the main event of January 2010's "XXX Invasion Tour". Similar to so many of his SWA bouts, the contest ended in chaos when the entire roster ran in for a massive, long brawl to close the show. At TXW's 4th anniversary event in April, Renwick and O'Connor won a 4-team tag gauntlet, last beating the former-TXW-referees-turned-wrestler Dunne Brothers, who had debuted as a unit by running in and attacked them as part of the big fight at the last show. As the build up to Shame vs. Sabre Jr for the belt continued, Shame's handpicked opponents Renwick and O'Connor were supposed to face Zack in a handicap match at TXW "X-Seven", but O'Connor instead faced Zack in a Lumber Jock Match when Renwick wasn't there. "The Butcher's" next TXW appearance is set to be another tag bout against the Dunne Brothers / Birmingham City Machine Dunnes at "Destination XXX" in September.....  What did the UKFF think? "Has been on fire in SWA" "Had a great year in SWA and TXW which deserves recognition" "The face of SWA, literally. Although Scott's stock in other companies seems to have fallen, he's actually become a better worker and is doing a good job for SWA. Matches with Liam Thomson have been great, but a feud with Eric Canyon seems on the cards. Should be good" "Has been good this year" "The best guy working in Scotland right now. One or two jigsaw pieces away from getting it all right, but he's so very nearly there. Works heel pretty much exclusively in the UK, but even then his charisma shines through. Team with Damien O'Connor always produces great matches, as a singles wrestler has a huge amount to offer" "Deserves it for the clothesline that turned a Dunne Brother inside out at AMP at the start of the year" "Doesn't get to England much, but in Scotland he is at the top for a reason. Not that strong on the mic, but a tremendous wrestler who captures the audience's attention instantly and is able to keep them on his side no matter what. His stand out matches in the past year have included his NWA Scottish title win, a surprisingly stunning match with Dickie Divers earlier this year and a string of appearances for SWA's farm territory, Source" "Has really stepped up well to the spot in the main event of SWA.
