EVE vs Ice Ribbon announced for 8 and 9 October in Doncaster.

Interesting, with it being so local I'll definitely give it a look.

I am woefully uneducated in joshi, whether it's classic or modern.

Madness if you can't manage to do the shows without clashing with any HBK appearences....

Ice Ribbon is one of the more bizarre promotions in the world today. The group is basically the students of Emi Sakura, with some external wrestlers including some guys like Yuko Miyamoto & Jun Kasai (both deathmatch guys). Quite a few of the roster are quite young: Riho is only 13 and has been wrestling for at least 4 years. I would say a lot of their roster are 21 or younger, and at least half a dozen are under 16. Other wrestlers include models and lingerie models. They aren't the most polished of wrestlers (due to age and experience) but there is a nice miz of enthusiasm and fun on the shows. It would be interesting to see who comes in for these shows.

Remaining results......

Nikki Storm beat Erin Angel

The Alpha Female defeated Shanna

Sweet Saraya beat Blue Nikita - Last Woman Standing

Brittani Knight won Last Chance Battle Royal

Brittani Knight beat Jenny Sjodin

Am hoping the EVE / Ice Ribbon deal allows for both sides to have their wrestlers gain experience working in different countries and styles.

A few youtube vids showcasing Ice Ribbon for those interested.....

Cracking night tonight, considering the upsets all week. The venue is actually quite good, nice and intimate with some useful tech (sound, video wall and A BAR!) and with a better run-up would have been superb; anyway to the fighting. Blue Nikita lamped Sweet Saraya with a stick during the first bout which is never recommended for your health - she called out Dan and gave him a gobfull about BN being there and promised to take care of things...... As first up the match was a bit jittery and the crowd quiet until Saraya got lamped which woke it up. Nikki Storm is the Scottish Jetta..... more mouth than the Channel Tunnel and a brilliant heel.

Second match had Erin Angel and Super Janey B team up to sort Pollyanna and Sara-Marie Taylor, then it all went west and Erin ended up with the pin. Good match, though...

Third match; Liberty and April Davids had a humdinger session, Destiny not really involved until AD pissed her off and they ended up brawling in and through the crowd and had to be pulled apart by a lot of manpower. Shanna stole the win off a tired Liberty.

Match 4; Alpha Female. Big. Muscly. Teutonically efficient. Job done. Seriously, the other three worked a good set of moves until AF was tagged in, then job stopped.

Match 5; Odd one this. Britani and ex-team mate Melodi vs Jenny Sjodin after Sweet Saraya created hell trying to get back at Blue Nikita. SS and BN sent to the back, Jenny then ending up in a 'sort of' handicap match but finally taking the win with a submission.

After the break, the first 1/4 final was Nikki Storm and Erin Angel. Bloody good bout, no-one could separate them and the ending came as a bit of a shock as it had been so even.

Second 1/4 final. Must hand it to Shanna, shes either brave or stupid to step in the ring with Alpha Female but she did have a good go and had AF's leg worried for..... ohh, about five minutes. Then Alpha Female 'killed' her......

Grudge Match. Had to happen. Saraya vs Nikita. They nearly killed one another, literally. Once both competitors remembered it was a 'Last Woman Standing' match they really unleashed and once the dust and rubble had cleared, the remains of Saraya had her hand raised in victory, Nikita being shovelled into the back but still able to spit on Saraya as she left. I don't think this is over by a long ball of chalk.....

Third 1/4 final; Rumble match. All losing competitors were in, the numbers soon reduced as the bigger ones were ganged up on, then finally down to the final three, Britani winning after launching the others off the ringpost as they tried one-too-many spots... and straight into 1/4 Final 4 as Jenny Sjodin jumped Britani before she could recover properly. Brilliant match, Jenny working Britani's arms for the submission and Britani trying everything to get the pin and finally succeeding to the joy of the (ever so slightly partisan) crowd.

Considering the crap Pro-wrestling EVE has had to put up with this week and the sudden venue change, it was a damned good nights entertainment; just a shame Sudbury isn't open to me tomorrow but hey, I enjoyed what I saw.

Kudos to Britani for working even though she's really under the weather at the mo......

So... Any results?

And anymore info on EVE vs Ice Ribbon?

With the latest 1PW revelations, what would the odds be on that Oct show having to move locations? :(

Providing of course what I heard about EVE having the afternoon shows turns out to be correct.... But then I don't know how well a womens wrestling afternoon show would go down when people are there to see big WWF/E guys later in the day.

wats the knight light

It's a variation of a DDT. If you've seen Sara Del Rey lift someone up for the first part of the Royal Butterfly, think of Britani dropping the victim with a DDT instead of Del Rey flipping them over with a suplex.

Congratulations to Nikki Storm and Britani. From what I've heard they had an absolute stormer. Nikki has only been training for 3 years, but has the right attitude, works ridiculously hard, has great quality ring gear and is going from strength to strength. We're all really proud of her above the border. Delighted to see her against great quality opposition :)
